MSNBC host debates Michele Fiore on Bundy ranch. Does not fare well.

posted at 11:31 am on April 19, 2014 by Jazz Shaw

This story comes to us courtesy of The Right Scoop. (Which makes sense since I don’t watch any of the cable news evening lineup and haven’t seen Chris Hayes on the small screen in ages.) While people gathered at Cliven Bundy’s ranch in protest of the BLM’s handling of affairs there, the protesters were joined by Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore. This prompted MSNBC host Hayes to interview her, and the Scoop captures the video for us.

Let’s just say that Fiore wasn’t about to have the conversation steered to any Left side talking points.

Hayes tries his very best to repeatedly get Fiore to agree that Bundy is a criminal of one sort or another and goes the extra mile in slyly trying to get the Assemblywoman to say she agrees with Bundy that the federal government has no authority. She’s having none of it, and drives the conversation back to a few key points like a jackhammer.

- Why is the federal government sending men with guns to collect a debt, assuming one is owed?

- How much, if anything does Bundy actually owe? Liberals have been throwing around the figure of A MILLION DOLLARS for some time now, but then backed off to possibly only being a couple hundred thousand.

- Why is Harry Reid so heavily involved when something definitely looks “suspicious” about that?

It’s a pretty great interview, so take a look.

So he has a problem when a U.S. citizen doesn’t agree with a questionable law, yet his whole network doesn’t seem to have any problems with illegal aliens breaking immigration laws that the illegals don’t like. Funny world.

Another justification on why I don’t waste time watching Main Stream Media news. Though this is not the news; this is the left attempting to score points off the right and try to make them look bad … slanting the facts, really.

The problem, of course is now they’ll start investigating her, harassing her family and demanding she respond to silly, unfounded accusations while the comedy shows mock every aspect of her life. It’s not so easily “handled” by performing well in one short interview and the national GOP knows this quite well as it has happened to them repeatedly.

Chris Hayes is a whinier and more feminine version of Rachel Maddow. Nice to see him get his smug head handed to him like this.

Notice how Assemblywoman Fiore starts to question the questioner. This is a very important and under-utilized tactic.

Republicans who find themselves being interviewed by hostile biased lefty dweebs like Ms. Hayes here need to be ready and willing to stop an interview dead in its tracks and start questioning the questioner about how these overtly and obviously slanted segments get framed-up in the first place.

Then sit there and wait for an answer.

Most Republicans on TV these days are as useless as boobs on a bull, and cant think on their feet or communicate their way out of a wet paper bag with a claw hammer.

They’re either too ignorant & flat-footed or too pig-headed to see when they’re being set up for a left hook to the jaw and are thus incapable of a) defending themselves and b) throwing an effective counter-punch right back at the interviewer.

Fiore did a good job and there needs to be a LOT more of this type of pushback. Attack the attacker. Punch back twice as hard etc etc.

For us Catholics, we have guidance from Jesus which says to render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s, and unto God that which is God’s.

Now, are God and Caesar of equal rank, or does one outrank the other?

When we encounter a situation in which certain Government officials are using the power of Caesar to covet and steal another person’s possessions, what are we obligated to do?

So, by all means, the Feds are to enforce the laws — and we citizens, by our disobedience to those laws, act to mitigate and even to have our lawmakers change them.

It’s the American Way — and if you don’t believe that, I suggest you look at the history of the Underground Railroad, or further back for the reasons and acts associated with the Revolutionary War.

Jimbo’s link leads to a story purporting to be the “true” history of this case. However, it was written by a former Associate Editor of the Far-Left American Prospect, so it cannot be considered objective. In addition, it was published in a “newspaper” that has endorsed Harry Reid’s criminality and senility at every turn.

Jimbo also claimed later in that thread that one is automatically guilty, without formal charges and with no trial, of “assault” if one simply points a gun at someone else. Maybe in North Korea, but not here in America (at least not yet!)

weedisgood on April 19, 2014 at 12:48 PM

It is the American Way to violate laws which we consider immoral or unjust.

In fact, Americans are so contrary that they frequently violate laws which they consider as impairing their rights.

Remember that 55MPH national speed limit? Honored more in the breach than in the observance.

Even our immigration laws are disregarded. Employers still knowingly hire illegal immigrants, whether said employers be the guy who needs some extra help going down to the local Home Depot, or some farmer who can’t hire enough legal workers to get his crops in.

You view this situation as something involving a crazy rancher. Well, the rest of us view it as Harry Reid and his son trying to take this rancher’s grazing rights. Harry Reid relocated the desert tortoises being used as an excuse to deny this rancher use of the land — from land belonging to his biggest donor. Harry Reid’s son covets this land as the location of a solar farm for electricity generation.

Where you see a crazy farmer, we see the use of Government force by private individuals for their own gain.

The reason the BLM backed off was because the Sheriff of Clark County withdrew his support for the operation. I have no doubt that law enforcement could take on any number of yahoos with guns — and win. If this really was a rule of law question, I expect the Sheriff would have engaged said yahoos and driven them off. But he understands the politics, and wanted nothing to do with them.

Most liberals I know think marriage between man and woman laws are unjust.
Think laws protecting the unborn are unjust.
Think prosecuting and deporting illegal immigrants are unjust.
Think hiring someone based of their skillset instead of skin color is unjust.
Think having 10 commandments in public courts are unjust.

Once you start getting into unjust and fairness business, might as well become a card carrying liberal.

BobMbx on April 19, 2014 at 1:03 PM

MSDNC was too smart by half. How many of the dwindling hundreds who actually watch that network even know what “BBQ” stands for, much less have ever attended one.

We’re talking about people who lock themselves INSIDE their own cars.

I lock myself inside my own car every time I go out. Some guy once opened my passenger door and got in spite of my protestations. He got out at knife point; even politely closed the door. Then I locked them, and have ever since.

Michele Fiore needs to be giving lessons to most of the GOP on how to dominate an interview.

Bravo!

Liberals and RINOS had no problem when New Black Panthers were armed in front of polling places……

Either you stand for the rule of law or you don’t.

weedisgood on April 19, 2014 at 12:48 PM

So someone with a screen name of “weedisgood” is all about enforcement of the law. That precious.

So, seeing as how weed is illegal in the vast majority of the US and under Federal law (whether it is “good” or not), I suppose you DON’T “stand for the rule of law”.

I thought she did a great job and what I found most interesting about it was that her answers seemed to leave whatsisname with the idea that he had come off looking good. Which was far from reality.

Oldnuke on April 19, 2014 at 1:13 PM

Its good that she went into the interview KNOWING that MSNBC/Hayes is not her friend and had an agenda to validate.

Everyone needs to treat the stations like what they are – the mouthpiece of the DNC.

Are you a liberal? Just asking because liberals usually think like this usually.

Weedisgood.

I am an American. As for the rest, read my comments and find out. I do not have to justify myself to you any more than you need to justify yourself to me. Our arguments are there for all to see, and you yourself are being slammed by confirmed conservatives, so if I were you, I would rethink my arguments as conservative ones.

Since I am not you, I don’t need to rethink my arguments, because I consider myself primarily a conservative — but not completely — but I consider myself to be 100% American, and a keen observer of the American Way.

I’m not sure we can call him a troll. He is trying to engage. Not very good at it though. Rogerb, RWM and a host of others could shred him and have him fleeing the room in tears if they cared to take him on. I’ve already added him to my “Ignore” file.

Oldnuke on April 19, 2014 at 1:16 PM

Chris employs the fallacy every liberal tosses, imagining it enlightening. Redistribution of of the middle. Take the slider and move it to the extreme and attempt to get the interlocutor to accept or deny the extreme.

In that case, dismiss the extreme.

Nobody said “every cattleman should ignore federal fees.”

Her one flaw in otherwise brilliant debate with Harry Potter, I mean with Chris in not batting that ridiculous slippery slope position.

But we are watching a nonsense network established purely to vex Republicans and only to vex Republicans so why bother engaging at all? Why give Chris any air at all? Nobody watches that malevolent malifnormed d.b. in real life.

The rule of law must be followed. We can’t be accusing Obama of violating laws and give this rancher a pass.

weedisgood on April 19, 2014 at 12:31 PM

Its a very different dynamic when you are talking about the people who write the laws and those who must obey them.

A unilateral decision by Obama not to follow the law is a constitutional matter. Bundy following the law or not, is nothing of the sort.

The laws and regulations and penalties can be whatever they want it to be, and I doubt the average person goes a week without breaking one law or another Mr Weed.

The government arbitrarily reduced Bundy’s cattle allotment to 150 cattle in order to bankrupt him which is what happened to all his neighbors.

Laws should be interpreted objectively, not on an individual basis dependent on their personal relationships to those in power. A government of powerful men reduces the law to a subjective force.

Whether you see justice depends on who you know and your relationship to those enforcing the laws and those against whom the laws being enforced. If you are one of the elites you can ignore most provisions of law. If you are just a rancher, you cannot.
