Funny video showing Hillary’s lack of accomplishments also shows why Hillary’s probably going to be president

posted at 7:16 pm on May 14, 2014 by Allahpundit

Via PJTV, I know you think you’ve heard this joke before — and you have, repeatedly, even though we’re still 18 months out from the election — but there are good reasons to watch. For starters, stick with it long enough and you’ll find a kid who’s writing his thesis about Hillary naming Benghazi as one of her major achievements. No foolin’. The bar for these man-on-the-street interviews is low but somehow this guy managed to sneak underneath.

The real reason to watch, though, is that Michelle Fields wisely took care to ask these people first how enthusiastic they are about her. Answer, in most cases: Very, despite the fact that they go blank when asked to name something impressive she did as Secretary of State (plus the fact that some of them couldn’t have been more than five years old when she was first elected to the Senate). They’re enthusiastic not because of what she’s done but because of who she is, the would-be first woman president. And that’s what makes her formidable — realistically, you’re not going to reason someone out of supporting a candidate for who she is. The Hopenchange phenomenon of 2008 is proof enough of that. What makes Hillary’s achievement in identity politics potentially even greater than Obama’s is that she’s supposed to be running as the experienced candidate, not the fresh-faced naif whose record is necessarily thin because he’s come from outside the Beltway to shake things up. She’s the ultimate “brand” politician posing as someone who’s running on a long string of achievements. I don’t know how you attack that given that most of the ugliest stuff about the Clintons has been public knowledge for decades and is already priced into that brand. Maybe younger voters will think twice when the scandals of the 90s are endlessly rehashed, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Just listen to them here. With Hillary on the ballot, some segment of the population is going to treat the election as a de facto referendum on whether “it’s time” for a woman president. They won’t be dissuaded by ads or Benghazi or Monica Lewinsky or anything else. The only real mystery for election 2016 is whether there’s enough of them among independents, in addition to stalwart party-line Democrats, to give Hillary an insurmountable majority.

The American education system on full display. FRIGHTENING!! These people can run what, exactly? Who wants to hire them other than the Democrat party?

Witness to strong evidence that Amendment XXVI to the US Constitution, ratified July 1, 1971 was a big mistake. It lowered the voting age to 18 because we had the military draft at that time and the sentiment in the country was that if people that age were old enough to be drafted and possibly killed in Vietnam they ought to be able to vote, too. We did away with the draft and these children we heard from George Washington U make me wish we could do away with Amendment XXVI, too.

Will the idiots vote for the spurned wife of BJ?

A bit of hope left in that box?

These people are prime examples of why we need affirmative action birth control in liberal families. They are the exhibit A’s of how any civilization can and will fall to a totalitarian dictator. How in the hotel did they ever rise to the level of university material? The one girl particularly showed her mettle when she said Hillary had so many accomplishments she couldn’t name one of them! Brilliant!!! Give her an A professor. I’m sure GW has as many tenured professors who are just as astute as these shining examples of academia. Frankly they are more dangerous to our Republic as the 30,000 plus violent illegal criminals Obama has foisted on us. God have mercy on this once so great of an experiment in freedom for humanity.

Small potatoes.

Now, if we could only repeal XIX, we could fix most of the problems in a few years.

I doubt it as well, mostly because the MSM won’t cover those scandals and Benghazi. And if they do, it will be spun big-time or she will simply get a pass.

RMCS_USN on May 15, 2014 at 12:56 AM

Hillary is going to keep looking older, and more tired, not less — and that’s even before the campaign begins. That, and there’s another 2.5 years of Obama Fatigue to consider, it’ll be hitting a high point in 2016.

Which isn’t to say that Evita Clinton won’t be a formidable candidate; the Media Arm of the Donkey Party will try mightily to carry her on a royal litter to the White House, just like they did with Barry-O, and when they’re not elbowing one another for a spot as litter-bearers they’ll be carpet-bombing whoever the Republican nominee is.

But if I were a donk, I wouldn’t be pinning my hopes on the young crowd next time around. Not for granny.

Spurius Ligustinus on May 14, 2014 at 7:27 PM

I was thinking about the age factor too, I’m not an agist or anything, but in this particular context I can’t really see her inspiring young generations of (even lefty) voters, at least O has always been perceived as cool, hype, relatable, somewhat in touch with his contemporaries (though personally I think he’s stuck in the 68′ European type of politics, marxism and all that jazz, so also from a different era), he cultivates very publicly relationships with ‘cool’ people (see the lovefest with jay-z & beyonce, or with ‘cool’ comedians) and capitalize on them…while Hillary is milleniums removed from them, she is not charismatic, she’s unreletable, uncool, unhype, not exactly tech savvy….The only thing that works for her is that she’s a woman…well, fine, but an old one at it…dunno, she doesn’t sound like a done deal to me when it comes to younger generations of voters, though I am perfectly aware that the ‘wiminz’ narrative will be deployed day in and day out until it gets engraved in everybody’s collective pysche :), young or old…

A few weeks ago someone I work with told me he thinks it would be great to have a woman president.

For some reason, he didn’t like my suggestion of Sarah Palin.

Now let’s not go all Chicken Little because a bunch of college students INSIDE the Beltway are clueless. DC is like Panem in The Hunger Games. Insular and close-minded, these folks only know America’s economic decline in a remote and abstract way. It concerns them enough to trash the Tea Party and create a hashtag or two, but that’s about it. They are hardly typical of young voters’ perceptions nationwide.

iceman1960 on May 14, 2014 at 9:40 PM

bimmcorp on May 15, 2014 at 8:49 AM

“Benghazi was her high point.”

As others here have pointed out, these are college students at what is supposed to be a top school.

Raise the voting age. Right Now. Before the young can do us any more damage. Raise it to 26, since insurers are forced to keep them on their parents’ insurance until then.

Children shouldn’t be voting.

fadetogray on May 15, 2014 at 9:59 AM

So it appears the young think Hillary is a terrific choice for President because she’s female.

Okay. Let’s go with that, but skip the dynasty thing. Let’s have the general election be between Liawatha Warren and Sarah Palin.

Both of them care more about regular folks than Her Royal Clintoness does.

fadetogray on May 15, 2014 at 10:08 AM

We have to first realize that what candidates say or accomplishments no longer matter. In order to combat the inevitable first woman prez would be so cool mantra, the Reps need to put up a woman, or a popular governor who is good looking to the ladies and has a good sense of humor. And to be able to use that sense of humor in the campaign to curb the “mean attacks on a woman” crap that will also come from the other side.

If you aren’t willing to campaign against her (like McCain and Romney failed in playing nice with Obama) do not even apply.

jjjdad on May 15, 2014 at 10:14 AM

Let’s just get it over with and elect a Mexican-born Muslim who only speaks Spanish and Arabic, and will fill the cabinet with Drug Cartel members and Jihadists.

Give the Left what they really want, in the largest proportion.

What’s your,
What’s your maximum?

Somewhere out there is a future candidate that could probably meet every one of those criteria in the same election cycle.

First woman President; progressive; set example for the world? Germany, England, Israel and many other countries have had women as leaders, he really needs to do some research and learn history. God help us, these people VOTE. None of them talked about qualifications, she is a woman and a Clinton, that qualifies her. Man, ain’t public education wonderful.

namvet6869 on May 16, 2014 at 7:53 AM

Hillary Clinton is not going to be President.

And the reason is simple: She isn’t cool.

She’s not cool; she’s not hip; she’s not going to be anyone’s idea of a Lightworker. Granted, she is a woman, but she’s a woman to these morons right now strictly in the abstract. The problem for her is she’s got to run a campaign. And as a campaigner, well…

She just can’t pull off Barry O’s stirring rallies, mellifluous voice and soothing tone, all rolled into one.

My bet is that most of these chuckleheads would have voted for Obama for all of the above. And while they might think the idea of a woman president his cool, when it comes down to going to the polls and voting for a fat, hectoring, shrill old woman…they’re just not going to be enthused enough to do it.

You heard it here first.

Typhoon on May 16, 2014 at 1:56 PM

I really enjoyed the one about when they asked if John Boehner should be forced to resign for his ‘racist statement’ about not liking Mexican food (on Cinco de Mayo of all days!). LOL

It would really be funny if these people simply suffered the consequences of their own stupidity, and didn’t have so much negative impact on the rest of us.

It would really be funny if these people simply suffered the consequences of their own stupidity, and didn’t have so much negative impact on the rest of us.

If only S1im… IF ONLY!

Unfortunately we have to swim in the same pool as these… people. They all faceplanted as soon as they were asked to name Hillary’s Greatest accomplishment at state. Except Mr Thesis.. he just blathered all over him self… Wow, Scary.

The Greatest rational they could come up with for having Hilary as president was Pick one:

1) It’s time for a woman to be president, Cause that would set a precedent or something… Margret? … Margret Thatcher who?!

2) Its time for a woman to be president, cause that would be cool. Never mind the need for real leadership, we just need to look cool.

3) Its time for Hilary to be president, Cause we had 2 Bushes, so another clinton seems right. Lets establish Hereditary Rule! Woot!!!

4) Hilary Should be president because she is such an accomplished leader, just don’t look at her record, Kai? .. Kewl, Thanksbai!

5) Hilary Should be president because she’s just the greatest thing EVER!!!! Woooooot!

I am embarassed for these people.

Endunamoo on June 19, 2014 at 9:52 AM

Unfortunately those young people don’t know that Hillary would not be the first woman president in the world. Of the top of my head I can give you two: Argentine and Lithuania. So this race is over. But, if those kids want something reaaaaly cool, how about the first Black Woman for president? Condoleezza Rice.
