Krauthammer: The admin that thinks climate change is our biggest security threat is shocked that Russia is interested in territory

posted at 8:41 pm on March 3, 2014 by Erika Johnsen

As Ed noted in reiterating even the Washington Post‘s incredulity this morning, whatever foreign-policy la-la-land President Obama and his advisers are living in isn’t anywhere close to one in which other leaders like Russia and China are currently acting out their aggression. The Obama administration might be over American exceptionalism as a leading force in the world, but that doesn’t mean that other countries are going to follow suit and just graciously bow out of the game.

Remember the speech he gave at the U.N. when he started his administration? He said no nation can or should dominate another. I mean, there’s not a 12-year-old in the world who believes that. And he said the alignment of nations rooted in the cleavages of the long ago Cold War make no sense in this interconnected world. As our Secretary of State said today, or yesterday, after all this, this is a 19th century action in a 21st century world. As if what he means his actions where governments pursue expansion, territory domination, no longer exist in this century, as if that hasn’t been a constant in all of human history since Hannibal. They imagine the world as a new interconnected world where climate change is the biggest threat and they are shocked that the Russians actually are interested in territory.

Ukraine is now claiming that there are 16,000 troops deployed in the Crimea region as of Monday afternoon. So, there’s that.

I got frustrated one day at people talking about the Headline thread like it was some secret club which I wasn’t invited to. No amount of clicking on the headlines worked and I finally accidentally clicked on the number next to it and I was in!

Same here.

There is one button I have never understood. Its the Close tags button. So I emailed to ask about that as well.

I honestly have no idea what that does.

Once President Obama completely eliminates the American military the US will no longer be a nation that troubles the world. …and the President’s dream of a transformed America will finally become a reality.

Let’s have a mutiny in the threads, we demand to know what the “close tags” are.

Cindy Munford on March 3, 2014 at 10:42 PM

It closes all open tags in the comment box with one click!

If you had emphasis, strong, and strike open, clicking close tags enters the close tag for all three!@!!!!#23454256

You know how everyone is always asking question about how the stuff here at HA works? I.E. the comment box and such. I’m making a blog tutorial to help. I sent what I have done so far to Ed. He liked it very much. Tomorrow I will concentrate on some other aspects, like when you showed me how to use headlines etc. Here is what I have done so far. You are as always welcomed to pitch in with me on ideas. : )

Ditto to both. But a pox on the HA webmaster for not trying to be user friendly. Is it too much to ask to add in a 10 or even 20 px padding around the comments counter so one can make a clean hit on the link and avoid accidentally clicking on the headline source link?

Also useful with android 4.x since you can’t highlight a section of text then surround it with a tag. But I blame that on android since the older versions worked just fine.

AH_C on March 3, 2014 at 11:37 PM

as if that hasn’t been a constant in all of human history since Hannibal.

Imperialism goes back at least a couple of thousand years earlier than Hannibal, Chuck!

A small discrepancy in an otherwise devastating critique of Obama foreign policy.

itsnotaboutme on March 4, 2014 at 2:34 AM

Not to quibble about something minor, but, there’s a small error in the transcript:

“As if what he means his actions where governments pursue expansion, territory domination, no longer exist in this century,”

Should read:

“As if what he means is actions where..”

Well CK, Dear Leader forgot to read the memo that to Putin the Cold War is not over. It will not end until all former soviet bloc countries are under control of the Kremlin. I wish that somebody gave him the message in October 2008. Oh wait…… But hey maybe we will have better luck against global warming considering it is a hoax anyway

Brock Robamney on March 4, 2014 at 5:55 AM

Obama is a grower of low hanging fruit, waiting to be picked.

Tourists! They’re tourists! No “invasion”. Just an “uncontested arrival”.

GarandFan on March 4, 2014 at 8:48 AM

Take a closer look at those uniforms the troops are wearing. They don’t have any insignia like a proper army has. This was pointed out on one of those Fox interviews yesterday. They are also wearing balaclavas of one kind or another that don’t look like standard issue. They are either being sneaky or don’t want to be identified later in case the UN decides to hold court or something. I know, funny, huh.

Kissmygrits on March 4, 2014 at 9:08 AM

Americans are the only people left in the world who fear Obama.

I noticed that too. Actually has me a little creeped out. Because it means that Putin is playing chess quite a few moves ahead of where even we are thinking, and its a divergent move from what we’d normally expect. Meanwhile, Obama is playing marbles on the floor.

This is not good.

February 16, 2014:

The bottom line is this: it is the same thing with climate change. And in a sense, climate change can now be considered another weapon of mass destruction, perhaps the world’s most fearsome weapon of mass destruction.

This administration is without question the most incompetent bunch of idiots that has ever been. Unfortunately, we’re stuck with them with no relief in sight. How sad, indeed….

As usual, Mr. Krauthammer is correct. The administration and its liberal supporters do not fully understand what is right or wrong because they lean so far left they would fall over if they did not realize gravity exists for a reason.
