Watch John Kerry scold Candy Crowley for supporting Hamas’ propaganda campaign

posted at 8:01 am on July 21, 2014 by Noah Rothman

Secretary of State John Kerry did not seem especially pleased with CNN’s State of the Union host Candy Crowley on Sunday when he was asked if the United States was “comfortable” with the deaths of Palestinian civilians and children which have resulted from Israeli’s offensive operations in the Gaza Strip.

Kerry said that neither he, nor the United States, nor any “human being is comfortable with children being killed.” He added, however, that Hamas had facilitated those deaths intentionally with the precise intention of getting members of the Western press to criticize Israeli’s prosecution of this operation.

“The fact is that Hamas uses civilians as shield,” Kerry said. “And the fire from a home, and draw the fire into a home, precisely to elicit the kind of question you just asked.”

Watch the clip below via SooperMexican:

On Sunday, the Israeli Defense Forces revealed that 13 soldiers have been killed in ongoing military operations inside the Gaza Strip. These deaths bring the total number of Israeli military casualties since the start of this campaign to 18. Hamas reportedly also killed one Israeli civilian in an artillery strike on an Israel-Gaza border post.

“At least 425 Palestinians have been killed in the near two-week conflict that shows no signs of stopping,” the AP reported.

Thus far, the disparity in casualty rates between combatants has not led the American public to sympathize with the Palestinian cause, according to a national survey conducted by Pew Research Center in from July 8 to 14.

Currently, 51% of Americans say that in the dispute between Israel and the Palestinians, they sympathize more with Israel. Just 14% sympathize more with the Palestinians, while 15% volunteer that they sympathize with neither side and 3% sympathize with both.

FINAL-7-15-2014-11-03-58-AM

Pew, which has been surveying American public opinion on the Israel-Palestine violence since 1978, reported, however, that the gap between Democrats and Independents who support the Palestinians versus Republicans who support Israel “has never been wider.”

Hamas is reaping what they’ve sown. They cannot beat Israel on the battlefield, so they try to draw them down in the court of polls and public opinion.

That “independents” poll on this question exactly the same as democrats tells us that they aren’t independents at all — they’re democrats who have somehow managed to retain some measure of shame at what the dem party has become and thus don’t want to admit to their membership in it. NBC pulls Gaza reporter after massacre report
*********************************************

The Daily Star

BEIRUT: American TV network NBC’s leading correspondent Ayman Mohyeldin was pulled out of Gaza Thursday after he reported the Israeli airstrike on a Gaza beach that killed four Palestinian children.

“This is exactly the time I would normally be tuning in to NBCNews to watch Ayman reporting on the ground assault. What a tragedy,” tweeted Sherine Tadros, a Sky News correspondent who had formerly worked with Mohyeldin.

Mohyeldin had tweeted that just before the death of the four children, he was “kicking a ball” with them on Gaza’s beach. He provided the most extensive details on the death of the children, who were members of the same family ranging in age from 9 to 11.

He conducted exclusive interviews with the victims’ parents and with one wounded child prepared to enter the operation room, and was later interviewed by MSNBC’s Chris Hayes to give his account on the matter

In short, they just know that Israel and Palestinians are fighting one another and, in today’s PC stupidity, that means that each party has a side that must be respected.

Letter from Gaza by a Norwegian doctor

Mads Gilbert

***************************

Dearest friends,

The last night was extreme. The “ground invasion” of Gaza resulted in scores and carloads with maimed, torn apart, bleeding, shivering, dying – all sorts of injured Palestinians, all ages, all civilians, all innocent.

The heroes in the ambulances and in all of Gaza’s hospitals are working 12-24 hour shifts, grey from fatigue and inhuman workloads (without payment all in Shifa for the last 4 months), they care, triage, try to understand the incomprehensible chaos of bodies, sizes, limbs, walking, not walking, breathing, not breathing, bleeding, not bleeding humans. HUMANS!

Now, once more treated like animals by “the most moral army in the world” (sic!).

My respect for the wounded is endless, in their contained determination in the midst of pain, agony and shock; my admiration for the staff and volunteers is endless, my closeness to the Palestinian “sumud” gives me strength, although in glimpses I just want to scream, hold someone tight, cry, smell the skin and hair of the warm child, covered in blood, protect ourselves in an endless embrace – but we cannot afford that, nor can they.

Ashy grey faces – Oh NO! Not one more load of tens of maimed and bleeding, we still have lakes of blood on the floor in the ER, piles of dripping, blood-soaked bandages to clear out – oh – the cleaners, everywhere, swiftly shovelling the blood and discarded tissues, hair, clothes, cannulas – the leftovers from death – all taken away … to be prepared again, to be repeated all over. More then 100 cases came to Shifa in the last 24 hrs. Enough for a large well trained hospital with everything, but here – almost nothing: no electricity, water, disposables, drugs, OR-tables, instruments, monitors – all rusted and as if taken from museums of yesterday’s hospitals. But they do not complain, these heroes. They get on with it, like warriors, head on, enormously resolute.

And as I write these words to you, alone, on a bed, my tears flow, the warm but useless tears of pain and grief, of anger and fear. This is not happening!

An then, just now, the orchestra of the Israeli war-machine starts its gruesome symphony again, just now: salvos of artillery from the navy boats just down on the shores, the roaring F16, the sickening drones (Arabic ‘Zennanis’, the hummers), and the cluttering Apaches. So much made in and paid by the US.

Mr. Obama – do you have a heart?

I invite you – spend one night – just one night – with us in Shifa. Disguised as a cleaner, maybe.

I am convinced, 100%, it would change history.

Nobody with a heart AND power could ever walk away from a night in Shifa without being determined to end the slaughter of the Palestinian people.

But the heartless and merciless have done their calculations and planned another “dahyia” onslaught on Gaza.

The rivers of blood will keep running the coming night. I can hear they have tuned their instruments of death.

Please. Do what you can. This, THIS cannot continue.

I’d say two cheers for the haughty, French-looking Secretary of State here — The third one’s withheld here because you have to wonder if Kerry would have confronted Candy so forcefully on her parroting of Hamas’ claims if he hadn’t just gotten off doing “Fox News Sunday”, where he was caught on the open mike making that sarcastic remark about Israel’s counter-strikes into Gaza.

He knew he had stepped in it, and certainly wasn’t going to step in it twice in one morning by going along with Crowley and reaffirming the open mike ‘pinpoint’ snark. So maybe he would have been outraged anyway, or maybe he saw an opening to get outraged and negate the problem of his interview with Chris Wallace.

Thus far, the disparity in casualty rates between combatants has not led the American public to sympathize with the Palestinian cause, according to a national survey conducted by Pew Research Center in from July 8 to 14.

I love this sentiment. Somehow, correct-thinking Americans are supposed to turn on Israel over disparity of deaths and casualties? Shouldn’t correct-thinking America be cheering the Israelis on to bury the Palestinians? Blab about “innocents” all you want. They enable bad regimes and terrorists. Exactly.

‘Disporportionate casualties’ are *desirable* in war. If you’re not sure about it, read that again, and put it in context of, say, our own efforts in WW2. If you’re going to war, do you really hope that your side suffers just as many casualties as the other side? Really? If someone is stupid enough to worry about the casualty figures being lopsided, well… I don’t know much what else to say.

What kind of – – – creature, what mockery of a man deliberately uses children, women and old people as shields?
Only two things I know of;
Islamists and Democrats.

I like it.

He should have said that 2 years ago.

Independents, so-called, and Moderates, so-called, are a bunch of fickle mushheads.

Esaus Message on July 21, 2014 at 11:18 AM

“The attack on New York did not come as a surprise with the politics the West has followed the last decades. I am upset by the terrorist attack, but I am at least as upset over the suffering that the US has caused. It is in this context that 5000 dead has to be seen. If the U.S. government has a legitimate right to bomb and kill civilians in Iraq, the oppressed has a moral right to attack the U.S. with the weapons they may create as well. Dead civilians are the same whether they are Americans, Palestinians or Iraqis.” When asked if he supported a terrorist attack against the US he answered: “Terror is a poor weapon, but my answer is yes, within the context I have mentioned.” — Mads Gilbert, on the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on America

I agree with Kerry for once? Huh.

Cladinator on July 21, 2014 at 12:36 PM

Good for Lurch for calling out Candy (He did call it terrorism) Crowley. How convenient for her that she ran out of time and avoid the embarrassment of having to respond to his scolding.

Mallard T. Drake on July 21, 2014 at 1:07 PM

Watch John Kerry scold Candy Crowley for supporting Hamas’ propaganda campaign

…he’s a porker!

JugEarsButtHurt on July 21, 2014 at 1:12 PM

Candy Crowley. Democrat shill pure and simple. She is as partisan as Paul Begala, the other favorite “commenter” on CNN.

Webrider on July 21, 2014 at 10:16 AM

She’s still eating off the lifetime-supply of KFC that the Democratics bribed her with to throw the debate to the REB.

Thanks for the updates Canopfor, I’m friends with the Texas boys family. They are a really good family, may G-d give them peace in this time of turmoil.

Scumhag and talking horse…better than fiction, good or bad fiction.

Schadenfreude on July 21, 2014 at 1:57 PM

Hamas is reaping what they’ve sown. They cannot beat Israel on the battlefield, so they try to draw them down in the court of polls and public opinion.

ted c on July 21, 2014 at 8:07 AM

This.

And Israel should stop playing patty cake with them. Take it to Hamas. Force Hamas to change their tactics. Attack, attack, attack.

Use all the weaponry available, including RF seekers (turn that TV broadcast tower on….boom….down it goes. Key that walkie talkie? Boom. Make a cellphone call (or more recently, just have a charged battery)….boom.

It wouldn’t take but a day or two for Hamas to figure it out.

“Crap….they’re serious this time….”

BobMbx on July 21, 2014 at 3:13 PM

So, the IDF reports 18 Israeli soldiers and 1 civilian killed, while AP reports 425 Palestinians killed.

What, no breakdown? Like 410 Hamas terrorist war criminals killed, 15 civilian human shields’ deaths caused by the Hamas terrorists’ war crimes.

It looks like it’s up to us to reinforce the legal realities through repetition of what should be obvious.

rayward on July 22, 2014 at 1:36 PM

You have to be a special kind of stupid to support Palestinians. They are terrorists and have Always been terrorists. It doesn’t suprise me that a large percentage of dems/libtards support them.

BeachBum on July 21, 2014 at 8:07 AM

So were the founding fathers you guys profess to love. They completely disregarded the “rules” of war at the time (because they would have lost using them).

Dominant military powers always call those who refuse to simply lose ‘terrorists.’

Tlaloc on July 22, 2014 at 2:29 PM

That means,..49% of Americans support Terrorists!!

canopfor on July 21, 2014 at 8:24 AM

Because all palestinians are terrorists?

I forget, what’s that term for ascribing the traits of some individuals to everyone that happens to share a racial background?

Tlaloc on July 22, 2014 at 2:32 PM

‘Disporportionate casualties’ are *desirable* in war.
Midas on July 21, 2014 at 10:38 AM

That would matter if this was a war, but of course it isn’t. This is a country attacking it’s own people because they are the wrong race. This is Israel gunning down palestinians like dogs, while the palestinians feebly try to fight back with crap weapons.
