Funny video showing Hillary’s lack of accomplishments also shows why Hillary’s probably going to be president

posted at 7:16 pm on May 14, 2014 by Allahpundit

Via PJTV, I know you think you’ve heard this joke before — and you have, repeatedly, even though we’re still 18 months out from the election — but there are good reasons to watch. For starters, stick with it long enough and you’ll find a kid who’s writing his thesis about Hillary naming Benghazi as one of her major achievements. No foolin’. The bar for these man-on-the-street interviews is low but somehow this guy managed to sneak underneath.

The real reason to watch, though, is that Michelle Fields wisely took care to ask these people first how enthusiastic they are about her. Answer, in most cases: Very, despite the fact that they go blank when asked to name something impressive she did as Secretary of State (plus the fact that some of them couldn’t have been more than five years old when she was first elected to the Senate). They’re enthusiastic not because of what she’s done but because of who she is, the would-be first woman president. And that’s what makes her formidable — realistically, you’re not going to reason someone out of supporting a candidate for who she is. The Hopenchange phenomenon of 2008 is proof enough of that. What makes Hillary’s achievement in identity politics potentially even greater than Obama’s is that she’s supposed to be running as the experienced candidate, not the fresh-faced naif whose record is necessarily thin because he’s come from outside the Beltway to shake things up. She’s the ultimate “brand” politician posing as someone who’s running on a long string of achievements. I don’t know how you attack that given that most of the ugliest stuff about the Clintons has been public knowledge for decades and is already priced into that brand. Maybe younger voters will think twice when the scandals of the 90s are endlessly rehashed, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Just listen to them here. With Hillary on the ballot, some segment of the population is going to treat the election as a de facto referendum on whether “it’s time” for a woman president. They won’t be dissuaded by ads or Benghazi or Monica Lewinsky or anything else. The only real mystery for election 2016 is whether there’s enough of them among independents, in addition to stalwart party-line Democrats, to give Hillary an insurmountable majority.

Why do we even need a president Shrillary?? Bammy’s doing a smashup job, he’s had several years of pResidential experience, has far more stellar accomplishments and is years younger. I say he should go for a third term, and stay in the WH ’till he’s done all he’s set out to do, and surely won’t be able to finish in only two terms. And we can do away with the circus of uninspiring wannabes running for the office in ’16 completely. Saves time, money, tons of wasteful printed campaign materials and the dem convention in ’16 can simply be for the grand occasion and celebration of bestowing the title “President for Life” upon TEH WON.

We’ll see. The youth-wasted-on-the-young crowd are traditionally enthusiastic, but it seldom translates into mass turnout on election day; the main exception was Barry-O, and precisely because he promised a return to Camelot — only better, because of his skin color.

Hillary is going to keep looking older, and more tired, not less — and that’s even before the campaign begins. That, and there’s another 2.5 years of Obama Fatigue to consider, it’ll be hitting a high point in 2016.

Which isn’t to say that Evita Clinton won’t be a formidable candidate; the Media Arm of the Donkey Party will try mightily to carry her on a royal litter to the White House, just like they did with Barry-O, and when they’re not elbowing one another for a spot as litter-bearers they’ll be carpet-bombing whoever the Republican nominee is.

But if I were a donk, I wouldn’t be pinning my hopes on the young crowd next time around. Not for granny.

You’re right, and the remedy is hard.

The GOP candidate, not their surrogates or media pundits, the actual candidate, and his wife, family and veep – must shame and mock the idea of Hillary as Prez.

Compare her to all the GOP women. You stack her up to Condi, Martinez including Thatcher, just to show how small she really is. They have to emphasize Hill’s a front just so Bill can get a third term.

It has to blunt and direct so the media narrative is constantly “how can he say that”? Then when it comes time for the debates, people will expect her to push back and Hillary’s and it will look like a shtick.

Five of them – Rand, Cruz, Rubio, Perry and Christie – possess the ability to do it naturally. But the handlers will stop them.

The way to persuade people to change their position is to win their hearts. If you win their heart, their mind will follow. We decide with our emotions and then rationalize the decision with our minds.

While useful to rehash the lack of accomplishments that Hillary has on her resume, that won’t persuade a lot of people. It’s too “mind” oriented. The GOP needs to hammer her on her character flaws: she’s a pathological liar; she a calculating politician who accepted Bill’s bimbos so that she could ride his coat tails; she uncaring for our over-seas personnel when she ignored the pleas from Benghazi for more security; she is a sociopath who was able to lie without flinching to the faces of the parents about the video while standing in front of the caskets. The GOP needs to play up the emotions of those events to get people to see her in a new light. That will be what makes them turn on her.

One example, albeit with lots of rough edges: We’ve just spent 8 years being lied to. Do we want to be played for suckers for another 4 years from a woman who never met the truth.

Mallard T. Drake on May 14, 2014 at 7:54 PM

The GOP needs to take her seriously, as she will be a formidable candidate. But publicly, they have to show that they don’t take her seriously. They need to put her in “there you go again” positions, like Reagan did with Carter. Keep calling her out on her BS and lies. Show the millennials that her policies and views are the same as the ones that are robbing them of jobs. Make it personal for the young sheep and they may wake up and realize she is not their best choice for their interests.

Anyone who believes that we are anything other than another, run of the mill, misguided, piss-poor excuse for a country is delusional. That ship has sailed, my friends…all that remains are the riots, the clean up and the irrelevance. 238 years ain’t bad, really. But as one Dandy Don Meredith used to croon every Monday Night…”Turn out the lights…the party’s over…they say that all good things must end…”

There’d be nothing ‘insurmountable’ about Clinton (stop calling her ‘Hillary’, like she’s your good buddy) if the GOP would simply focus, to the exclusion of all else, on winning 65% of the white vote.

The GOP collapse among middle and lower income whites is just disgusting.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt her chances to have running dog enablers with cutesy ‘net handles among the ‘conservative’ commentariat.

AP’s, right, though. Fence-sitters will vote for Hillary for the same reason they voted for Obama: proof of their “progressive” (non-racist, non-misogynist) mentality.

For that reason, If the Repubs nominate another Romney-esque squish, Hillary’s a shoe-in. The only chance for the Repubs is if they nominate a firebrand who can take HIllary apart piece by piece, while avoiding gaffes.

If Hillary manages to get elected President, I predict it will be the death of the Democratic Party as we know it. Obama is yet able to shift blame onto GWB for his failures. Hillary won’t have that luxury.

Two utterly incompetent presidencies in a row will crater the Dem’s prospects for that office. And moving farther left may fit with popularism politics, but it will improve neither our domestic economic situation nor foreign policy stature.

Of course, if enough folks decide they want to (just) survive on the big government teat, all bets are off.

Behold… the “play date” generation. What a bunch of ‘tards.

You really want an eye opener, get a 1957 HIGH SCHOOL yearbook and read what the seniors were saying about their hopes for life, etc.

We should elect a monkey or a horse. I mean how cool would that be to be the first country to elect an animal as president. Maybe a tree. I mean who has ever elected a tree as president? Now that would be really cool.

This country as we know it will not survive another Democrat Regime.

Maybe we should elect the first illegal alien preezy of the United Steezy. Now how cool would that be?

His senior thesis is on her time as secretary of state and he thinks her handling of the crisis in Benghazi was amazing.

What kind of university is George Washington that this dimwit got all the way to his senior year? How did these morons get into college? Can it even be possible that their parents are smart enough to make enough money to send them there? Is the entire northeast built on a toxic dump that causes each generation to grow progressively more stupid? Now that I think about it, I didn’t hear one southern accent in the whole video. Are all yankees that incredibly stupid?

Jocularity aside, it was these types of beings that put the Bolsheviks in power in 1918, the Nazis in 1938 and the Khmer Rouge in 1975. I see no light at the end of the tunnel, America. Be ready.

peacenprosperity on May 14, 2014 at 9:47 PM

Oh yeah, and there was definitely nothing funny about that video.

peacenprosperity on May 14, 2014 at 9:50 PM

Greatest accomplishment is Benghazi???!!! Lord help us all.

kawfytawk on May 14, 2014 at 9:54 PM

Lmao. Like it was said above we are so screwed. Loved the soft power comment from one of those turds. Can we find that clip of “we came we saw he died” about Gadaffi?

LaughterJones on May 14, 2014 at 9:54 PM

We could set an example to the world: like, other countries haven’t had female leaders yet, dude.
