Open thread: New Year’s Eve

posted at 6:01 pm on December 31, 2013 by Allahpundit

In lieu of a QOTD, a little virtual gathering spot for Hot Air regulars to watch the ball drop together. From all of us to all of you, thanks so much for reading this year. While we wait for the clock to roll past an essentially arbitrary point in time, entertain yourselves with WaPo’s chart of how America’s drink preferences correspond to political preferences. Republicans like their whiskey; Democrats, true to communist form, prefer vodka; and centrists choose Malibu Coconut. True story: In my younger years, I once drank a whole bottle of the stuff. That’s how RINOism starts, my friends. Warn your children.

It wouldn’t be New Year’s Eve without predictions so let me offer you my traditional warm eeyorish tidings: This is going to be the worst year evah.

I sure hope when Obooboo announces his next 5-year plan tomorrow, it’s better than the last one. I hope we can make all those corn, wheat, cotton goals.

I don’t see the conflict here. The ELCA welcomes openly gay clergy. Fitting that they would be paired with a pro-sodomy salute.

OmahaConservative on December 31, 2013 at 10:32 PM

Yeah, I could have worded that better.

I once left a church, in part, because they had become a preschool with a church attached instead of the other way around. No matter the issue it always came down to what the preschool wanted or needed. I wasn’t interested in participating in a Christian community where the only thing that mattered was a “ministry” where most families were not even members of the congregation.

These people are in production with other projects, and could only get away over the Christmas season to attend the workshop. Though I often do these workshops online throughout the year, this one is special, face to face, very intense and brief, only two weeks. I wish all global warming eco-terrorist tourist stuck in the SUMMER ice pack a very happy new year.

Enjoy Antartica. Choppers may arrive in a few days.

At least you have plenty of ice for your drinks.

No… I used to love Colorado for skiing and rodeo… but not so much anymore… since they’ve lost their minds.

I’ll be right back… I’ve got to ride herd on the party for a few minutes. ;)
