David Plouffe: A “loud, delusional minority” is driving this Benghazi non-scandal

posted at 5:01 pm on May 4, 2014 by Erika Johnsen

A bit more eloquent than the “Dude, that was like, two years ago” dismissal, perhaps, but the sentiment is more or less the same: The White House is not going to budge on the endless obfuscation, admit that they ever deliberately tried to spin a more favorable false narrative, nor back down from the claim that this is an oh-so-tired nothingburger in which Republicans are miring themselves to their own supposed disadvantage. Lovely.

To believe that the right’s hostility to Obama stems mostly from his race is actually comforting, since it suggests that the next Democratic president won’t have it nearly as bad. If you believe that, Hillary Clinton has a bridge she’d like to sell you. — Peter Beinart

I think we’re more likely to get Obama’s foreign student application to Harvard and Columbia released than they will ever admit where he was (in bed sleeping soundly) while the Benghazi attacks were happening.

ConstantineXI on May 4, 2014 at 5:13 PM

A “loud, delusional minority”

Translation: ‘Howling madmen’.

So, from juvenalian statements, “Dude, that was like two years ago.” to outright slander.

And they had to call in Plouff to come up with it.

How far is this from Pelosi and her ‘angry mobs’ statement of 2009? Or her insistence that she’d seen ‘Nazi armbands’ at a town hall meeting when none existed. Or when she and Steny Hoyer collaborated on an op-ed piece labeling their fellow Americans as ‘un-American’ for their disagreements with the ‘health care reform’ legislation both were determined to pass despite a clear majority of Americans being opposed to the legislation.

Frankly, I’d have thought Plouffe could be more original considering his lofty position and hefty paycheck.

Interesting that you mention that…from Paul Mirengoff @ Power Line, earlier this afternoon:

I have heard from contemporaries of Obama at Harvard Law School that he liked to make it known that he had not self-identified as Black when he applied. Apparently, Obama did not people to think of him as an affirmative action admittee.

Of course, Obama’s name might well have been enough to alert Harvard that he would add to its “diversity.” If Obama also told Harvard that he was born in Kenya, then he left even less to chance.

Del Dolemonte on May 4, 2014 at 5:28 PM

As Richard Nixon would tell you, the scandal wasn’t breaking into the DNC headquarters… it was the cover-up the ensued. The Obama Administration is eyeballs-deep in criminal concealment of facts relative to the deaths of four Americans, left to die out of political expediency.

TarheelBen on May 4, 2014 at 5:40 PM

David Plouffe, like Obama and all the others in the Obama Administration, is an utterly depraved human being, a lot so low that all other lots they should envy. No one has deluded Benghazi into his mind. Around 30 Americans were placed in a very dangerous situation, denied anything like even adequate security and then abandoned to be brutalized and killed. Only because of the courageous and self sacrificing actions of two former Navy Seals, who disobeyed orders to abandon the others, did the death toll not go way above 4. And ever since, Obama and his also depraved spokes liars (Clinton, Rice, Petraeus, etc., etc., Plouffe, and Obama himself), have told nothing but Goebbels level lies about what was going on to lead to such catastrophe.

The reason Barry did nothing during this attack was not political. Everybody is way off the here. The reason Oshitstain did nothing was because he has no interest at all in actually doing his job. That is why the Marxist buttlickering press will never ask just what this incompetent moron was doing during an enemy attack. The answer is probably that he went to sleep and told his aides not to bother him. That is who he is. An affirimative action lackey that is the front man for the Marxist activist Valerie Jarret and her Marxist friends. He is a laughable fraud as Commander-in-Chief and that cannot be disclosed.

Blaming a military attack by a terrorist group on a video is not a criminal act, so the hearing, while providing sunlight, will not really go anywhere. However, if it pries the mask of geniality off the vile Obama and knocks Ms. Clinton out of the 2016 race, well then, it’ll be worth it.

LOL. His name, plus the fact that (real) Kenyan Barack Obama, Sr., had been a graduate student at Harvard in the 1960′s.

Obama Jr. probably knew he didn’t need to check the “black” box on his Harvard Law application because when he checked the “son of Harvard alumni” box and identified Obama Sr. as his father, the admissions committee would know damn well what color his skin was. And if that didn’t clue them in, then Obama’s undergraduate records (which you must submit when you apply to law school) certainly would have included his minority status.

Blaming a military attack by a terrorist group on a video is not a criminal act, so the hearing, while providing sunlight, will not really go anywhere.

The actions of a sitting President acting primarily for the benefit of his own election campaign 6 weeks prior to an election over the sworn duties to protect Americans, an Ambassador, and deliver the truth of his actions to the American people is criminal negligence.

Further, that others may have aided the president in delivering a fabricated election story dreamed up by staffers about a video has the strong possibility of putting Obama in criminal violation of the Hatch ACT. Many reasons this could become a very big deal.

It’s the old Clinton Scandal Playbook.

Deny, deny, deny, delay, delay, delay, accuse opponents of partisan witch-hunting and anything else currently unpopular, delay, delay, delay.

Once the Democrats and the media discovered they could get away with outright lying to save their sorry corrupt rear ends, it has become their default. They always lose with the truth.

Adjoran on May 4, 2014 at 6:45 PM

And you notice that after all of the delaying it always “that was a long time ago” (usually months).

Del Dolemonte on May 4, 2014 at 6:25 PM

Fair enough. They are probably terrified to go on the record.

dogsoldier on May 4, 2014 at 6:51 PM

Bottom line, Obama/Plouffe/Hillary et al. cared more about their political hides than they did about Americans under attack by terrorists on the Anniversary of 9/11. The survivors from the embassy have only the two dead Navy Seals to thank for their survival because they were the only two that cared enough to put their lives on the line in a rescue attempt.

txmomof6 on May 4, 2014 at 6:53 PM

The left always tells you where the actual crime is by how loudly they protest. Here we see a cover up that actually keeps us from going after those who did this, which I think is as traitorous as the cover up.

jainphx on May 4, 2014 at 6:55 PM

Richard nixon and goerge bush= the devil incarnate who lied and covered up crimes for political gain
Obama= non story after non story or you are all racists for opposing the great and all knowing obama

jaywemm on May 4, 2014 at 6:56 PM

Because we really care about serving our Country? I did 21 years and reenlisted under a Democrat or two.

For us it isn’t about who is President, it is about serving our Country. It’s all about the oath for most of us.

Johnnyreb on May 4, 2014 at 5:43 PM

These people aren’t just Democrats and they have filled up jobs in the military establishment with marxist cronies who will get you killed with their dumb rules of engagement.

crankyoldlady on May 4, 2014 at 6:59 PM

You guys really got butthurt by this didn’t you. So sad…

rogerb on May 4, 2014 at 5:56 PM

Yes, some Americans take it personally when dozens of Americans are sent, on our behalf, into a foreign country that has been dangerously de-stabilized by the foolish and imprudent acts of an American president, and then callously abandoned to die at the hands of vicious terrorists by that same president because that vile POS is worried about winning an election. We also take it personally when that same American president stands over the dead bodies of those Americans whose deaths he did nothing to prevent, and deliberately and blatantly lies to our faces about what happened to them and why.

Yes, we’re sad and we’re angry about what happened to our fellow Americans in Benghazi. The question is, why aren’t you?

AZCoyote on May 4, 2014 at 7:00 PM

If there is no scandal then the administration should be happy to release all the information about Benghazi to the select committee and comply with all the FOIA requests from organizations like Judicial Watch. No scandal – nothing to hide.

Viator on May 4, 2014 at 5:11 PM

I think we’re more likely to get Obama’s foreign student application to Harvard and Columbia released than they will ever admit where he was (in bed sleeping soundly) while the Benghazi attacks were happening.

ConstantineXI on May 4, 2014 at 5:13 PM

Very few beneficiaries of Affirmative Action will admit to being beneficiaries of Affirmative Action.

slickwillie2001 on May 4, 2014 at 7:03 PM

I see ‘em screaming on the TV, looks like we are getting close to the truth finally.

Tard on May 4, 2014 at 7:06 PM

Cue up Hillary bellowing “I’m sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you’re not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we’re Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration.”

slickwillie2001 on May 4, 2014 at 7:06 PM

When the Dems show this much angst, clearly, we are over the target. They will ratchet up their rhetoric louder and become even more shrill as we begin to lock onto the truth. It will do them no good, this isn’t going to go away or go quietly into that good night.

Dan_NV on May 4, 2014 at 7:11 PM

“This has been politicized like we’ve never seen before.”</

Bwahahahahahsha! Now that's funny coming from the party that politicizes EVERYTHING!!! These left wing Alinskyites are a real hoot.

fight like a girl on May 4, 2014 at 7:23 PM

Do these people ever stop lying? Plouffe’s lie du jour.

oldennis on May 4, 2014 at 7:24 PM

The people who are delusional are the liars attached to the Obama Administration. They believe they can simply bloviate, and reality will never catch up to them.

oldennis on May 4, 2014 at 7:26 PM

STFU . . . fool.
