Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

posted at 8:01 am on June 8, 2014 by Allahpundit

Wall-to-wall Bergdahl on the Sunday shows this morning, of course, with John Kerry tapped to be White House mouthpiece-in-chief on CNN’s “State of the Union.” Rarely are his interviews must-see but you might want to watch this one: Candy Crowley’s guaranteed to ask if he thinks Bergdahl’s being “swift-boated” by members of his unit. Kerry’s answer will tell us whether we’re now firmly in phase three of the fallout.

Keep an eye too on Dianne Feinstein, who’ll be on “Face the Nation.” The White House wants to frame the Bergdahl backlash as another tedious D.C. food fight driven by Republicans eager to find new reasons to bash Obama, but Feinstein’s complaints about Congress being kept in the dark are threatening that narrative. If she comes out this morning and criticizes the swap on the merits, either because the price paid was too high or because she’s come around on the “desertion” theory, O’s got a problem. The full line-up is at Politico.

If Obama isn’t Impeached….It sets a dangerous precedent wherein Presidents are not held accountable under the Law.

The GOP colludes in this corruption if they refuse to Impeach because of political calculation.

workingclass artist on June 8, 2014 at 8:09 AM

This is the latest and clearest example of Obama usurping legislative law and we as a nation have a legal constitutional remedy for president’s who break the law.

Impeachment.

The investigation(s) for such should begin…or we sanction this lawlessness in this administration.

Did anyone notice the touching farewell, Bergdahl in tears, at the exchange? Leaving his comrades. Taking one for the team to spring the leadership from Gitmo. How do you feel now suckers.

First.

Progressive hero Noam Chomsky is terrified of the surveillance state that has developed during the tenure of President Barack Obama, calling it a grave threat to our fundamental civil liberties.

(When you’ve lost Noam. Where is that Ned Pepper when you need a comment about obama’s popularity?)

Second. My observation from the active duty folks I work with, is that there is a level of anti-obama sentiment over Bergdahl that is like nothing I’ve ever seem before.

I wonder what kind of non-disclosure agreements they are making him sign – and if they will work. The Regime must be sweating this hard. Allah only knows what this guy might say.

Also, the “health emergency” story now a confirmed lie:

From the initial briefings given to senior military and civilian officials in the past week, Sergeant Bergdahl, 28, in some ways seems healthier than expected.

I’d like to think Feinstein will continue feeling all butthurt over the snub from teh Won, but I’m not optimistic.

In the not too distant past, US senators were quite conscious of their own importance in the schema of our government, and properly jealous of any infringement on their power by the Executive. After all, Presidents only hang around for 4 or 8 years, while Senators last forever…

Are these current Senate pukes such ideologues that having the ideology triumph is worth sacrificing their own power and prestige?

It appears to be so, but I would have bet serious money that Feinstein, for example, would have never tolerated having her personal importance denigrated and trodden upon by an upstart usurper and his neophyte administration.

It shows you that you actually can overestimate the venality of politicians.

No, The One is simply the progressive philosophy carried to the next level. Mystical, anti-civilization, enamored of any philosophy not based on fact, and willing to use force to bend the “enemy” (i.e., Western civilization) to his nebulous will.

In much the same way, Napoleon Bonaparte and Il Duce’ were examples of their movements (Jacobinism and socialism) carried one step further.

If it were carried to its logical conclusion, the progressive philosophy would look a lot like a deranged man, dressed in rags, sitting on a mountaintop, screaming

“DIEKILLYOUALLMAKEYOUSUFFERDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE!!”

at the top of his lungs, and throwing thunderbolts at random.

So far, we aren’t quite there.

Fascism is a Foreign ideology…To American shores and the American Psyche.

This is why it is doomed to fail…Like the Socialist Class argument is doomed to fail as well.

Our country was founded on the principle of Liberty from Europe’s never-ending Aristocratic Class and it’s impact on the imposed Class Structure.

Every other country is still tied to it’s colonial history of class structures based on ties to Royalty…even France.

We are the only Constitutional Republic that is legally founded through self declaration and a hard won revolution on breaking the ties to that class tyranny and this has become a foundational principle in the makeup of the American Psyche.

Propaganda Sunday, kids! DNCTV puts on their Sunday best and projects their goofy liberal worldview to the masses in a group One Hour Hate-fest.

Let’s have a gander:

“Meet the Press” on NBC
• Preempted by the French Open

BWWWAAAaaaaaa! Apparently NBC hates NBC even more than you do. Pretty soon they’ll be “preempting” the show for league Cricket matches.

“Face the Nation” on CBS
• Dianne Feinstein – Kook Left
• Saxby Chambliss – Conservative

I was about to label Chambliss a RINO and decided to look at the ACU Ratings, just to check myself. 90% Conservative Life rating. Pretty damn conservative … why do we expect more from Saxby? Because we definitely do.

“This Week” on ABC
• Mike Rogers – lame duck TV regular.
• Tom Cole – Conservative-ish
• Ed Murray – Socialist
• Bill Richardson – Liberal

ABC

“Fox News Sunday” on Fox
• Michael Mukasey – Spook

Politico has to be wrong … just Mukasey?

“State of the Union” on CNN
• John Kerry – Reminder: one of the Kook Left leaders for decades
• John McCain – One of the worst RINOs in GOP history

Just to be clear about who’s who. But this conversation is all about Bergdahl and O’Bozo’s incompetence. Could actually be fun.

“Political Capital” on Bloomberg TV
• Feinstein – Fixture

“Newsmakers” on C-SPAN
• John Barrasso – Conservative!

Context: there are many, many Democrats (see Grijalva at 96%) who vote 95% or more Kook Left, but very few Republicans who hit 95% for ACU. Barrasso does.

“Al Punto” on Univision
• Rand Paul – Libertarian Republican does Racist TV stint. This should be rich.

“Enfoque” on Telemundo
• McCain – RINO King
• Cecilia Muñoz – Kook Left/Affirmative Action/Racist
• Raul Grijalva – Kook Left/Affirmative Action/Racist

Nice entry for our second All About Mexicans TV entrance. Pretty soon NBC will be back from Europe doing Meet the Press in Spanish. Fun!

Well, there it is, Kids. Another Sunday with like three conservatives, several worthless RINOs, a bevy of Kook Left Liberals, and of course — moderated by the Kook Left. Maybe the best way to look at Sunday morning and my conservative lament is this: what if one of these shows was actually moderated by a conservative?

Can you imagine?

Jaibones on June 8, 2014 at 9:24 AM

No Excuse Too Flimsy For Obama Regime To Let Prisoners Out Of Gitmo, Even Taking Up Yoga…

“If you thought President Obama’s release of five top Taliban commanders in exchange for POW Bowe Bergdahl was bad, wait until you see what his Gitmo parole board plans.

Desperate to empty the Guantanamo Bay prison by the end of his term, Obama quietly is giving “get out of jail free” cards for the flimsiest of excuses.

One al Qaeda suspect captured in Afghanistan is considered reformed because he took up yoga and read a biography of the Dalai Lama. Another is eligible for release because of his “positive attitude.”

And one longtime detainee, a former bodyguard for Osama bin Laden, is now harmless because he’s going to start a “milk and honey farm.”

Unreal..total lawlessness..no doubt Burqa Bergdahl is being coached for his debut with convenient tales of torture.

Meanwhile, a senior U.S. official says Bergdahl tells military officials that he was tortured, beaten and held in a cage by his Taliban captors in Afghanistan after he tried to escape.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he’s not authorized to discuss what Bergdahl is saying while being treated at a U.S. military medical facility in Germany.

It was like they were playing a game of “Fourteen Little Indians”. The National Security Adviser to the President of the United States says Bergdahl served with honor and distinction. No mention made of the 14 American Soldiers who died looking for him. The enlisted men should be especially enraged that it has fallen to 6 of their numbers from Bergdahl’s unit to have the moral courage to try to get the truth out while their officers still all remain silent even when an Obama appointee says the enlisted men from Bergdahl’s unit speaking the truth are all psychopaths. In fact, I wouldn’t turn my back on those who aren’t mad.

God will, but it would HELP considerably if all of the Christian believers would start PRAYING to God for help and guidance.
.
I’d like to see today’s liberals put before a board of inquiry, where you have George Washington, James Madison, General George S Patton, and the Rev & Dr Martin Luther King Jr on the panel of persons asking the questions.

We could continue adding more good names to this list, but I’ll start there.

I’m skipping to the bottom: Others may have already given you the thumbs up, but I certainly want to give mine right here. This is what we all need to do. Fervently, and often.

make no apologies for it. It was a unanimous decision among my principals in my government, and a view that was shared by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This is something I would do again and will continue to do whenever I have an opportunity.[Emphasis added] – Obama

Got that hostage-taker dudes? Gitmo is going out of business, and opportunities are limited, so grab em anywhere or be square.

Two things I got out of the Sunday talking heads. One was made that we feared attacking the group holding him for his safety BUT now their safety shield is gone. If so then can we expect to see some major hits in a week or two? I can wait and see. Next Kerry kind of made the back hand point that if we kept the 5 then the care and feeding is on us for ever BUT we many eyes on them if they step out of line we can shoot them and be done with them and still look like a good guy. Not a bad idea. Say what you will about this administration but they have not shown much hesitation to kill people in another country.

Meanwhile, a senior U.S. official says Bergdahl tells military officials that he was tortured, beaten and held in a cage by his Taliban captors in Afghanistan after he tried to escape.

Seems Muslims know how to treat those that desert them.

They can’t pray because they’re too busy complaining about the lack of Gay Welcomingness on this Pentecost Sunday or something.

Where is this deserter?

Schadenfreude on June 8, 2014 at 4:36 PM

Can you imagine?

Jaibones on June 8, 2014 at 9:24 AM

Yes. As always thank you very much! P.S. Saxby did a fine job for us early on in particular. Many here are thankful for him taking the hint and retiring. We are hopeful either Jack or Bill will do a good job for us all.

Thanks, B … and agreed. It takes a rare talent (Chambliss) to vote with us 90% of the time and still find a way to piss us all off on a regular basis. And he’s clever … I can’t even see his lips move.

How many billions were tossed in as a bonus to obtain a deserter traitor?

Will Bowe be appointed as Asst Secretary of State?
