Video – Mary Landrieu and “The Lurking”

posted at 12:01 pm on December 7, 2013 by Jazz Shaw

When it comes to Senate Democrats on the endangered species list, about the only thing that Mary Landrieu (D-LA) has to be thankful for this season is that Mark Pryor is running at the same time. Amid sinking poll numbers and a voter base growing increasingly dismayed over the failed promises of the President’s health care law, things are looking pretty dismal. But strangely, in an interview with WAFB in New Orleans, Landrieu seemed to make the predictions of the DNC Chair come true by doubling down yet again.

Landrieu also responded to political attacks Wednesday on her support for Obamacare.

“The Affordable Care Act, as I said, the bill itself has got very good concepts and yes, I would support it again,” Landrieu said. “But, that doesn’t excuse the poor roll out of what should have happened. There should have not been a glitch in the software.”

Landrieu has sponsored a bill to allow Americans to keep their old policies. Insurance companies said they couldn’t offer policies at the same prices, though.

She’s clearly attempting to stick to the party line and pretend that the only problems with Obamacare are to be found in the crippled web site, but as the article notes, voters are already seeing the deeper problems and are not impressed. The Republicans aren’t letting up the pressure on Landrieu at all as we approach election year, and are even starting to have a bit of fun with it. Their latest ad, prepared for the voters of Louisiana, takes a decidedly over the top, swamp theme.

Beware what lurks in the swamps.

Maybe she’s decided it’s hopeless and she’d rather improve her resume for the post-government boondoggle.

A poor user interface is not what makes the law awful.

Libs still aren’t getting that point.

Higher costs, less choice, less care, and betrayal.

These are the things that are being “supported” by Landreauxeiu.

her job depends on her fidelity to barry….and The Party. Even if she is un-elected, she will have a lot of money afterward. Corn husker kickback guy is making a cool 1M per year as a lobbiest

no tears for Mary…she’ll wind up with a golden parachute…as long as she is loyal to the party.

the Left has absorbed loses before…but there’s a new sheriff in town…and so far he’s held the Senate, and the Party is happy

r keller on December 7, 2013 at 12:42 PM

Landrieu has completely abandoned Louisianians – she doesn’t care – she knows that she’s toast, and she is more interested in pledging her loyalty to obama and the DNC, than she is in serving the people who elected her.

It’s time for Landrieu to go.

Do not see how it is possible but she may be dumber than Obama.

That would explain a lot.

But Katrina was Bushs’ fault. Surprised that they haven’t got around to blaming him for this clusterfark.

Play it, over and over and over again. Spread it around, until Nov. 2014.

Send the Hillary-sounding scumhag home, where she belongs.

What an insufferable witch and biatch she is.

Landrieu, Pryor and a handful of others put the national travesty over the top, lying all the way.

Pitchfork every one of them, politically of course.

NO exceptions for the traitors and thugs of the land.

All who voted for the travesty, go home…go to Hell actually, and burn slowly/painfully.

2014 will bring dead people, on TV, with their families, all directly caused by YOU.

You are all savages.

jaywemm on December 7, 2013 at 1:26 PM

Before we get too excited about getting rid of her, lets not forget that re-election rates for the Senate are north of 90%, no matter how bad you are. Election to the Senate is more of a life-time appointment than an election. Add to that the high number of low-info welfare types in LA. And she only has to fool 50% of them. She is probably far better off than even she thinks.

Not even close to on-topic, but
Fed Prison population goes up 27%; costs go up 40%
That’s not how it’s supposed to work. Economics of scale say the price per prisoner should go down with more of them.

Your government at work.

This Idiot won’t ever change. She has her nose for far up Obama’s rear end she can’t figure out how to pull it out. No, she won’t change. That will be the largest defeat in the history of the Senate.

tmgrant on December 7, 2013 at 2:17 PM

Barry has promised Landreiu and others sweet government appointments when they fail, as long as they don’t badmouth ObamaCare. That was the crux of the meeting that the democrat senators had with Barry some weeks ago at the White House.

All ideologues know and understand is their ideology. That’s all that counts – even to the incredibly vapid. Add to that the demands of party loyalty, and Landireu is effectively trapped in a trap of her own making. She can either try to brazen and bluff her way forward by downplaying and minimizing the EpicClusterFark or she can just as quickly kill her career by turning on the Party and The One.

She knows that loyalty to the Party and Ideology is everything. That’s how it works within an authoritarian-fascist concept. She will be the good soldier who will fight to the end, employ any and all legal / illegal means to keep her seat, and then wait for the golden parachute reward from the Party that she sees as her due. After all, she sold her soul.

Athos on December 7, 2013 at 4:15 PM
