Video: Anchor at Russian propaganda network quits over Ukraine invasion — on the air

posted at 6:01 pm on March 5, 2014 by Allahpundit

No, not that one. A different one.

Good for her, although I wonder what she expected when she went to work for RT. Her boss invaded Georgia a few years ago; his feelings about Ukraine being a de facto Russian province aren’t a secret. What did she think was going to happen? If he had laid off on invading but sought to crush Ukraine economically and politically to stop the phantom Nazi menace in Kiev, would that have been more acceptable?

Eh, I don’t mean to beat her up when she’s done the right thing. Now, when does Chris Matthews resign from MSNBC in protest over Obama’s Libya invasion?

Update: Basically.

Update: This too.

There are tons of idiots and fools in government but Barky is in a league of his own when it comes to totally talentless, inept boobs. Then, Barky does it all one better by acting arrogant – an obnoxious, inept, incompetent 84 IQ moron who likes to act as if he’s Einstein when he can’t even do simple arithmetic with fractions … yeah … that’s a really special sort of inept idiot.

Incitatus had more human skills and talents than Barky.

President Putin’s Fiction: 10 False Claims about Ukraine

Fact Sheet
Office of the Spokesperson
Washington, DC
March 5, 2014
*************

As Russia spins a false narrative to justify its illegal actions in Ukraine, the world has not seen such startling Russian fiction since Dostoyevsky wrote, “The formula ‘two plus two equals five’ is not without its attractions.”

Below are 10 of President Vladimir Putin’s recent claims justifying Russian aggression in the Ukraine, followed by the facts that his assertions ignore or distort.

1. Mr. Putin says: Russian forces in Crimea are only acting to protect Russian military assets. It is “citizens’ defense groups,” not Russian forces, who have seized infrastructure and military facilities in Crimea.

The Facts: Strong evidence suggests that members of Russian security services are at the heart of the highly organized anti-Ukraine forces in Crimea. While these units wear uniforms without insignia, they drive vehicles with Russian military license plates and freely identify themselves as Russian security forces when asked by the international media and the Ukrainian military. Moreover, these individuals are armed with weapons not generally available to civilians.

Ukraine Stands a Fighting Chance

The general consensus the media has presented during this conflict is that Ukraine, if pressed into a military tête-à-tête with Russia, would stand little to no chance. With a reserve capacity of almost a million, this in terms of raw numbers would still be no match for Russia’s near million active troops, and multimillion reserves.

jeffinsjvca on March 5, 2014 at 7:51 PM

I’m reminded of a story Ayn Rand wrote about several Soviet citizens in the heart of Red Square in the middle of the Cold War protesting the Soviet policies. These people were captured in the space of minutes but had a chance to tell an American reporter who happened to be walking by at the time that they did it just so that “for one day in their life they could feel normal”.

Ayn Rand said the story “got her”, and it tells how citizens there feel under the heel of the Bear.

itsspideyman on March 5, 2014 at 8:01 PM

“As a reporter on this network, I face many ethical and moral challenges.”

That’s something the the “reporters” on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC don’t concern themselves with in the least. They just regurgitate whatever they get from Obama/DNC.

wyntre9 on March 5, 2014 at 8:36 PM

Good for her.

As for the criticism of her working for RT in the first place, the network was no more a propaganda outlet than MSLSD or CNN. It has some interesting foreign stories, and the Lord knows that those are few and far between on US networks.

Besides, everybody has got to work somewhere. She could have lowered her standards even more and gotten a job at CNN, but she didn’t do that. She’s proud to be an American. I hope that she finds work soon.

HeWeiJin on March 5, 2014 at 8:57 PM

RT is far more interesting than any of the US media outlets.

antifederalist on March 5, 2014 at 6:10 PM

Professional wrestling can be interesting as well.

Mark1971 on March 5, 2014 at 6:12 PM

And professional wrestlers are great athletes…just can’t take the scripted outcomes seriously.

RT does report on things our Limp Stream Media won’t, but of course you have to separate out the BS. But that goes for the other major news outlet including Fox News.

If you can see professional wrestling for what it is, but get something out of it, then one should be able to do the same with RT or maybe even Al-Jazeera.

The way I look at, we’re surrounded by liars, but use your critical thinking skills and don’t be too quick to throw out the baby with the bath water.

Dr. ZhivBlago on March 5, 2014 at 10:32 PM

A journalist with integrity? How did she get that high up in the first place?

She would not have even been hired by the NBC/MSNBC networks, they would have thought of her as a freak of nature and an embarrassment and not needed on the news programing.

There are so few journalist that even know the meaning of integrity or credibility in most American news groups, that wasn’t always true but today they seem to be addicted to the Obama Kool-aid or crack, you choose.
