Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

posted at 8:01 am on December 29, 2013 by Allahpundit

The last Sunday morning of 2013 features the most influential conservative of 2013. Ted Cruz sits down with “This Week” to discuss the upcoming debt-ceiling battle, his take on the two recent NSA rulings, and the Chamber of Commerce’s $50 million effort to make sure that no new Ted Cruzes join the Senate next November. I’m curious to hear his take on surveillance and metadata; he’ll have to start distinguishing his platform from Rand Paul’s if he’s planning to run in 2016 and that’s an obvious place to start.

The rest of the Sunday shows are almost wall-to-wall on the NSA and Snowden too. Michael Hayden is the lead guest on “Face the Nation” and House Intel Committee chair Mike Rogers, a Sunday-show mainstay, will be featured on “Fox News Sunday.” The full line-up is at Politico.

Here we are once again, boys and girls. Seated in our chairs for the DNC Media’s Weekly Propaganda Broadcast, wherein conservative opinions receive the rarest airing of any mindset, and each show is “moderated” by a dues paying liberal Democrat and the views of hardcore liberals make up the lion’s share of all opinions — despite the fact that fewer than 30% of Americans self-identify as “liberal”.

It’s amazing…it’s alarming…it’s Network News!

Let’s have a gander:

“Meet the Press” on NBC

• Conservative!
• Liberal
• Liberal
• Liberal GOP

Here we have the run-of-the-mill presentation by NBC: 4 liberals and 1 conservative.

“Face the Nation” on CBS

• Non-partisan administration buttboy and spook
• Unknown DC spook
• Unknown DC spook

Three outside players with ties to the grotesque administration, moderated by a left-fringe liberal. The retarded leading the blindfolded.

“This Week” on ABC

• Conservative standard-bearer, appearing mano a mano with liberal news opponent.

Despite the alarming incongruence of a high-profile conservative appearing alone on ABC, rest assured that the moderator will assume the posture of Teddy Kennedy to provide balance. Still…shockingly out of character.

“Fox News Sunday” on Fox

• GOP
• Liberal
• Kook-fringe liberal
• Liberal GOP
• Liberal

Remember…the only Republicans the media appreciates are the ones who vote with Democrats regularly. Four liberals, a RINO, and a garden-variety Republican.

“State of the Union” on CNN

• Kook-fringe liberal

CNN drops politics this week in favor of a video with Shark-Jumping lessons.

“Political Capital” on Bloomberg TV

• Just a guess: liberal Catholic celebrating the Pope’s seeming celebration of socialism.

“Newsmakers” on C-SPAN

• Kook-fringe liberal unionist

Solid.

“Al Punto” on Univision

• Liberal

The racist station celebrates liberalism with a racist twist! Wise Latina…

And there you have it, kids. We have never been at war with Eastasia.

Why does Hot Air send its posters/readers to politico to find out the Sunday Show info instead of FreeRepublic.com or other conservative websites? What’s with this place anyway?

Pisses me off, too, and I always want to puke when Allah is linking to Michael Tomasky columns. Why Tomasky? He’s a complete and total nobody liberal. I always assume it is to laugh at how kooky the left is.

But this has no explanation other than indifference to their uniform leftism.

Yet another feeble attempt to muddy the waters or revive the crumbling career of the wrong Rice whose carefully conceived butt carressing career from rat adm. to rat adm. was totally destroyed when she went on five thousand tv shows and proclaimed “it was the video stupid.” Even the once mighty NYT won’t be able to resurrect her graveside reassignment.

rodguy911 on December 29, 2013 at 9:26 AM

The report states that Al Queda was not involved and actually says that the video was part of the reason for this. In my opinion, the report does not absolve the State Department for lousy security and intelligence.

Who put the report together? It’s just a rehash of what the various parties have been putting out in their own self interest.

“Fox News Sunday” on Fox

Jailbones on December 29, 2013 at 9:23 AM

I quit watching Fox News after I noticed the change in tenor once the Saudi Prince had bought the second largest voting shares (7%) somewhere back in 2005.
Here’s one story:http://www.aim.org/press-release/saudi-billionaire-boasts-of-manipulating-fox-news-coverage/

Another: http://dianawest.net/Home/tabid/36/EntryId/2032/Did-Saudi-Prince-Buy-Fox-News-Silence.aspx

I only watch Fox Business, mainly Varney & Co. and a few others on FBN.
The rest is either just fluff or stupid stuff combined with legs and boobs. Not the news channel it used to be.

avagreen on December 29, 2013 at 10:34 AM

Self-identification by so-called liberals and conservatives is a red herring.

The 30% that call themselves liberal are socialist-lite to full-on statists.

Most people calling themselves moderates hold mostly liberal positions, especially as related to social issues. This group gives lip service only to fiscal sanity, and votes for big-spending politicians.

A plurality of those identifying as conservative are moderate.

Conservatives are perhaps 20% of the electorate.

Another Drew on December 29, 2013 at 1:21 PM

once the Saudi Prince had bought the second largest voting shares (7%)

Since Fox News, Fox Business, the WSJ, et al, are all part and parcel of Murdoch’s Fox Empire, and that Saudi Prince bought shares in Rupert’s Big-Toy Store, why would the tenor at Fox News change, but not elsewhere?

Prejudiced much?

Pretty much the same way they could consider making a community organizer and totally unqualified cypher president. Twice.

And yes, it is agonizing.

Because all those other entities that you listed (with the exception of WSJ)……..don’t have anything to do with putting out the news? How would they “change”?

FYI, while the editorial page of The Wall Street Journal is conservative, the newspaper’s news pages are liberal, even more liberal than The New York Times.
http://www.businessword.com/index.php?/weblog/comments/1642/

Another FYI: Murdoch is into much more than you listed.
