“Gas the Jews”: Supporters of Hamas run riot in French city, smash Jewish shops

posted at 3:21 pm on July 23, 2014 by Allahpundit

Guy mentioned the attacks in Sarcelles in his post about Hamas supporters intimidating Jews in Boston, but not until I read this did I grasp the full scope of it.

Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose:

It is the third time in a week where pro-Palestinian activists have clashed with the city’s Jewish residents. On Sunday, locals reported chats of “Gas the Jews” and “Kill the Jews”, as rioters attacked businesses in the Sarcelles district, known as “little Jerusalem”…

Francois Pupponi, the mayor of Sarcelles, told BFMTV that the violent attacks were carried out by a “horde of savages.”…

Eighteen people were arrested for attacks on shops, including a kosher supermarket, a Jewish-owned chemist and a funeral home. Rioters, who carried batons and threw petrol bombs according to eyewitnesses, were yards from the synagogue when they were driven back by riot police who used tear gas.

“They were shouting: ‘Death to Jews,’ and ‘Slit Jews’ throats’,” David, a Jewish sound engineer told The Times. “It took us back to 1938.”…

The government had banned a demonstration planned in Paris for Saturday, but posters were seen around the area which said “Come equipped with hammers, fire extinguishers and batons” and promised a “raid on the Jewish district”.

Last year, per the NYT, slightly less than 3,300 French Jews emigrated to Israel, a rate of not quite 10 a day. According to the HuffPo post quoted above, more than 1,000 French Jews have made aliyah in the last 10 days alone — at a moment when Israel is in a hot war with Hamas, with rockets being fired at Israeli cities and the FAA suspending flights to Tel Aviv due to a risk of attack. At a rate of more than 100 a day, Jews in France would rather take their chances with Hamas itself than with Hamas’s degenerate supporters on the continent. In Israel, at least, the IDF’s there to protect you; who’ll protect you in France from this, especially as demographics in Europe change?

The town held an interfaith service after the attacks attended by France’s chief rabbi and an imam, which is encouraging. Think it’ll stem the outflow of Jewish citizens, though, who’ve decided that they’ve seen this movie before and aren’t keen on a re-release?

Not going to touch that with a ten foot poll.

Instead let’s just pray for His chosen people around the world. Not just these who are being attacked, but all the Jews whose hearts are wounded by headlines like these. I know I got a lump in my throat reading it. I can’t even imagine how I’d feel if I had to worry about my family being attacked by these “barbarian.” (Good word to use, Conservchik.) What about the killers of the three Palestinians, as well?

Look, I agree that Israel is in a much better moral position that Hamas here, but given the differences in the numbers killed on each side, Israel’s apparently willingness to target houses on the basis of less than definitive information, some questions about whether Israel has given warnings to people in all cases about missile attacks, questions about whether the women and children being killed in all cases were shields or aiding terrorists and comments such as those of the Israel MP, Israel needs to be careful.

And I haven’t read any comments by others in Israel rebuking this MP for her comments. Have I missed them?

Yes, the perps were quickly arrested and Israel was outraged at their act. Compare that to Israel’s enemies who have honored and celebrated Samir Kuntar who smashed in the head of a 4-year-old Jewish girl with his rifle butt. He is a hero to Hezbollah, Hamas and the IRI as well as the Jew-baiters around here like LFOD, Tlaloc, coolrepublica, verbaldouche and the rest. You try to weasel around because you don’t have the b*lls to veer from the leftist party line even when it is so morally bankrupt.

By the way, the Hamas charter calls for the murder of Jews.

Not Israelis.

Not Zionists.

Not “settlers”.

*JEWS*.

So you and the rest can taker your moral equivalence and cram it.

libfreeordie on July 23, 2014 at 4:29 PM

so, we can judge all of Israel based on one MP, but we can’t just islam or Palestinians based on their repeated:

–a) violence and attackes against innocent people;
–b) words (i.e., calling for the destruction of all of Israel, calling for death to Jews;
–c) votes – voting consistently for terrorist organizations to “lead” them;
–d) actions (celebrating mass murders and mass murderers;
–e) other actions (sending their own children off as suicide bombers.

Interesting logic. Palestinians are never responsible for things they say or do repeatedly and en masse, Israelis are responsible for anything any Jew says or does anywhere in the world.

got it.

And you wonder why you couldn’t get into college.

So. If we are in a war, the rule is we can only kill as many people as you manage to kill?

We are constrained by your success or lack thereof in our response to your aggression?

Is that really your position?

When did logic become something people avoided at all costs? When did people like you decide that thinking was a vice that must be purged from society?

Gideon Resnick’s Hatred Renders Him Useless to The Daily Beast and His Readers

Quote:

In a story headlined “Israeli Politician Declares War on the Palestinian People,” Resnick actually suggested I compared Palestinian children to “little snakes” and accused me of fomenting Palestinian genocide. This vilification was later picked up by several bloggers and reporters, all of whom were convinced of this frightening notion, without even a scrap of fact or truth.

Let’s start with my July 1 Facebook post. It was written some 12 years ago but never published, by a dear man, the recently departed journalist Uri Elitzur. The gist of his article was that once one side in a war attacks the other side’s civilians, they can no longer morally claim a special status for their own civilians.

Go ahead, ask a Hebrew-speaking friend to translate it for you, they’ll confirm this is what my Facebook post was about. But you’ll find not a trace of that in Resnick’s account. Perhaps it’s his own ignorance of the Hebrew language. After all, he got the text from Electronic Intifada, a website dedicated to daily and hourly vilification of my country.

Good thing they never elected right wing parties over the last few decades or Paris would be more French. When will Notre Dame become a mosque? Sure to happen or the Muslims might get upset.

Chessplayer on July 24, 2014 at 9:46 AM

It’s ironic that any sympathetist for Palestine–or any European Muslim can hold that Hitler was “right” about the Jews.

If Hitler were “right”, then he would be right be the common expectations we have of somebody being right. That means that they are, by some degrees, insightful, truthful, and to some degree disinterested in their findings: the facts of the matter convince them, not simply their buy-in to the conclusion.

So what did Hitler observe about the Jews? In an age of eugenics and ethnic consciousness that informed the “volkisch” movement Hitler drew from, the Jews were peculiar among other nations of men: dispersed across various other ethnic nations, holding to themselves and, yet, setting themselves apart, as “chosen”. They were a defeated nation, ground into dust, that refused to go the way of other defeated nations, that nonetheless chose to live in enclaves among other ethnic nations. In an era of “natural man” this was unnatural behavior. He also blamed the Jews for “International Socialism” which again, was a force in every civilized nation, which thwarted the cohesion and national identity of a people. Hitler believed, via Volkism, that biology was destiny, therefore there was no “universal behavior” for men if men were in distinct races and biological strains.

Now if Hitler had any integrity to begin with, he would have recognized the “Zionist” movement which began in 1896, whose goal was simply, a “Home in Zion”. And that despite his suspicion that Jews didn’t want to contest in the natural struggle of men and volk in the “aristocratic principle of Nature”, this movement, and the Balfour Declaration that they achieved in 1917, threw a little doubt on the premise that all Jews wanted to be so peculiar among men. But ignoring such details, or simply blending them into a preferred narrative, is a hallmark of overgeneralizing. (And all you have to do is read the first chapter of Mein Kampf to see that Hitler prized and collected his “hates”, so he not only chose to pick sides but cemented it with jealous emotionalism.)

So were Hitler “right”, he would have to have some amount of integrity. Perhaps the theoretical result of the Balfour Declaration was too little to depend upon and assume that the Jews really wanted their own ethnic homeland. However, given that they achieved a sort of ethnic homeland, and have an enclave living among them seeking only to undermine their national success and cohesion, guess how he would have to find, given any consistency and integrity to be “right” about the Jews of his time?

In “Palestine” you’re talking about an ethnicity that does not differ from the Jordanians on the other side of the river. Who could have gone some where else to be among their people, but have chosen to attach themselves to the prosperity that the pioneer Zionists started building, from the early days of Zionism, within the wasteland that surrounded Jerusalem. Who despite the Jordanians receiving 80-90% of the lands pending from the Balfour Declaration, received an additional 50% of the remaining land to form their own nation over 60 years ago, but chose to live in “refugee camps” presided over by native Egyptians, and who had willingly left their homes in Israeli territory in 1948 to watch Islam sweep Israel into the sea by a 12-to-1 margin, in an invasion that ultimately failed.

If Hitler were “right” about the Jews of his time, then it might apply to the Palestinians of ours. And maybe the Jews need some liebensraum. Which the wikepedia article identifies as “a law of nature for all healthy and vigorous peoples”.

Hitler was a nihilist who held that the most worthwhile contributions to mankind came from the Aryan strain. I have a affable Saudi-Muslim colleague who is quick to volunteer that Arabs are “Semitic people” and that “Semite” does not refer just to the Jewish. I think because the ethnic population of the Middle East resent being lumped as “Arabs” and Arabs might jealously keep that name to themselves. I think that’s his point is that the proper way to refer to middle-easterners as a people is “Semitic”. But the upshot is that the Arabs could be no more “Aryan” than other strains of Semite.

I also find it a curiosity what he would think of the Muslim immigration into the European nations today. {Snort!}

Axeman on July 24, 2014 at 11:41 AM

These must be the MODERATE Muslims that liberal apologists keep bringing up whenever yet ANOTHER Muslim outrage occurs (every five minutes or so):
