Anthony Weiner: Let’s face it, Hillary’s arguably the most qualified presidential candidate in U.S. history

posted at 5:21 pm on January 24, 2014 by Allahpundit

You can draw the historical comparisons as easily as I can, so I won’t bore you with them. Simple question instead: Should we cut this guy some slack for slobbering this way knowing that he’s just trying to make amends for jeopardizing his wife’s career? Huma was, and probably still is, a lock for membership in the White House inner circle if Hillary wins in 2016. The only baggage that might get her booted is you-know-who’s habit of doing you-know-what. If, after two years of public humiliation, Weiner wants to make it up to her by keeping a straight face while saying something like this on TV, who among us would fault him? Everyone atones in their own way. This guy just happens to do it by insisting that his wife’s boss is arguably more impressive than, say, Dwight Eisenhower. Or even John Kerry.

Plus, it’s hard to single Weiner out for criticism knowing that, as implausible as it may seem, this same surreal claim will be repeated endlessly in various forms by Democrats during the next campaign. The more people notice that Hillary, despite having moved in the highest circles of power for more than 20 years, has virtually nothing to show for it in terms of policy, the more frantically her credentials will be touted. Former first lady. Senator. Secretary of State. She racked up hundreds of thousands of miles in the air in her diplomatic travels. Hundreds of thousands — more than any other Secretary of State. Right?

Put aside the fact that the “more than any secretary of state” part isn’t actually true — Condi Rice flew more. When you ask, “Okay, what did she get for it?” you get a blank stare or you get some stuff about championing women’s rights. Two people have told me she did good work in Myanmar, but I’ve never really gotten to the bottom of that. I suppose I could look it up, but at the end of the day we’re still talking about Myanmar, which is not the locus of America’s most pressing international problems. (“That’s right, because Hillary prevented the Myanmarese hegemony,” someone at MSNBC just shrieked. “She stopped it cold.”) While the Wikipedia page on her tenure doesn’t even mention Myanmar, it does mention her championing of better cook stoves in the Third World. That’s good. And so is improving the plight of women in various countries where their status ranges between “Slightly More Important than the Village Mule” to “So Incredibly Delicate We Must Keep Them Covered with Burlap Sacks All Day Long Even Though It’s Like 115 Degrees in the Shade Today.”…

I’ve been saying for a while, if by a while you mean two decades, that Hillary Clinton has never lived up to the hype. She wasn’t an effective senator, she was effective at managing her image as a senator. She wasn’t an effective manager; HillaryCare was a paper behemoth that never even came up for a vote, but nonetheless helped her party lose control of the U.S. Congress. She isn’t a great politician; she’s the wife of one. She’s not even charismatic…

The fascination, the excitement, the thrill of Hillary Clinton is like a psychological potluck dinner for liberal Democrats and the Washington press corps: They bring their own. All she provides is the venue.

Her chief accomplishment as SoS wasn’t Myanmar, it was adding a new credential that would help expunge her Iraq vote in the eyes of the left. They’ll still resist her in the primaries, at least at first, but now she’s got a ready answer if/when she’s accused of being too quick to choose war: If there’s anyone who understands the value of diplomacy, it’s a former head of the State Department. She’s built relationships with foreign leaders (and built upon relationships that Bill had built years before). Jaw-jaw, not war-war. You can trust her now, at least enough not to disqualify her over old business.

And as for the new business that might theoretically disqualify her, her friends in the media know how to handle that. Click the image to watch.

Nothing to show for it, but blood on her hands.

Hillary Clinton will never be president of the United States.

The coalition of voters that Obama drew together will never hold together for H.R. Clinton, regardless of how many scare tactics the LEFT unleashed in an effort to drive their base to the polls.

H.R. Clinton is too old. Plain and simple. The base of the LEFT in particular has been coached for decades to value youth and sexuality above wisdom and experience. If the LEFT is every going to elect a woman it will be a woman much closer to 35 than 70 and H.R. Clinton will be 69 years old just before the 2016 election. Further, she’s put on a great deal of weight, she’s clearly let herself go, and all those photos of her during her tenure as Secretary of State with long, greasy, unkempt hair and far less than stylish apparel will cost her dearly.

Blacks will not turn out to vote for H.R. Clinton as they did for Obama. Those were record shattering turnouts for blacks and any politician would be hard pressed to match them.

Further, Obama tagged Bill and Hillary Clinton as racists during the primaries in 2008. That ploy was quite effective. I doubt seriously if H.R Clinton can scrape that accusation off now.

The middle class has no reason in particular to turn out for H.R. Clinton, either and the fact that she is still linked to ObamaCare, through her own attempt to impose universal health care on the nation during her husbands tenure as president will surely come back to haunt her as the middle class is hardest hit with the rising premiums and deductibles, fewer covered doctors and hospitals, shrinking formularies of covered drugs, and either being thrown onto the exchanges by employers who used to provide health coverage or facing being reduced to part time employees.

Her history with the Iran vote, her direct responsibility for the four deaths at Benghazi and the resultant attempted cover up will not serve her as people are inclined to add rather than overlook when they are unhappy.

Finally, the Clinton’s ran as the boy from Hope Arkansas to get Bill elected. It’s hard to claim “I’m one of you.” when you’re a multimillionaire living large and letting contributions from ‘the little people’ pay off your last run for the White House.

thatsafactjack on January 24, 2014 at 5:43 PM

My collie says:

Let’s face it, Carlos Danger is arguably the most infamous political douchebag in the history of the American republic.

Well, he certainly is the biggest laughing-stock, anyways. Kim Jong Un would have had him offed by now. Bill Clinton must be losing his touch.

The Weiner’s were recently asked to remove themselves from the free apartment belonging to a Clinton donor forcing them to find ‘a less expensive’ place to live.

H.R. Clinton is distancing herself from Weiner. She sent Huma on a long vacation after the last scandal erupted and Huma began to nearly quote her own remarks after Bill was caught in is affair with Monicka Lewinsky. This was clearly meant to distance herself from Huma at the time.

I’d say that Weiner is desperate to ingratiate himself with the Clinton’s again. However, I think Bill and Hillary are probably deeply unhappy about this statement and the renewed association.

You make some good points, but…

1. Democrats have kept re-electing their looney Congresscritters with absolutely no regard for advanced age. See “Robert Byrd” and “Daniel Inouye” for recently deceased examples, and current Democrat Old White Women Diane Fenstein (85), Bela Pelosi (73), Babs Boxer (also 73), Hillary, and Fauxahontas.

2. The Black vote is always 90% for the Democrat. Always has been and always will be. They will not abandon her.

3. The Iraq vote won’t hurt her.

I have to agree with Jackson, burrito. I think what she means is blacks won’t come out in record numbers for HRC. Yeah, she’ll get 90%, but 90% of 11 million as opposed to 90% of 20 million is a lot of lost votes.

Under the Barry-Hillary foreign policy, America’s standing in the world has substantially declined.

- Our allies no longer trust us. We no longer have a “special relationship” with Britain and, for obvious reasons, Obama’s approval in Israel is under ten percent.

- The Obama Regime threw our 35-year alliance with Egypt down the drain and then supported the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood, who began implementing shariah law, and burning Christian churches.

- The Benghazi disaster speaks for itself. Hillary willingly took part in the lie about the You Tube video.

- Obama’s failure to negotiate a SOFA in Iraq resulted in a total pull out, which was never the plan. With no U.S. presence in the country, cities like Fallujah and Ramadi have been taken over by the al-Qaeda J.V. squad.

I can build a global network for billion dollar companies. This does not mean my wife (lovely and smart though she is) should be at the top of your list to build your IT infrastructure after I quit.

Likewise, my wife ( a vet) can do kick arse surgery on your dog. If she retires, is it ok to ask me to pick up the scalpel if your dog limps?

I was surprised to see and terribly repulsed to hear Anthony Weiner on FOX recently. He’s gotta’ be the grossest, ugliest, most repulsive idiot among the Left, at least I hope he’s their limit in those regards.

Giving him air/media time is a great advertisement, however, for why the Left is Repulsive.

Next, whatinheck has Hillary Clinton ever DONE? Left claims there are “all her accomplishments, well known, no need to discuss them now…” as if everyone’s aware of what does not exist. They can’t name any accomplishments, they can only say those who ask for them to be identified are somehow out-of-touch and not to be answered.

So, what ARE her accomplishments? I’ve only seen a few and those involve the loss of human life by way of Hillary or husband’s or communal duo’s disregard for their value.

Progressive liberal Democrats love to make statements like “Hillary’s arguably the most qualified presidential candidate in U.S. history” but then they never make the argument. Let’s force them make the argument. They can’t, there is no there there in Hillary’s case. The loony left expects the statement to be a conversation ender much like calling a conservative a “racist”. We conservatives are afraid to make the argument against Hillary for fear of losing the “moderates” and women voters as “sexist pigs”. Hillary’s got a history and it ain’t pretty. We better trot the facts out now and make them common knowledge among the low information voters long before the primaries. We’ve got to “kill” her off now before she gets her full body plastic surgery and the media cleanses the written record.
