Winner of HHS YouTube contest for ObamaCare is called “Forget About the Price Tag”

posted at 9:11 pm on December 4, 2013 by Mary Katharine Ham

No, really. Young Erin McDonald won $2,000 for her Obamacare-promoting YouTube video based on Jessie J’s hit, “Price Tag.” The vocals and rewrite of the lyrics aren’t bad, but I give you the chorus. Sung seemingly without irony:

Ain’t about the, uh, cha-ching cha-ching
Ain’t about the, yeah, bling bla-bling
Affordable Care Act — Don’t worry about the price tag.

Emily Zanotti, who has the rest of the winners, in two other categories. Neither are as delightfully clueless as this offering, but there are white people rapping:

I suspect she doesn’t pay taxes, or she might have a problem with the billion-dollar price tag on the website alone. But whatever.

I loathe Obama’s crass, cultural insults when he can (and does) use them to his idea of “one upmanship” for himself. He’s such a grifter. A disgusting person.

It’s all about the price tag. If people wanted to over pay for health insurance they would’ve just dropped their plans and bought the most expensive insurance out there.

When you learn at any age, better sooner than later, that “life isn’t fair,” you’re a survivor and likely to be in at least better control over your own future and those of others you care about.

The Left, especially Obama, maintains that “life isn’t fair is unfair.” And there they dwell, placing their bets on the next victim they can use coming along as soon as possible.

That’s one of the creepiest videos I’ve ever watched. I think she overdubs her own voice, so it has a more pleasing quality. And she looks good. But the cognitive dissonance … it’s like the song “Springtime for Hitler, in Germany” from the Mel Brooks movie “The Producers”.

And … “don’t worry about the price tag”? Then … don’t worry about who pays? Who pays? Liberals say all conservatives care about is money, but, from where I sit … for MY money … that’s ALL liberals care about is money. Because they want everyone’s money, to divvy it up as they’d like, and … “don’t worry about the price tag”.

/let’s all sing together, “Springtime … for Hitler … in Germany!”

Paul-Cincy on December 4, 2013 at 9:40 PM

Helps that she’s cute. There was probably a Mooch lookalike who made a decent vid too but no one wanted to use such a face as the example for other younglings to follow, so they chose the hottie.

I don’t know how many people have caught on to this little irony.

In 2008 Obama appealed to these young people. He was, in fact, a far more likeable candidate than McCain. They voted for him overwhelmingly.

Well as he leaves office in 2016, the bloom of youth is off them as well. They will find themselves older twenty somethings still living at home, jobless, and kicked off their parents health care. Triple losers.

Happy Nomad on December 4, 2013 at 9:52 PM

Don’t worry about the price tag.

She’ll be singing a different tune later on when she looks at all the “deductions” on her pay stub. Along with the high deductible and co-pays on her health insurance.

Then you’ll hear……….

“Hey, like Dude! Where’s all the “free” stuff?

Happy Nomad on December 4, 2013 at 9:52 PM

I don’t remember the numbers for 2008, but in 2012 white Americans of both sexes and in every age bracket voted for Romney.

Due to deliberate government policies like non-white mass immigration, every generation is less white than the one before it, and non-whites as we know vote Democrat four to one.

So when people talk about “young people” voting Democrat, that’s non-whites voting Democrat – and white kids being out-voted.

It’s the old who gave away the country that deserve the blame for this – not white kids who were born outnumbered and outvoted.

David Blue on December 4, 2013 at 10:07 PM

Yeah, that pretty much right there explains the ~$18 trillion national debt. The only time the Democratic party ever even thinks to look at price tags is when it comes to defense spending.

This is pretty scary. Not to mention the fact that the President of the United States has been reduced to the benefits manager in our HR office. And, wasn’t he yesterday telling young people that buying health insurance was patriotic? Yeah, that will surely get them to go signup.

I heard Juan Williams say last night on Fox that college students should thank Obama that they can stay on their parents’ insurance plan. Except, college students have always been able to stay on their parents’ plan, up until age 24. Obamacare just extended it to age 26.

redguy on December 4, 2013 at 9:38 PM

Any illegal can buy “proof of citizenship” on the streets of Phoenix for $7.

The test is not whether the applicant has to provide “proof of citizenship,” but whether or not the government is actually verifying the authenticity of the “proof of citizenship” offered.

Given the people we’re dealing with, my guess is the answer is no. The Obama administration has been rubber-stamping “approved” on the hundreds of thousands of (illegally executive-ordered) DREAM act amnesty applications, without bothering to verify anything in the applications, including ID’s.

This performance and especially the lyrics are scarily copy of Stalin and Mao’s propaganda style. As I watched the clip I thought I was in China in the 60′s.

Considering the money and lives US wasted on fighting communism, this is sickening an irony.
