Obama whines: These Republicans are suing me for doing my job

This is a guy, remember, who likes to remind his opponents that he knows a thing or two about the Constitution after having taught it for several years and then gets destroyed by the Supreme Court on recess appointments. What you’re about to watch is actually a bookend to this now infamous clip from his 2008 campaign, when he told voters his presidency would correct the Bushian trend towards an ever more powerful executive branch. Fast forward six years and he’s actually taken to arguing that ignoring some federal statutes and rewriting others is just part of his “job.” To object to that logic on separation-of-powers grounds is to be guilty of a “stunt.”

And so, at long last, the professional left reaches pure “ends justifies the means” territory:

If executive action serves the cause of Progress, the procedural niceties are irrelevant. Obama himself has made variations of that argument. The question is, how far would the Supreme Court be willing to go to rein him in? Jonathan Turley hinted yesterday that the 9-0 bomb they dropped on him over his NLRB appointments might be a sign that they’re more receptive to a lawsuit filed by the House than everyone thinks. I’m skeptical, but George Will made the case eloquently recently that courts have no choice but to force each branch to stay in their respective lanes if separation of powers means anything. It’d be nice to hand this matter over to voters and let them punish Obama but there are too many Sally Kohns out there for that. Either the courts stand by while a quiescent electorate lets the executive take over more of the federal government or they tell him what his “job” really is.

Update: You ready for this one? Via Mickey Kaus:

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) piled on. Noting that a year has passed since the Senate passed a sweeping immigration reform bill with broad bipartisan support, he urged House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to bring a similar bill to the floor.

“I don’t know how much more time he thinks he needs, but I hope that Speaker Boehner will speak up today,” Durbin said. “And if he does not, the president will borrow the power that is needed to solve the problems of immigration.”

Kaus wondered on Twitter which part of the Constitution contains this alleged “borrowing power.” I believe it’s Article II, Section 5, also known as the “Just Take What You Need, Bro” clause.

I’m beginning to not like this Obama fellow.

Mr. President, we don’t believe you should pick and choose what laws to enforce on the border, nor do we think you have the power to write or rewrite any law, and we also believe that you should not be the chief obstructionist when we’re trying to end corruption and malfeasance. Your politicizing the ATF, EPA, IRS and the Supreme court is also noted as over the top. Frankly, you’re out of control on most any issue we would look at and no, these really aren’t parts of your job description.
You don’t need to look at the polls to see this, it’s there for all to see that you are at the lowest approval level evah! Rather than continue to ignore the will of the people and law of the land, we want you to either get back on the right path or reap the consequences of your actions. I suggest a scorched earth policy of anyone remotely connected with your evil regime be removed and prosecuted for any wrongdoing no matter how small.

Was not aware that being a mincing, sissy pitching, golf playing, healthcare destroying, constitution shredding douchebag was the job description for US President.

Thanks, Preznit Earflaps! You’re all of the above, and less!

The ape has been saying this for almost six years. he is biologically incapable of assuming responsibility for even a hint of failure. He remains a nasty, destructive, whining, semi-literate, vicious child.
No wonder the media supports him.

Standard left-wing tactic: shout the exact opposite of the truth with conviction.
He will be sued for precisely NOT doing his job.

I still believe we should suspend the accreditation of Harvard Law School. If this man graduated from there and has this understanding of the Constitution, there’s really something wrong. Not only that but he was President of the Harvard Law Review, what does that say about that group?

The purpose of divided government is compromise. Obama has never indicated a willingness to compromise. He’s a community organizer, at heart, and believes he has a pen and a phone and he can do what he wants so there’s no need to compromise. IT’s this ignorance of the constitution that’s baffling. It’s also the lack of pushback, from the Democrats, that’s difficult to fathom. I’m sure they believe they’ll hold all the power forever, but there’s going to come a day when they don’t.

However, after what happened in Mississippi, never underestimate the power of the stupid party to totally screw up an election. They have successfully made angry a large section of the party, a section that’s inclined to vote and a section that tends to agree with a majority of what the part espouses. I’m not exactly sure how this plays out, but if there was a place where the tea party candidate should have been allowed to have an even playing field, it was Mississippi. If the stupid party really believes the Democrats were helping Thad Cochran they’re out of their minds. The Democrats perceive Cochran as the weaker candidate, or at least one who might not make it 6 more years, so they’ll get to play again and take a chance on winning this seat.

Regardless, Obama is arrogant and wrong, which is why the Supreme Court unanimously tells him this. Will he listen? Of course not because he’s arrogant.

Technically, no…..but too many have allowed him to believe he is. At the very least our Imperial President. Little difference.
