Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

posted at 8:01 am on January 12, 2014 by Allahpundit

It’s rare that a Sunday-show feeding frenzy over the scandal du jour doesn’t include at least one surrogate to defend the pol who’s caught in the middle, but that’s where we are this morning. The closest thing to a member of Team Christie that you’ll find is Reince Priebus on “Meet the Press,” who’ll do what he can to protect the Great Establishment Hope from blowing up on the 2016 launchpad.

Meanwhile, on “Face the Nation,” Marco Rubio is the only scheduled guest. He’s there to talk about poverty but his take on the House GOP’s new immigration initiative is more important for the moment. The full line-up is at Politico.

It is rather hilarious to watch the downfall of the narcissitic Christie. He will fall as fast as he rose. Anyone who believes that he was not behind the four day bridge to nowhere(NYC) lane closer in Ft. Lee is blind. the closure was due to retribution for Mayor Mark Sokolich’s failure to get in line and back Christie even though he was a dem.
Christie had a 40% lead at the time leading one to believe that he demands absolute obedience from anyone who wants the gifts he has to give as Gov. of one of the most corrupt states in the union.

Well done, “Bridge to nowhere (NYC)” hahaha! So true, so 1940′s why are we still holding this disaster up as a sign of respect? Financial Center Of The World…as if we have any money left. “Media Capital of The World”….Fox should relocate everything to Oklahoma City or such and change that (and save several hundred million$ annually). Why do we stay chained to the Commie Corridor northeast?

Time for change that makes SENSE, that we can BELIEVE in.

Day in and day out cmsinaz, you post some of the most well articulated points in your terse but concise style. This is the point.

Rather than focus on an aspect of the issue that would actually benefit Conservatism though, we’re seeing an opportunity to give someone who doesn’t toe our ideological line the business.

Well stated.

I thought I was the only one who bought socks in bulk. Doesn’t jam up my schedule though I always have to watch Three Stooges reruns. I always buy socks at the same place of the same type and color. That way they don’t ever have to be paired. Just dump them into the drawer and pull out any two. Another plus there’s never an odd sock.

And to the GOP: A perfect opportunity here to go on these shows, NOT defend Christie, and hammer the media for ignoring the MUCH WORSE abuse of power by Zero and Killery. Once there, you can talk about whatever you want. Perfect chance. Not taken. As usual.

Well kids, it’s Sunday morning, and then means it’s Propaganda Time for the DNC/Liberal Media. An unbroken lineup of Democrats will present the views Americans want to hear this morning, as long they aren’t conservative views.

Let’s have a gander:

“Meet the Press” on NBC
• Establishment GOP fundraiser
• Race-victim Liberal
• Oops! A social conservative!
• Lib
• Moderator: Liberal Democrat

NBC starts the day with what can only be described as a full airing of viewpoints. Unheard of for these scumbags.

“Face the Nation” on CBS
• Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.)
• Moderator: Liberal Democrat

The one-guest format continues to gain strength, and this week it is a GOP leader and once Presidential candidate vs. the lefty moderator. Another win for journalism. No propaganda yet!

“This Week” on ABC
• GOP back-bencher
• Kook Left
• Moderator: Liberal Democrat

Hmm…no conservatives, but no propaganda, either. What’s going on here?

“Fox News Sunday” on Fox
• Left Lib
• GOP
• Kook Left Lib
• Conservative!
• Liberal journalist
• Moderator: Liberal Democrat journalist

Outnumbered but at least represented.

“State of the Union” on CNN
• Kook Left Lib
• RINO Tool
• GOP Tool/Mouthpiece
• Moderator: Liberal Democrat

Very bad lineup for conservatives. Enemies all represented but not us. Today’s loser!

“Political Capital” on Bloomberg TV
• Fake Indian Kook Fringe Liberal
• Moderator: Liberal Democrat

Oops! Fauxcahontas trumps Fat Candy and steals Loser of the Day for Bloomberg. Major Upset!

“Newsmakers” on C-SPAN
• Liberal dope
• Moderator: None

C-Span’s one guest format makes it impossible to complain about the guest, even when it’s Steny the Dope.

“Al Punto” on Univision
• Race-victim Liberal
• Kook Left union-thug Liberal
• Moderator: Liberal Democrat

Solid lineup of liberal losers. Losers almost every week at the Racist News Network.

“Enfoque” on Telemundo
• GOP
• Greasy race-victim Liberal
• Moderator: Socialist Democrat

An addition to the lineup in the form of another whiny race-victim Mexican station (DO NOT call it Spanish … there won’t be a Spanish person on this show, ever).

In their inaugural, we get the “Strange New Respect” for a conservative who has mysteriously abandoned his previous anti-amnesty rhetoric. The fix is in. Paired with lefty moderator (natch) and Greasy Louis from Chicago. Perfectly awful.

Not a bad day for our side, kids. Lots of shows to skip, as always, but a couple of interesting lineups. Enjoy!

It’s obvious that the media and by extension the democrats are overplaying their hand.

There is no evidence but…. A) he HAD to know B) he MUST have known. Say it enough and the masses will hang Christie regardless of all the evidence that exonerates him. 15 minutes into meet the press they have tried to imply guilt, yet have nothing. WTF

Bensonofben on January 12, 2014 at 9:18 AM

Well we need to look on the bright side here:

1) Christie was not universally loved in the GOP and was always thought of as an egotist

2) The Media is showing OVERTLY that they are SO biased that it will undermine their credibility

3) the lesson is being reinforced that if you live by the press as a Republican you will die by the press.

You’d think the GOP would learn that even if you go full McCain the media will destroy you when it is convenient, or they are bored.

harlekwin15 on January 12, 2014 at 9:23 AM

The media is involved in a conspiracy to cover up Zero and the federal government committing massive abuse of power. If the GOP went on these shows and said that — Media. Conspiracy. Cover up. Obama. Abuse of Power. — over and over and over it would break through.

Media
Conspiracy
Cover Up
Obama
Abuse of Power

Chris Van Holland is a fcuking jerk. His “I hate Republicans” attitude is a step above even that same attitude displayed by BarryO. He says “minimum wage hasn’t been raised in a very long time” when in fact it was raised in July of 2009. When it comes to criticizing, excoriating, vilifying and demonizing Republicans he has facts and figures galore, as if they were the talking points that most Americans cared about.

It is possible that more and more of the movers and shakers of those currently located in NYC will see the folley that is NYC and leave it even faster than they arrived.
Rush did. Beck did. Let’s hope others follow their lead.
NYC is so pathetic in their leftward leanings that when Limbaugh does come to town he is taxed via city and N.Y. state income laws for every minute he is there!
This is the future of liberalism. Pay for the welfare state on the backs of the few producers that are left.
Those who say “no” or dare to leave, will be severely chastised.
I say better to point out/attack how bad the hard left results actually are and let the population make up its own mind.

Cindy Munford on January 12, 2014 at 1:13 PM

I have been telling this story for years; short version: the only Tea Party event I ever attended (New Lenox, IL) had wonderful people of all stripes and flavors. Pure mainstream America. Easy going, friendly, engaged, young and old. I spent the entire time there seeking signatures on a petition by a black conservative (Eric Wallace) to run for Senate. Got 100 signatures or so; one guy refused because he knew nothing about the candidate and did not sign petitions without full knowledge.

No one openly carrying; no one yelling; no visibly nutty types. They wanted lower spending, a balanced budget, and they did’t like the idea of a socialist nitwit in the White House. Now, why would the embedded, self-interested, D.C. elitist GOP incumbents have a problem with those folks?

Where are the talking heads talking about IRS, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the Gates Book? Some Republican (and I haven’t had a chance to watch any of the highlights yet) ought to say, “That’s old news. CHristie said all there is to say on it, there’s an investigation, so I don’t feel we need to talk about it until the investigation is over.” We all know the investigation will only drag on until they have something they believe they can nail Christie on. If they don’t find anything, they’ll leave the investigation hanging out there until they can spring something false, he’ll have to defend, on him just before the election.
