Mass murderer Anders Breivik threatens hunger strike unless his “torture”-like conditions are alleviated — with better video games

posted at 5:31 pm on February 15, 2014 by Erika Johnsen

It’s hard out there for a mass murderer, ya’ll. He kills 77 people via bombing and mass shooting, is sentenced to a term of merely 21 years (although, if he is still considered dangerous, a.k.a. flipping insane, it isn’t likely he’ll ever be released, thank the Lord), and is serving out that term in one of the rather accommodating prisons on which Norway prides itself. He’s kept in isolation for security reasons (in his own suite, complete with gym equipment and laptop), and since his behavior so far, he argues, has been so very “exemplary,” he’d be super appreciative if he could finally stop being treated so poorly and get some better amenities. Like, you know, a PS3 — because the PS2 he’s been living with is just not up to par. Oh, the humanity:

Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik threatened to go on hunger strike for better video games and other perks to alleviate his “torture”-like prison conditions, in a letter received by AFP Friday. …

The demands include better conditions for his daily walk and the right to communicate more freely with the outside world, which he argues are in line with European rights legislation.

He also demanded the replacement of a PlayStation 2 games console for a more recent PS3 “with access to more adult games that I get to choose myself” as well as a sofa or armchair instead of a “painful” chair.

“Other inmates have access to adult games while I only have the right to play less interesting kids games. One example is “Rayman Revolution”, a game aimed at three year olds,” wrote the 35-year-old convicted killer. …

Breivik also wants his standard weekly allowance of 300 kroner ($49, 36 euros) to be doubled, particularly to cover his postal charges for written correspondence.

The heart. It bleeds.

Perfect illustration of the leftist mindset. Sentencing a mass murderer to only 21 years for killing 77 people. Then they throw death threats at zoo keepers for killing a giraffe.

Not the comfy chair! Everyone knows that was a notorious tactic of the Spanish Inquisition.

So…let him go on his hunger strike. No capital punishment, so he can off himself as should have been done by the state when he was convicted.

Go for it!

Hunger strike? Sounds like a good idea, it’ll save on food costs. Let him starve to death, a nice slow, painful way to go.

Inside the cell of Norway massacre gunman Anders Breivik

Anders Breivik, who has admitted to the 2011 bombing and shooting massacre at a youth camp that left 77 people dead, arrived at Ila Prison, just outside Oslo, to a three-room cell that includes a study, an exercise room complete with treadmill and more.

Murphy9 on February 15, 2014 at 5:56 PM

My take is that Breivik knows that his claims are outrageous and is deliberately mocking a system that would take them seriously. Our outrage really should be directed against the soft on crime people who created this situation.

HOW MOONBATS FAST

Remember Cindy Sheehan’s “hunger strike?” Remember I asked whether she would last longer than Saddam Hussein?
Well…
Kristinn Taylor at F/R points to Cindy’s latest blog entry on her, uh, progress (also posted at the Crawford Peace House site):

I find traveling out of the country very challenging being on a fast. When I was on a layover in Madrid on my way to Venice, Italy yesterday, the closest thing I could find to a smoothie to get a little protein was a coffee with vanilla ice cream in it. Traveling for 22 hours is very taxing under normal circumstances–but then again, when have we had normal circumstances since the 2000 and 2004 successful coup attempts that have brought BushCo into power?
I traveled from Venice to the frontier of Italy to the province of Udine which is right at the foot of the pre-Alps. I am here for a huge youth festival which includes many elements of social justice and peace work. It is beautiful and the air feels different from other places that I have travelled. It is strangely soft and gentle as is the natural light. However, there is not a Jamba Juice on every corner, so blended juice drinks with protein powder are impossible to find.

Smoothies. Coffee. Vanilla Ice Cream. How much weight does she plan on gaining during this deprivation campaign?

LOL. On top of the computer and video games and personal exercise equipment, he also gets an “allowance” of $196 a month. (Soon to be doubled in response to the murderer’s demands, no doubt).

I’m surprised there are not more people committing murders in Norway. It seems to be pretty well-rewarded there.

Threatening a hunger strike? *shrugs shoulders* Okay. Have at it, I say.

Andy in Colorado on February 15, 2014 at 6:27 PM

I’ve never understood the concept of stopping prisoners involved in a hunger strike. It’s their choice. Let them. Keep bringing their food day after day, take it away at the appropriate time, continue charging them for it, and document the heck out of it (if he eats even a morsel, make sure that is captured on video and available to any media outlet that wants it). 99% will cave in. The other 1% are obviously too psychopathic to rehabilitate.

I’m a compassionate guy, but this is manipulation and that grates me no end. Let them starve if that’s what they are so intent on doing.

Who gives a shit? It’s Norway, let them do whatever the hell they want with their criminals.

However, the first time I hear about an American murdering POS complaining about not having the latest video games, I’ll be talking about how we need to let the most insane prisoners we can find into that guy’s cell to:

1. Politely inform him that his attitude is just plain unacceptable given his crimes, and then-

2. Violently push his lunch to reinforce point one.

In fact, that’s my recipe for any and all prison reform.

Thank you.

He’s trolling them, as some other posters have suspected.

When he was sentenced to 21 years, he openly mocked the sentence and said “there are only two just and fair outcomes in this case: acquittal or capital punishment.”

Norwegians detest the very idea of punishment, and try to make life happy for prisoners. He’s rather playfully trying to test their limits, perhaps in hopes of making them realize how screwed up the modern Scandinavian mindset is.

40 years ago I read a short science fiction story in which the last line was:

“I will make the blood sing through their veins … and from them.”

Is there any chance any of you know its title or who wrote it?

The main character reminds me of Breivik.

Of course Breivik is jerking their chain. He knows they should kill him. He despises them for many reasons, and that is one of them.

Oh, and let me also say that I shed not one tear for the people he killed. They were all Leftist, anti-Semite scum. (Well, I guess there could be some people in the office building that weren’t.) But the scum on that island were there to be indoctrinated (by their Leftist parents) to hate Jews and advance totalitarian socialism. Screw em.

Not one tear. I hope it hurt.

Having said that, he shouldn’t have done it, regardless of his “reasoning,” and he should die in jail.

Wait, what am I saying? He should just die.

WhatSlushfund on February 15, 2014 at 7:55 PM

Maybe I should have been more clear there. In case anyone doesn’t know, Breivik has been lately claiming that he’s a Nazi who was all along opposed to the counter-jihad movement, and was trying to frame the movement.

This is just one of Robert’s posts on the subject:

His complaint seems to be that it’s cartoon-y and not violent, but, that doesn’t mean it’s targeted at children.

Also, the PS3 is not new. It’s just newer than the PS2. Not that it makes it ok for him to be demanding an upgrade.

There is usually this group in Norway that agitates these matters on behalf of he prisoners, the AUF or something, but they seem to be missing from this fight. I’m sure they would like to make some sort of protest for Breivik’s prisoner rights because it would be one of those feel-good stories that the sort of people who award nobel prizes would eat up. Breivik poisoned the well for that by making them have to agitate for this sort of ridiculous stuff. He started protesting the coffee on day one. I think it effectively removes the AUF from any more prison related causes so I guess he’s still making war against them.
