Pelosi: “Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi! Why aren’t we talking about something else?”

posted at 1:21 pm on May 1, 2014 by Erika Johnsen

Ah, yes — because as we all should know very well by now, investigating the Benghazi attack and its aftermath has only ever been about crazed hyper-partisan Republicans wielding preposterous conspiracy theories in a wildly politicized attempt to reopen an obviously open-and-shut case, and not at all about the White House trying to cover the tracks of its own incompetence whilst preserving the narrative that al Qaeda had been decimated and was on the run. We should be talking about more important things, like Democrats’ old-and-busted, top-down ideas for killing jobs and further encumbering the economy!

I haven’t seen that, but what I will say is, again: Diversion, subterfuge. Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi. Why aren’t we talking about something else? Whatever was in that, what I know of what I’ve read in the press about those emails, was very consistent with what was put out there before. I don’t think there’s anything new there.

Just for the sake of contrast, here’s what the Speaker of the House had to say on the subject last night:

“Four Americans lost their lives in Benghazi, and this White House has gone to extraordinary lengths to mislead, obstruct, and obscure what actually took place. I am appalled to learn that the administration concealed relevant documents after the House subpoenaed all emails related to the misleading talking points. When four Americans die at the hands of terrorists, the families of the victims – and the American people – deserve the full, unvarnished truth and nothing less. Instead, this White House has been callously dismissive of our efforts to get answers. The House has a constitutional obligation to carry out oversight of the administration, and the president has an obligation to cooperate. This evasiveness must end. Our investigation into the events of that September night is going to continue until this White House owns up to the truth – and until these terrorists are brought to justice.”

BigGator5 on May 1, 2014 at 1:55 PM

In my travels about this story on TV and across the internet it is abundantly clear that the vast majority of democrats and many independents do not care about this story. Their counter to this debacle is “Well, Bush sent over 3000 soldiers to their death in Irag and Afghanistan.” or “It’s politics.” Clearly, the ends justify the means with democrats and this matter is nothing but the usual “political maneuvering” that goes on. They most definitely are not going to let ANYTHING jeopardize a Hillary presidential run.

Conservatives, it is time to stop whining about the double standards, lies and cronyism and start fighting to win. That means no more playing nice by logically and impartially pointing out inconsistencies, hypocracy, and all the other dubious crap the liberals engage in. We need to crush them completely and adopt their game–i.e., the ends justify the means. There simply is no other way. We cannot give them any slack, consideration, or credit for anything they do that we may agree with policy wise because it inevitably is turned around and eventually used against us.

I’m just so sick and tired of how we have been playing this game for the last 10 years with the other side. Time to bring out the big guns.

The House has a constitutional obligation to carry out oversight of the administration, and the president has an obligation to cooperate. This evasiveness must end. Our investigation into the events of that September night is going to continue until this White House owns up to the truth – and until these terrorists are brought to justice.”

Nice words from the Speaker of the House, the problem is that they are little more than words and lost within the pratter, obfuscations, and blatant lies that come not only from the Administration, but with their sycophants on Capital Hill like the vapid ideologue Nan Pelosi.

If Boehner ever wondered why people are fed up with his tenure as Speaker, they don’t have to look any further than his feckless and gutless actions regarding Fast & Furious, IRS Scandal, and Benghazi. Each of these scandals deserves a House Select Committee to be formed to investigate the cover-up, lies, and the ethical, moral, and legal failings of this Administration as it puts political expediency before everything else.

It says a lot for the values of the Democrats when their political expediency is more valuable and important than those who were killed by this Administration’s actions in Fast & Furious and the terror attack on Benghazi on 9/11/12.

To my knowledge, we have no answer to the simple question of who was in charge that night and what orders were given as the attack was going on? Secretary of Defense? Secretary of State? President?

And then why does the Secretary of State tell the families of the deceased that we will get who made that video? Incompetence or lying? Is there any other option?

Answer simple questions and this goes away. Or maybe the answer to the simple questions are what Nancy is so scared of…?
