Bad news from Obama: The GOP’s budget is either a stinkburger or a meanwhich

posted at 4:41 pm on April 2, 2014 by Allahpundit

Via the Corner. They touted him in 2008 as a post-partisan pragmatist who’d go down in history as one of America’s great orators.

And, I think we can all agree, they delivered.

The president paid a visit to Zingerman’s Deli in Ann Arbor, Mich., today as part of his push to increase the minimum wage.

Zingerman’s he says, pays its employees “fair wages.” Whether they’re fair enough to afford the lunch the president had isn’t clear: He ordered a small Reuben for $13.99; larges go for nearly $17…

“If they tried to this sell [Paul Ryan's budget] at Zingerman’s, they’d have to call it the ’stinkburger’ or the ‘meanwich,’” he said.

Ben Howe captures the state of play:

Gabe Malor’s challenging O-bots to quote a single memorable line from our modern Pericles’s speeches. I fear that’s the wrong question to ask right now. The stinkburger line, in its own dopey way, is memorable — way more so than O’s usual clunky attempts at soaring lyricism — and reminding him of that might give him ideas. This is not a guy, after all, who’s above acting like a moron if it helps him politically. Just today, Politico has a vivid anecdote about how excited The One was to find that “Hangover” idiots Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis wanted to help him pitch O-Care. If “stinkburger” goes viral, which seems to be happening on Twitter as I write this, there will be more in this vein. Imagine a world where Harry Reid’s moved on from “Kochtopia” to accusing the Koch brothers of wanting to feed America a “turd burrito” or “sh*t hoagie.” We’re closer to that world than we were an hour ago. And, given the state of Reid’s mental health these days, we weren’t far from it in the first place.

Ah well. Look on the bright side: Obama and the tea party finally agree on something.

They touted him in 2008 as a post-partisan pragmatist who’d go down in history as one of America’s great orators.

Who’s they? I’ve always seen him as a petty bully who was never going to be a post-partisan pragmatist. I was yelled out in early 2009 that I had to give the filthy ignorant lazy rat-eared wonder a chance to live up to the rhetoric of his campaign. I responded that I had already seen all I needed to see about the bastard.

Anybody want to argue that Obama came into this job (and it is a job- which came as a shock to the filthy bastard) wanting to create a post-partisan Presidency? Anybody????

I might expect Obama would be smarter than to lower the prestige of the office of President by using what amounts to slang, or street language, in reference to a colleague.

It’s not in Obama’s own interest to lower the esteem of the Presidency, since he’s the sitting President.

However, this is just one more proof that, absent the teleprompter, Obama has no idea how to comport himself, and it also showcases his lack of understanding of the office and what it means to be the President. This was a candid comment and he’s succeeded in demeaning himself in attempting to demean a political colleague.

Tain’t our butt that is hurting. It’s our nation and what is remaining after this butcher has had his turn at destroying it.

It’s very sad that there are still people so blind they can’t see this. We all pay the price for that blindness.

You mean he wasn’t talking about Obamacare, which his wife is trying to sell to knuckleheads?

But you’ve got to give credit where credit is due. Mean witch is a good description for Pelosi and Sebelius.

It’s a shame that Obama’s defenders are left with so little by way of his defense they resort to the language of junior high school kids.

What kind of shit-for-brains president would pay $13.99 for a small Reuben?

Ward Cleaver on April 2, 2014 at 5:19 PM

In most respectable sandwich shops, a large Reuben with fries sells for about $9. But Obama wanted to be a zinger man at Zingerman’s, and overpaid for corny beef.

Oh look, one of the white liberal racists shows up.

Ready to admit your stupid black child is little more than a feral animal?

northdallasthirty on April 2, 2014 at 6:38 PM

Then again, I always forget: conservatives know intelligent, insightful, and polite black people like Condi Rice, Mia Love, Dr. Ben Carson, JC Watts, and Tim Scott.

Constantine, like all white liberals, only knows the feral animals that liberals raise like Trayvon Martin and Rachel Jeantel. So to Constantine, Obama is a step up, just like white liberal Joe Biden was amazed to meet a black person who wasn’t dirty.

“Las Vegas (CBS LAS VEGAS) – Just days after the deadline to enroll for insurance coverage through Nevada Health Link, the first class-action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of residents who say they signed up and paid their premiums – but were never given coverage.

Law firm Callister & Associates filed the lawsuit on behalf of Larry Basich, who signed up for state health insurance and paid premiums as far back as November, but then was not covered following a Jan. 3 triple bypass procedure that saw his $400,000 in medical expenses passed between the wrong insurance companies, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

The lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court of Nevada on Tuesday alleges gross negligence and failure to do due diligence against the state of Nevada, the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange (which runs Nevada Health Link), and the company that won the contract to build the exchange, Xerox….”

For what it’s worth, since I went to UM – Zingerman’s gets it’s ingredients from all around the world, not to mention the high quality of them as well. That’s why it’s so expensive.

If you’re like me and don’t care so much for that, there’s the Maize and Blue deli in Ann Arbor that serves massive portions. The “elitest” foodies love Zingerman’s because their palate is so much more “refined”. Just give me a massive sandwich and I’m happy.

Before the mods have to weigh in here and wield the cudgel, it’s never a bad idea to remind people that there is a contingent out there who would take great glee in copying remarks like that and amplifying them in the leftosphere, except that it isn’t some anonymous person getting the blame, it’s all “LOOKEE HERE, this is what goes on at HOT AIR”.

As someone who has typed in overwrought stuff in the past, I still feel bad about it. This is somebody else’s house and I am a guest. If I, or anybody else, forgets courtesy to our hosts, then they deserve to get called out on it.

His behaviour during this speech is a true indicator that he does not belong anywhere near the White House. How embarrassed Americans must be to realize that this ignorant, mean, petty, petulant, clueless, egotistical, jealous, vengeful man is at the head of your country. We were appalled at his tone and his demeanor. He is truly not an honourable man, but a veritable street thug who was elevated to the highest position in the land based on devious prevarication and some phony public sense that those of his race are owed something because of the actions of others to whom no one alive today has any connection.
