Still no Jeantel Huntsman in the list?

NotCoach on June 11, 2014 at 8:37 AM

How about we talk about immigration. How about we add Sarah Palin to the list.

Ted Cruz..& Rick Perry..

melle1228 on June 11, 2014 at 8:46 AM

Rick Perry is still an amnesty supporter who views illegal aliens crossing the border more favorably than he does American Citizens in other states.
If he ever grows up, I might support him.

astonerii on June 11, 2014 at 8:50 AM

2nd that melle

cmsinaz on June 11, 2014 at 8:52 AM

Eric Cantor has plenty of time to get a campaign going, I hear.

Good: Cruz, Walker, Bush, Perry, Pence

Bad: Rubio, Ryan, Kasich

Ugly: Christie, Rest of field

sauldalinsky on June 11, 2014 at 8:57 AM

Oh, come on, HA, what’s with the boycott of Palin? This is getting ridiculous. I hadn’t heard Susana Martinez was testing the waters to run, or even thinking about it. So why leave Palin off? I can’t believe how both stubborn and obtuse you are regarding this.

Just put her on next time, for pete’s sake, and get it over with. Do it once even just to prove something to yourselves, but put her on there. Your willfulness in leaving her off is telling.

theotherone on June 11, 2014 at 8:57 AM

cmsinaz on June 11, 2014 at 8:53 AM

Yup, He wants an open movement of people from Mexico to the United States.
He is against the fence.
In State Tuition for illegal aliens. Not for citizens from other states. If you do not agree with him, you have no heart.
Path to citizenship.

“My hope is both extremes of the debate get left outside. Those that say, well let’s go round up those citizens and deport them, or those that say, well, let’s round them all up and make them citizens and give them amnesty. Both of those are the extremes. Somewhere in the middle is where we’re going to end up.”

“If they want to be citizens of the United States, there’s the line right over there where it’s always been,” he said. “Go get in it. Go pay to appropriate dues to become a citizen of the United States.”

astonerii on June 11, 2014 at 9:01 AM

Other: Jeff Sessions for President!

Using that criteria, I’d say Palin isn’t any more likely to run than Martinez.

That having been said, I will agree it’s stupid to leave Palin off the list but include Mitt Romney and Ben Carson, two men who are almost certainly not going to run.

Ted the Average on June 11, 2014 at 9:10 AM

HA – thank you for using Scott Walker as the picture for this survey.

He is the man.

jake-the-goose on June 11, 2014 at 9:11 AM

I added Allen West just to cover my Conservative bona fide!

texgal on June 11, 2014 at 9:13 AM

HA – thank you for using Scott Walker as the picture for this survey.

He is the amnesty man.

jake-the-goose on June 11, 2014 at 9:11 AM

Yup, he sure is.

If you want to come here and work, we will make room for you. Just push these citizens off to the side, there, plenty of room for you illegal aliens…

astonerii on June 11, 2014 at 9:18 AM

Had to vote “Other”… again.

No Eric Cantor? LOL

Sorry, can’t help but gloat a little this morning.

Fallon on June 11, 2014 at 9:20 AM

No Palin, no peace.

idesign on June 11, 2014 at 9:26 AM

Absolutely NO Jeb Bush, who loves illegal immigrants so much! Jeb Bush should run for president of Mexico instead to show his “Act of Love” for illegal immigration!

Other than that, I do not like any of these GOP presidential candidates well enough to support them for the primary. But I would probably vote for him/her in a general election.

You’re so colorblind you forgot to bold Dr. Carson. Just sayin’…

ncinca on June 11, 2014 at 9:55 AM

Why no Palin? Martinez? Has she ever said that she might be a candidate? Ben Carson? Has he ever stated he might run? Where do you get this crap?

inspectorudy on June 11, 2014 at 10:03 AM

No Palin, No Play.

And you know better, Patrick (or whomever is pulling your strings) …

ShainS on June 11, 2014 at 10:15 AM

I stand with Walker. Hopefully the Cantor debacle will make him a lot less squishy on immigration reform.

WisRich on June 11, 2014 at 10:21 AM

What is the point of adding Palin to this poll?

She isn’t going to run. Although, to be fair, most of the others probably aren’t going to run either…

Ok, I answered my own question. :)

Nineball on June 11, 2014 at 10:29 AM

Any Republican gets my vote because not voting because I don’t like the Republican candidate is a vote for the Democrat. Will we Republicans ever learn that?

COgirl on June 11, 2014 at 10:33 AM

Ok, I answered my own question. :)

Ted Cruz..& Rick Perry..

melle1228 on June 11, 2014 at 8:46 AM

My top two votes also. If I had a third, it would be Pence.

How are those quotes reflective of open borders?
Secure our borders first. Then tackle that daunting problem.

nottakingsides on June 11, 2014 at 10:52 AM

Call me a racist as you please but I’ll be wary of dark-skinned politicians in the White House for a long time. Barry Soetoro and Herman Cain have heavily poisoned that well for me, and Condi Rice is no heavens’ gift, either.

Any governor will be fine with me. Jindal is boring, Perry is dumb, and Martinez has no national profile but I’ll cast a ballot for them with an easy heart. Rand Paul used to me my first-rank vote but he’s so busy sucking up to the Powers That Be, the bloom is off that rose. Ted Cruz is a dream candidate but it’s just not going to happen. So it’s Scott Walker now – stainless-less balls, blue collar appeal, and knows how to win and stick it to the enemy, and I doubt he’ll root for amnesty any more given the results of VA primaries. What’s not to like?

Rix on June 11, 2014 at 10:52 AM

Ted Cruz…eod.

Perry? …bought and paid for…oops

thedevilinside on June 11, 2014 at 10:55 AM

It’s stupid not to include Palin in the poll. Even if (and most likely) she doesn’t run, you will get a view of the readers that take the time to fill out the poll.

Garym on June 11, 2014 at 11:12 AM

Many asked to have Sarah added.. you ignored.. so I ignore poll.

Cruz. Perry.

davidk on June 11, 2014 at 12:01 PM

He’s not my first choice and has his share of heresies, but where’s Brian Sandoval? He’s about to roll up a big re-election win in Nevada, which makes him immediately more viable than a bunch of people on that list (Scarborough, Huckabee, really?)

LukeinNE on June 11, 2014 at 12:44 PM

You people ignore Palin, Haley and Bachmann, yet you put Stupid Joe, Huckaphony and Mitt??? Patrick, you’re one sexist POS SOB!!!

conservative hispanic on June 11, 2014 at 12:57 PM

…if you want people to respond to a poll…have a real one!

KOOLAID2 on June 11, 2014 at 1:04 PM

Hm. Early afternoon, & still on page 1 of comments…

Is the voting frequency correlating with the comments, compared to earlier polls, Patrick?

Maybe there’s something missing?

(Oh, let me guess- everybody’s commenting on the Cantor earthquake. They probably don’t have time to scroll down the page & interact here…)

Bobby Jindal followed by Perry, Walker and Cruz last because we could use him as Senate Majority Leader

cs89 on June 11, 2014 at 3:23 PM

Eric Cantor thinks we should talk about illegal immigration.

BuckeyeSam on June 11, 2014 at 9:01 AM

I completely agree that ILLEGAL immigration is a top issue (if not, THE top issue) and we should include it in the poll.

But we need to be specific, since the term “Immigration Reform” means different things to different people.

We need to replace the term “Immigration Reform” with “Enforcing laws against Illegal Immigration.”

We need to send a VERY CLEAR message that we want our immigration laws to be enforced.

wren on June 11, 2014 at 4:50 PM

I’m waiting for the survey that includes Eric Cantor ;)

I’ve done my last Hot Air data mining survey, oops, primary survey. The site ignores the immigration question and for some reason keeps including Morning Joe as a potential candidate, but omits Sarah Palin. Put Sarah as an option, what do they have to lose? If nobody votes for her, then Patrick can be vindicated and leave her off of future polls.

Ibanez Lotus on June 11, 2014 at 6:23 PM

Oh good. Two more comments.

In 3 hours….

Patrick, this should make it to the “Top Picks” side in no time!

LOL — thanks for monitoring this glacier movement today.

Love all the enthusiasm for this insulting non-poll …

ShainS on June 11, 2014 at 7:27 PM

Rand Paul, you lost any chance of my support now that you have joined the dark side unequivocally.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/jun/11/exclusive-rand-paul-throws-weight-behind-immigrati/

Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, and now Rand Paul. To hell with you all!

islandman78 on June 12, 2014 at 12:08 AM

Dude- is this poll still open, even after dropping off the front page?

I think this might be some kind of record for how long one of your presidential polls has been open, Patrick. Perhaps you should rethink your methodology or options?

cs89 on June 12, 2014 at 5:50 PM

Sorry I missed this yesterday. I spent most of it with a friend in the VA emergency room. By the time I finally made it home after sitting in a variety of hard, uncomfortable waiting and treatment room chairs, all I wanted to do was feed the dogs, grab a glass of iced tea and collapse on the couch.

Tinker on June 12, 2014 at 8:38 PM

Poll goes up 6/11- still open 6/13. What’s up with that?

Feel free to shoot me down with facts if I’m wrong, Patrick, but it looks like you’re probably not getting many people to vote in it. Maybe if you ask people repeatedly to offer ideas about candidates or issues, you should maybe… include them in subsequent polls?

I wonder if the poll results will be a “Friday evening news dump” for HotAir?

cs89 on June 13, 2014 at 10:34 AM

Poll still open?

Hm…
