Boehner gets angry on immigration: When is Obama going to take some responsibility for something?

posted at 2:01 pm on July 10, 2014 by Allahpundit

Is this a trick question?

Seriously, I hate to hassle the guy when he’s scoring a righteous point on President Buckpasser and I really hate to do it at a moment when even some liberals are in agreement, sniffing that O’s sad little presser last night had more to do with blame-shifting than with actually solving the border crisis. But listen: Obama ain’t the only one who’s been signaling “permiso” to would-be illegals in Mexico and Central America with nonstop chatter about amnesty over the past 18 months. He’s the guiltiest culprit, sure. He issued that DREAM amnesty for young illegals in 2012 as an election pander and he’s spent his days ever since whining that Republicans aren’t doing enough to bring adult illegals “out of the shadows.” Even when there’s a surge in illegal border crossings that could be partially solved by undoing a law that prevents kids from being summarily deported back to their home countries, he decides not to ask Congress to undo it for fear of annoying his pro-amnesty base. This is mostly his fault.

Mostly. If you’d been following U.S. immigration politics from afar since election 2012, you would have heard lots of blather by now about “reform” from prominent Republicans too, including and especially the Speaker of the House, the 2008 Republican nominee for president, and the Senate’s biggest Republican Latino star. Go figure that foreign media would have inferred that newly arrived illegals stand a better chance now of being allowed to stay in the U.S. than they have in years, partly because even the opposition party is led by people who are “hellbent” for their own political reasons to reward illegal immigration. Boehner, more than anyone outside the Chamber of Commerce on the right, shares the blame he’s pawning off on Obama. And I guarantee you: As angry as he appears to be here, he’s still quietly trying to game out a way to bring a comprehensive reform bill to the House floor without blowing up the party in the process. Maybe next year.

Oh, and the answer to the question in the headline is, “Next month, if we get another good jobs report.”

It ok to see Boehner get angry at Obama for this or that, and huff and puff a bit, but the main thing we got to keep in mind about Boehner is how he reserves his highest level of mockery for his own party, or conservatives. I sure wish I could embed the 2 minute video of him, it really is pitiful: http://hotair.com/archives/2014/04/25/video-boehner-mocks-gop-opponents-of-immigration-reform/

I say if you are in Boehner’s district, in November vote for the Dem. Get Boehner out of there one way or another. (Blondie: One Way or Another.)

Btw, I’m looking at the hotair link that I gave above, and I see that the video of Boehner mocking conservatives about immigration has taken down by liberal owned youtube. They want to keep Boehner in charge of the GOP, so they take that damning video down. For all the token anger Boehner shows to Obama, he needs to be replaced, pronto.

I seem to recall that he took responsibility for killing Osama bin Laden. With his own bare hands, IIRC. Right after he got off the golf course. I also seem to recall that he took credit for putting al Qaeda on the run with this move as well.

Again.. Do Republicans like losing elections? I know that Allah is the ultimate pessimist and doesn’t think that Republicans are ever going to win another Presidential election, but I would like the Republicans to win the Presidency again in my lifetime. We’ve hit “peak white person” with the Republicans. For Republicans to win another Presidential election, they need to win non-white people. And to win non-white people, Republicans need to strike a compromise on immigration and not look like heartless ogres on this issue.

And the immigration law changes aren’t the “tipping point” on this. If it was mainly the immigration laws, then why wasn’t there a surge in 2012 after Obama unilaterally allowed the Dreamers to stay or in the beginning of 2013 when Rubio was all over the Latin American press discussing immigration reform? There must be something really bad and broken going on Central America for parents to send their children alone to the U.S.

Who cares whether he takes responsibility? Really. What is the point here? The fact that the same point is being made on the Left should be a red flag.

This is a good post by Allahpundit, and gets closer to the heart of the matter than most of the drivel posted recently here at Hot Air. The Republican leadership is complicit in this strategy (and it is a strategy, a deliberate act or, more precisely, series of acts). Heck, they probably helped design it.

The proper question is not “when will Obama take responsibility?”, but rather, “who is responsible for this deliberate chaos; how do we stop it; how do we reverse it; and prevent it from happening again?

That’s it. Nothing else. Send them back. Don’t allow any more to come. Seal the border. Use troops if necessary. Rinse. Repeat.

Mexican train derails, stranding 1,300 migrants headed toward U.S.

MEXICO CITY Wed Jul 9, 2014 9:14pm EDT

(Reuters) – A cargo train used by Mexicans and Central Americans to travel toward the U.S. border derailed in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca on Wednesday, stranding about 1,300 migrants, emergency services said.

Many of the migrants aboard were young people and nobody was injured when the train nicknamed “the Beast” came off the tracks, a spokesman for local emergency services said.

Since last October, more than 50,000 unaccompanied minors, most from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, have been caught illegally crossing the southwest border of the United States.

Children say that they are fleeing violence at home and hope that they will be able to stay in the United States.

Several days of heavy rain in southern Mexico may have caused the train to derail, authorities said.

Obama has not just encouraged illegal immigration through the DREAM Act executive order and public pronouncements, he has done it through gutting enforcement altogether.

An enterprising journalist should interview some ICE agents in Northern Virginia. They’d quickly learn morale at the agency has hit rock-bottom and the Obama Administration’s political appointees there have essentially stopped meaningful apprehension and deportation of illegals, including those wanted for crimes aside from breaking immigration laws.

It’s been this way for a while now.

However you choose to refer to the looming weather pattern, unseasonably chilly air is headed for parts of the northern and northeastern U.S at the height of summer early next week.

Bearing a haunting resemblance to January’s brutally cold weather pattern, a deep pool of cool air from the Gulf of Alaska will plunge into the Great Lakes early next week and then ooze towards the East Coast.

Of course, this is July, not January, so temperatures forecast to be roughly 10 to as much as 30 degrees below average won’t have quite the same effect.

Obama wants a GOP Senate.

Obama has been following Alinsky all the way.

The goal is to foment enough public discontent, moral confusion, and outright chaos to spark the social upheaval that Marx, Engels, and Lenin predicted

- a revolution whose foot soldiers view the status quo as fatally flawed and wholly unworthy of salvation. Thus, the theory goes, the people will settle for nothing less than that status quo’s complete collapse

- to be followed by the erection of an entirely new system upon its ruins.

Toward that end, they will be apt to follow the lead of charismatic radical organizers who project an aura of confidence and vision, and who profess to clearly understand what types of societal “changes” are needed.

They are projecting calm in TMZ style photo-ops (shooting pool, etc.)

They are depending on our side to become unhinged, and/or do something violent.

Obama is prodding and provoking us. It’s having an effect. We need to remain calm while we continue to point out and block his activism.

But when will the Speaker of the House, the keeper of the nation’s purse, LIKEWISE take some responsibility? No money should leave the House, to be spent on this politician-made “humanitarian crisis”, that isn’t specifically designated as BORDER SECURITY. No money for lawyers. No money for judges. No money for anything except more law enforcement to stop these incursions.

At the very minimum, Boehner could be on the record for saying that he will NEVER put an immigration bill forward until our borders are secured. He doesn’t need any cooperation from anybody for that. He could do that on his own. That he hasn’t… speaks volumes.

“Kabuki” is an apt description. Boehner’s just hoping we won’t notice his own culpability in all this if he’s out there in front of the cameras acting affronted.

And I guarantee you: As angry as he appears to be here, he’s still quietly trying to game out a way to bring a comprehensive reform bill to the House floor without blowing up the party in the process. Maybe next year.

Indeed

Obama has requested $4b for a specific plan to address this issue.

How is that not taking responsibility?

How else is he supposed to “take responsibility”?

By closing the border and preventing the invasion. The 4B is for helping the “new arrivals” navigate the legal system (stay here) and provide permanent shelter. It’s forcing responsibility for his Children’s Crusade on the taxpayers

clnurnberg on July 10, 2014 at 2:59 PM

Congress does nothing, blocks any action from being taken, then blames obama. This they call “taking responsibility”.

Obama requests action, and in the absence of any from congress submits a specific plan to address this issue. This they call “not taking respnsibility”.

Holy crap you guys are dumb.

Like really, really stupid.

Here is a solution…
Obama wants a 2 billion+ bucks for the immigrants, take the money from the budgets of the different welfare agencies, take it from American poor and give it to the immigrants.

Let’s see Obama squirm with that idea. Cut the welfare budget from each of the cities, Chicago, Atlanta, D.C., LA, NY, etc. Just take about 40 million from each of the major cities to make up the budget.

No problem, I am sure the inner city would be more than happy to share their budget with Obama’s now priority…

right2bright on July 10, 2014 at 3:02 PM

If everyone would just re-position what they think are failures on the part of Obama as successes, then he would take credit for it.

Middle East: “Mr. Obama your actions or lack there of are helping your friends the Sunni Muslims take back Iraq for the Sunnis – good job!”
“Thank you”, says Obama, “Next question”.

Flood of illegals: “Mr. Obama your plan to create this crisis so you can use an Executive Order is working brilliantly!”
“Thank you, but A lot of the credit goes to my Attorney General, he had lots of experience with that gun running thing you all called Fast & Furious. Running guns or illegals across the border is not much different”.

AP cover this…Your border crisis coverage is incomplete without this announcement made this week.

“On Monday, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Guatemalan president Otto Perez Molina held a joint press conference in Playas de Catazaja, Mexico, to officially announce an agreement to make it easier for those making the illegal journey to the United States from Central America, to cross into Mexico.

The Southern Border Program to Improve Passage, will provide for more border checkpoints along Mexico’s border with Guatemala, and offer more protection and even emergency medical care to those making their way north. The illegal aliens will receive a so-called Regional Visitor’s Card, according to El Universal.

Officially, the program will grant the cards to only illegal aliens from Guatemala and Belize, allowing them to remain in Mexico’s southern states for 72 hours (more than enough time to reach the U.S./Mexican border by train). While, those two countries share a border with Mexico, the program will undoubtedly benefit anyone who makes it to the border, which would explain why our Border Patrol stations are currently overflowing with illegal aliens from El Salvador and Honduras as well.

The program will also give special protection and even financial assistance to unaccompanied minors now pouring across our border. Of course, these efforts, chiefly by the Mexican government, will only increase the number of illegal aliens coming to this country by the thousands, now on a daily basis.

The official announcement only confirms what many of us have known all along…the current chaos on the border which the Obama administration has sympathetically (and dishonestly) characterized as a “humanitarian crisis,” only exists due to collusion between the governments of Mexico, Guatemala and likely the United States….”

Pal, read before you post…Congress has tried to pass legislation, the problem Obama has, the laws always have a clause that he has to close the border…duhhhhhh, imagine actually having our borders enforced?

And of course their is always the National Guard, that was suggested months ago, weeks ago, and still no action, except the 8 ball in the corner pocket…

I guess if we are really, really stupid, and you are more stupid, that makes you, really, really, really, the most stupid…
