Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

posted at 8:01 am on May 4, 2014 by Allahpundit

Benghazi probably would have been the lead story on the Sunday shows today purely by dint of Ben Rhodes’s e-mail but Boehner announcing a select committee yesterday cinched it. Among the Republican headliners booked this morning to discuss next steps: Jason Chaffetz on “Meet the Press,” Kelly Ayotte on “Fox News Sunday,” and Lindsey Graham, who called the White House “scumbags” for not releasing Rhodes’s e-mail sooner, on “Face the Nation.” Actual quote:

“Some guy said this about me yesterday on the left: The only reason I cared about this was because I have six tea party opponents. Well, if that’s true, I’m the biggest scumbag in America,” he said…

The radio host thanked Mr. Graham for “fighting the good fight” and holding those accountable, to which the senator replied: “The scumbags are the people in the White House who lied about this.”

How dare anyone call a guy capable of saying things like this a scumbag. As you watch, remember that Grahamnesty probably has another 25-30 years in the Senate ahead of him. Good work, South Carolina.

Elsewhere, Rick Perry will be on MTP to celebrate Toyota’s relocation from California to Texas. Romney was “the business candidate” in 2012. Is Perry the business candidate in 2016? The full line-up is at Politico.

Scumbag might be UNDERSTATING it….
Just sayin….

Neal4007 on May 4, 2014 at 8:08 AM

Today’s DNC Media Propaganda exercise will be apparently focus on two issues which animate the kook left like almost nothing else – amnesty for the latest batch of illegal aliens (“broken system”, “living in the shadows”, blah blah blah) and Our Long Overdue National Conversation on Race, Take 1,295.

Look forward to a parade of amnesty shills from both parties and high-profile, successful blacks being asked how on earth they overcame the pervasive white American racism and succeeded. They won’t ask any conservative blacks why other blacks hate them or why white liberals can spew hateful racist rhetoric at them without fear of reproach by or Moral Betters, but that’s for another day, I guess?

Let’s have a gander:

“Meet the Press” on NBC
• Rick Perry – pro-amnesty conservative
• Jason Chaffetz – conservative who hasn’t yet declared for amnesty
• Kevin Johnson – corrupt black liberal Democrat
• Anita Dunn – Remember her? Obama’s debate coach who named Mousy Dung as her favorite political philosopher. Yeah … kook left.

“Face the Nation” on CBS
• Lindsey Graham – radical amnesty shill RINO
• Eric Garcetti – LA Mayor, amnesty shill, kook left
• Richard Williams – race victim, presumably

“This Week” on ABC
• Al Franken – the long-awaited emergence of clownish lefty from hiding; kook left
• Rick Santorum – conservative
• David Pouffe – gay kook left
• John Oliver – Brit kook left jackass
• Mark Leibovich – NYT liberal … don’t know much about him … anyone?
• Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – our long-overdue blah race … black Muslim

“Fox News Sunday” on Fox
• Kelly Ayotte – RINO
• Adam Schiff – kook left liberal (6.81)
• Fred Smith – CEO FedEx, described as “mainstream Republican” – look for amnesty shilling
• Robert Wolf – kook left Dem fundraiser (Kerry Obama)

“State of the Union” on CNN
• Ron Johnson – conservative
• Eliot Engel – kook left (nearly identical ACU rating to Schiff 6.46)

“Political Capital” on Bloomberg TV
• Anthony Foxx – Admin affirmative action tool, generic race Dem

“Newsmakers” on C-SPAN
• John Hoeven – Newest RINO and bitter disappointment

“Al Punto” on Racist TV / Univision
• Garcetti – LA Mayor, amnesty shill, kook left
• Bob Goodlatte – conservative and recent convert to amnesty shilling
• Joe Arpaio – hilariously anti-amnesty Sheriff in AZ

Wherein Racist TV suddenly realizes that only putting on Mexican guests might give the wrong impression. Here instead we have actual Americans discussing U.S. immigration policy. How refreshing…

Scorecard: A little more diverse than in recent week, but only four conservatives all day, countless kook left liberals, naturally. Strong Admin presence and usual RINO dopes.

MTP wonders why it has problems:

• Kevin Johnson – corrupt black liberal Democrat
• Anita Dunn – Remember her? Obama’s debate coach who named Mousy Dung as her favorite political philosopher. Yeah … kook left.

I guess Johnson is on to give the Sterling thing more fuel. Why Dunn needs to meet anyone is beyond me. She’s irrelevant.

BuckeyeSam on May 4, 2014 at 8:29 AM

Perry was always the pro-jobs, pro-business candidate. His amnesty comments were mild compared to what we’ve heard from every other Republican since. Perry was responding to a unique problem as a border state governor , and his constituents overwhelmingly approved of the job he was doing.

Screw Bachman and Cain and Palin and their supporters for driving him out of the race too soon. If Perry is asked this time which agencies he would cut, he should say Energy, Commerce and DHS.

Another brick in the Wall of Propaganda.

Lindsey’s letting his ego get to him again. He’s not the biggest scumbag in America. He has too much competition to claim that title. Biggest scumbag in South Carolina, maybe.

The primary in SC is June 10th. We’re entering the stretch run where Graham’s opponents will start spending the funds they’ve been saving for this vital period in the campaign. I urge all South Carolinians to pick one of Graham’s challengers and vote. Let’s force a runoff and prove Eeyorepundit wrong about how long Grahamnesty will remain in office.

As I’m sure most of you are aware, I have my choice, and he’s the one with the biggest warchest.

Oh goody, we have former Kongress Kreep Democrap Jane “Too Wealthy to Count It All” Harmon, also now advising other corporate entities on security at the board level as she just advertised on her appearance at Fox News Sunday, mouthing off that the Democrat Øbowma Administration was simply displaying legitimate “confusion” about why the Benghazi attack occurred, not lying from the outset. Well, Mme. Former Kongresswoman Harmon, that is simply unacceptable.
.
That, you arrogant twit, is called incompetence. There is no reason to be “confused” when a CIA installation is less than a mile away from the State Department installation and reported what was happening within hours. You should be happy that a Benghazi Select Committee will be appointed and that it will, possibly, have no Democrats participate. That means that the committee will be able to offer a unified voice in service of the dead Americans and not a bunch of political Horse Schitt that permeates every lying Democrat’s question and answer.
.
Just for giggles, I nominate Charles “Wut Rental Housing?” wRangel as a Democrat member of The Benghazi Select Committee. Oh yeah, and KongressKritter Jane also said Vince Foster wasn’t murdered, right out of the blue just like some paranoid delusional mental case. So, there’s that the she has going on, too.

No, Grahamnasty, it is your supposedly conservative opponents in the primary that are the biggest scumbags. If they really wanted to defeat you they would have bowed out and united behind one candidate who could take you out.

But bringing home the bacon is just too important to the citizens in South Carolina. For shame!

Thank God that Senator DeMint had the temerity to suggest Tim Scott as his replacement and Governor Haley had the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing.

Jayrae on May 4, 2014 at 9:46 AM

Actually, the larger field of candidates may help to take Lindsey down. If no candidate gets above 50% of the votes in the primary, a runoff between the top two is required. Graham’s challengers combined have a better chance of siphoning enough votes away from him to keep him below 50%. Most of the challengers have pledged to support whoever goes up against Graham in a runoff, as will I.
That would allow a two week blitz to focus on a united challenge by the one who has proven to be the strongest candidate.

He sells it via Ethanol, a lot of people forget that most of the plain states love big spending, just don’t be too big on abortion or gay marriage and you can win their as a Democrat.

Keep in mind that until 2010 North Dakota was represented in Congress by an all-Democrat delegation.

It might be more then two weeks, the Carolina Conservatives United Pac decided to file a motion asking for a longer period for the runoff, due to the military being possibly disenfranchised by the shorter week.

The group is run by The Howes ( of Redstate and Rightscoop) and Bruce Carroll ( formerly of GOProud, left it sometime early 2013, otherwise known as gaypatriot)
