Question for Tim Kaine, Hillary supporter: What exactly does Hillary stand for?

posted at 2:01 pm on May 5, 2014 by Allahpundit

Via the Free Beacon, which notes correctly that this isn’t the first time a “Morning Joe” segment has come up empty when pondering Her Majesty’s qualifications. You’d think that a guy who ostentatiously endorsed her over the weekend and who’s clearly eager to be on her shortlist for VP would come better prepared to discuss the elephant in the room. But then, what could he say, realistically? Asking someone to discuss Hillary’s policy achievements is like asking someone to discuss the dramatic strengths of “The Walking Dead.” You can “prepare” all you want; there’s simply no good answer to be had.

Emphasis on “good answer.” There are no less than three bad answers to the question Mika’s asking about Hillary’s message. Answer one: Her message is that Republicans are racists who hate the poor and must be stopped. That will, in fact, be a core plank of Hillary’s campaign — anyone but the GOP! — but it’s a bad answer when you’re being asked, as Kaine is, why you support one Democrat over another. Answer two: Her message is that it’s about time we had a woman president and she’s the most famous woman in American politics, so QED. That idea accounts for roughly 75 percent of what’s motivating Hillary fans these days, I’d guess, but it never seems so lame and shallow as when it’s offered in reply to a question about qualifications. Kaine did mention it right up front in his op-ed about Hillary this weekend — points for honesty at least — but it would seem ridiculous offered here in response to Mika’s dissatisfaction.

Answer three: She’s running for a third Clinton term (and/or, if Obama’s job approval rebounds before 2016, a third Obama term too). What makes that answer bad is, well, this.

pew

Every election is a “change” election. What Hillary has going for her is that Bill Clinton is sufficiently well liked and fondly remembered for economic growth that she might be able to turn 2016 into a “change back” race, i.e. America should revert to Clintonism. (It’d be especially easy to run on that if the GOP is running its own de facto “change back” campaign by nominating Jeb Bush.) But that too would feel ridiculous if Kaine floated it as a serious qualification: The first woman president will hopefully get elected for something more substantial than the nostalgia she evokes for the administration of her husband. Kaine has no choice but to babble about her experience, even though there’s zero “message” in that.

Exit question: Is it even true on its own terms that Clinton is the most experienced big-name politician that Democrats have? John Kerry spent nearly 30 years in the Senate, managed a presidential campaign that fell one state short, and has already set a far bolder agenda as Secretary of State than Hillary did.

Nada!

But this

But if we allow our nation’s leaders to let politics obscure how our government works, we are making a fatal mistake. That’s how fools lose the Republic.

And those four in Benghazi weren’t fools. They died for our country, and years of political cover-up can’t obscure that.

Again, their names were Stevens, Smith, Doherty and Woods.

They didn’t die for politics.

Well what the hell did Obama accomplish prior to being crowned by the media as The Savior of America?

Democrats don’t care that they can’t name one thing either of them have done that’s meaningful. They’ll just do what the Clintons and the Democrats always do – attack and smear their opponents and keep the focus on them. The media will be hopping right along with them.

I’m pretty sure I’ve been saying that all along. That’s what Hillary’s campaign will be. Maybe not officially, but implicitly. Elect me and you get the Clintons back in the White House and we can return to the glory days of the 1990′s when the economy was booming and the world was at peace. That’s all a farce obviously. Bubba “inherited” a recovery from Bush 41 and the end of the Cold War from Reagan/Bush. Hillary would be handed a disaster from her former boss, Barry.

Plus it kinda undercuts Hillary as a model of feminism if she needs to gravy train off of her husband’s record in order to get elected, but that’s nothing new for her. It’s how she became a Senator back in 2000.

As for why not someone like Kerry or Bite Me instead of Hillary, it’s pretty simple. The Dems can’t win with an old white dude running. They almost have to put up a minority or female candidate now in order to win a Presidential election thanks to the makeup of their party’s base.

So here’s a question. If we are to elect Hillary because she is female (allegedly, and count me out of the qualifications examination board on that–I’ll take Huma’s word for it)–but she has no accomplishments, right? No policy that we can point to. No track record.

Then why elect Hillary, instead of, say, Angelina Jolie, who also has no political track record but is much easier on the eyes? I mean, if the main thing is that Hillary has curves in the right places, then I’d much prefer Angelina’s curves. Heck, why not Britney Spears? Probably smarter than Hillary, looks far, far better, and I believe she is a republican, or was at one point. Kept on the down low, of course.

Britney certainly checks all the boxes Hillary does: International traveler–after all, Britney’s performed in all sorts of countries. Been in dangerous situations like Hillary’s sniper fire. Has the lowlife philandering hubby, only Britney dumped hers. The token child. Britney holds her alcohol better too. The only problem, I think, might be the age requirement.

Why not Britney 2016? Just as much sense as Hillary!

H.R. Clinton married a Rhodes scholar and rode his coat tails all the way through the White House, to the NY Senate, and into the Secretary of State appointment.

Now she wants those magical coat tails to get her the Presidency.

She has used a man to get where she wanted to go all of her life. She struck that same deal with Bill Clinton when they were both still in college and the price she paid for that free ride was allowing herself to become the butt of the Jennifer Flowers affair jokes, the Monica Lewinsky affair jokes, always playing the good political wife, and then, at the height of her humiliation before the world, culminating in the public declaration that she was going to continue to ‘stand by her man’ as he was impeached.

That’s not an independent woman. That’s not feminism. This is the profile of an inveterate user.

Doughboy on May 5, 2014 at 2:10 PM

The “Clinton Economic Recovery” actually began in March of 1991, according to Fed stats. That was 18 months before the 1992 election. So the Democrat Media kept that Inconvenient Truth a secret; the NY Times finally got around to admitting their corruption in…1999.

And let’s not forget, Hillary’s husband’s policies also left us the original 9/11 attacks. Bush inherited those.

Hillary has a major problem though-she voted for the Iraq War.

No age requirement problem for Britney Spears. Britney turns 35 in December 2016, after the election but before the Electoral College meets. Tired as we are of the beaters of the racist drums, they are wielding tremendous forces that I can’t believe they’ll give up. Charges of sexism are milque-toast in comparison.

Despite the jokes about overdrawn race cards, we recently witnessed the hysterics of those even here on HA and elsewhere in the theoretically conservative blogosphere (not to mention the MSM) who scrambled furiously and loudly to prove that THEY don’t support horrifying racist cattle ranchers and billionaires. I think it was a demonstration of the psychological phenomena known as “Please please don’t get any on me”.

It just works too well- racist talk against black folk is officially worse than anything else in the universe, including anti-semitism and possibly pedophilia, (certainly hebephilia ).

The more I think about it, the more Britney would make a great candidate for the Democrats to stumble over. What could she be attacked on? That she needs her daddy to sign off on stuff? So what–doesn’t Hillary basically saying “elect me and you get Bill in the bargain?” Hillary’s been a senator; with no effect. Britney certainly has lots of ability to drive fans crazy.

Plus, her killing argument: “Look at me. Look at Hillary. Since neither of us have any political accomplishments, except we know that Hillary can’t answer the 3 AM phone call–who would you rather look at for the next 4 years? If it’s important to get a set of boobs in the whitehouse, mine are much better than hers!”

And she has probably has some cash to run–if her dad lets her use it.

Of course, this is all a dream. Britney would totally highlight how horrible a candidate Hillary is. Just think what Palin could do against Britney……

When you have accomplished less in life than John Francis Kerry, you might as well have never been born.

Hillary’s main theme will be abortions for all.

George Will recalled the famous 1980 interview of Ted Kennedy by Roger Mudd (back when TV newsmen actually had reporting experience). Mudd asked Teddy WHY he wanted to be President and Teddy hemmed and hawed and mumbled incoherently and his fledgling candidacy, awaited by Democrats since 1968, was stillborn.

Hillary herself can’t give any reason for running, or any achievements that depended on her being in the Senate or at Foggy Bottom. She’s still got a year and a half to think of some, though.

After cleaning up the projectile vomit that your comment induced, I can now respond.

First of all, Ms. Jolie has curves, whereas Killary just has lumps and bumps.

Second, Angelina has curves in places that the she-beast doesn’t even have places! That witch doesn’t wear those pantsuits because she thinks they’re stylish.

Third, Angie (as I like to call her in our intimate imaginary moments) has probably done more good with her UN post as a special envoy than the Devil’s mistress has ever done in her whole life.

Fourth, she’s automatically disqualified, since she chooses to adopt, rather than abort. That flies in the face of the Democrat base.

I won’t comment on Brittney, except to say she seems to have the same addiction to alcohol and bad decisions that Ms. Rodham has.

Why did Obama run, besides to heal the nation’s differences of race and economic disparities and infighting in Washington? The account I heard was they were tossing around ideas in 2007, one of them was health care, and he half-heartedly went with that. “Yeah. Health care reform. Sure. Why not.”

Compare Obama to other recent Presidents who’ve stood up for something, FDR we have nothing to fear, Truman the buck stops here, Eisenhower defeated the Nazis, JFK we will go to the moon, Reagan defeated communism, Bush 41 this will not stand, Bush 43 on 9/11 we are at war, and Obama …

Who would believe anything Obama said anyway? Red lines, promises, stands. Isn’t Hillary the same way? What does she stand for?

LashRambo on May 5, 2014 at 4:11 PM

Hillary is a political creature who believes in nothing except her own power.

She’s old enough to have Lead plumbing.

She allegedly has the right plumbing. Isn’t that enough?

Texas Zombie on May 5, 2014 at 2:03 PM

Maybe more accurate to say “she has the right costume and act.”

I’ve never found Kaine to be respectable, something about him just oozes “liar, liar, liar, I’m a lyin’ liar…”

Can’t stand him.

Herself

“We’ve never had a woman as President, and so it’s time.”

Nor have we yet had a President with elephantine cankles—-nor, for that matter have we had a Capuchin monkey with a little round hat and a drum as President. But, so what.
We should be able to do better than a woman whose plan entering her tenure as Secretary of State was “Just don’t f**** up.”

And yet, she did.

And the Democrats will blithely ignore these inconvenient details of reality, and vote for her. Because raaaacism, and War on Wimmens, ‘n stuff.

And just what, specifically does Hillary Rodham Clinton have to be proud of, pal? Inquiring minds want to know…

bimmcorp on May 5, 2014 at 4:47 PM

It’s Hillary’s turn. She’s paid her dues, being married to the most womanizing President since John F Kennedy, and having to put up with Brain Dead foreign relations ideas from Barack Obama. Somehow, that deserves a reward until you watch the Benghazi investigation video of Hillary saying,

“What difference, at this point, does it make? ”

Based on that one statement, it is possible to build an entire anti-Hillary compaign.

In fact, the idea was tossed around for a speech, a mention. It was well-received by the base – and a foray into Hillary’s territory, since she was the face of “health care reform” in the ’90s (no wonder it failed with a face like that, eh?).

Hillary never even articulated any reason she wanted to be in the Senate, much less President, or why she’d run in New York (other than that she was a “life long Yankee fan” from Chicago – as if). She didn’t need to do any more to be crowned by the dark blue NY Democratic Party, and didn’t think it would take much more effort to get the Presidential nod, until she was ambushed from the left by Obama.

Kaine, Plouffe, and MacAuliffe: the three Obama Amigos.

All revolting to behold in the extreme.

Her message is that it’s about time we had a woman president and she’s the most famous woman in American politics, so QED.

Then why not President Oprah?

Three decades of stupid ideas, dumb moves, and rent-seeking isn’t normally a qualification for the most prestigious and powerful office in the world.

But then there’s Obama.

Socratease on May 5, 2014 at 5:15 PM

What exactly does Hillary stand for?

Massive incompetence? Rank dishonesty? Blatant corruption?

So in other words she’s a Democrat?

theblackcommenter on May 5, 2014 at 5:33 PM

I think a debate between Hillary and Sarah Palin would be awesome. Of course, Hillary would be too chicken sh!t to do that.

Question for Tim Kaine, Hillary supporter: What exactly does Hillary stand for?

A victory in the fictional GOP “War on Women”. That, and more free stuff for Dem voters, paid for by confiscating money from “The Wealthy”.

That’s about it.

farsighted on May 5, 2014 at 7:19 PM

hahahahahahaha! Liberals are so stupid, it defies imagination.

Same as any GOP presidential candidate. Nothing. Which will make the debates interesting…. Not.

Brock Robamney on May 6, 2014 at 5:20 AM

She’s a dud.

Sounds like every other Dem candidate they’ve put up. So, yeah, I can see the nutters getting behind her and pushing like he!! to get her elected. Why not? Who else do they have that can continue the ruination of the U.S.A.
