Manic Liberal Dream Mayor Bill de Blasio busting more low-level pot users than Bloomberg

posted at 10:11 pm on June 11, 2014 by Mary Katharine Ham

The mayor came into office talking about the Two New Yorks, reforming the city’s drug policing, and lamenting the racial disparity in such arrests. Oops:

A month ago I noted that, despite a big drop in stop-and-frisk encounters during the first three months of Bill de Blasio’s tenure as mayor of New York City, low-level pot busts were down just 8.5 percent compared to the first quarter of 2013. Another month of data makes De Blasio and his police commissioner, Bill Bratton, look even worse on this front. According to the latest numbers from the Marijuana Arrest Research Project (MARP), New York cops busted an average of 80 pot smokers a day during the first four months of this year, slightly higher than the daily average of 78 under Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly during the same period of last year. Now as then, the arrestees are overwhelmingly (86 percent) black or Latino, overwhelmingly (79 percent) between the ages of 16 and 34, and overhelmingly (73 percent) first-time offenders. MARP concludes that “marijuana arrest patterns in the first four months of 2014 under de Blasio and Bratton are indistinguishable from those of their predecessors in 2013.”

Again, which high-profile liberal is required to live up to the Left’s values?

It’s almost as if liberal government often correlates with the exact opposite of the Left’s purported goals:

The folks at Bloomberg Rankings, drawing on U.S. Census data, have measured the level of inequality—the Gini coefficient—in each of the 435 U.S. congressional districts. It’s a fascinating list (and a map) that reveals all sorts of interesting things. Here’s one: 32 of the 35 districts in which inequality is greatest are represented by Democrats (Republicans represent two; the other is vacant). These districts are spread across the country, from the Northeast to the Southeast, to the West Coast, and even the Midwest.

Exit tweet: This is what progressive victory looks like. Those grassroots, rabble-rousing organizers:

So it’s the “low level” pot users he’s got issues with?

What about the dealers and traffickers?

Psychiatrists can help you with that big burden you carry, cozmo. Delusions can be eased with medications like H.a.l.d.o.l and sometimes, for a time, talk therapy can help you with your delusions, fears and paranoia, especially the ones you’re experiencing about your mother.

Did she “make you” eat fish on Mondays? Some sort of obsession you have there with fish-and-Mother.

Let me know if I can give you some numbers to call in your location, there are doctors there who can help you. But you’d at least have to wear a towel and wash your hair before you visit one of them, not that they haven’t seen people in your current state before, but a shower and some sort of skirt or towel would save the public from you while you visited.

I just got an email from a doctor in your location and he said he could see you even if you didn’t shower first.

I agree with you. “Revenue stream,” that’s what DeBlasio is protecting, that and aiming his campaign at the little people because they’re not going to rat out their sources.

Lourdes on June 11, 2014 at 10:28 PM

As Buckeye would say, send ‘em all to prison, and take away their assets ($$$), and if they’re caught peddling even a small amount of the evil weed then it’s the death penalty. That should provide some deterrent. If it doesn’t deter, as apparently it doesn’t in Saudi Arabia, it will nevertheless be cathartic for the rest of us. Lets not brook any more of that lazy lassitude and moral turpitude. Stop the evildoers!

Meanwhile … Shootings in NYC up 43 percent in the past month. Police Commissioner Bill Bratton is downplaying that, saying the number of murders in the city continues to fall, but you’d have to figure the criminals can’t remain lousy shots forever if they’re getting more practice, and sooner or later, the drop in deaths is going to start heading back towards Dinkins years territory.

“Often”? Leftists are retards Mary Katherine. They claim they are for personal freedom, rights, income equality and a non-racist society while they build a socialist survelance police state run by a fascist who is in bed with Wall Street and the banks with one of their major voting blocks, blacks, being the most racist group of any voters. They also use sexist and racist attacks as a tool to beat their opponents.

Leftist government is a cynical lie propped up by dumba$$es. Why do you think they want their voters poor, uneducated and on the dole? They need people who are too stupid and needy to figure this out.
