Obama: How terrible of Congress to ruin Christmas by … causing people to lose their insurance

posted at 4:11 pm on December 4, 2013 by Allahpundit

Via RCP, he’s talking about unemployment insurance, but no matter. When the man’s right, he’s right. What kind of monsters would sandbag an unsuspecting middle class by … taking away their coverage? How are people supposed to pay their bills now? Mom and dad were hoping to have toys under the tree this year and instead all they have is a cancellation notice. How awful.

Am I awake?

Actually, the difference between unemployment insurance and health insurance plans eliminated by ObamaCare is that Congress will, sooner rather than later, restore the former while the middle class is stuck paying higher premiums for “comprehensive” coverage that they don’t want or need forever. It’s not just this Christmas that mom and dad might be a little short. On the contrary, if Obama can’t get all of those disaffected millennials to sign up early next year and keep insurers flush with new revenue, next Christmas could be a lot rougher than this one.

The other big soundbite from today’s speech, by the way, was when he tipped his cap to the Elizabeth Warren fans in the audience by declaring that “government is us,” which I guess means “we” royally farked up Healthcare.gov. Why can’t “we” seem to do anything right anymore, America?

Some very interesting news in the past 3 weeks out of Kailua, by the way.

Last month, one of the State’s largest private landowners, Alexander & Baldwin, bought the entire downtown for $371 million. A & B was founded by the sons of evil White missionaries in the late 1800s. I’m sure growing up O’bao was taught by his mother and grandmother that such people were Pure Evil; now they own “his” Hawaiian town.

And now, Kailua’s residents have told the State that they are fed up with all of the increased tourist activity since O’bao started spending Christmas there!

Kailua tourists stay away, that is the message the town of Kailua, Hawaii is trying to get through to the state tourism board. The town wants to keep their hometown feel and they are being overrun with bed and breakfast establishments along with vacation rentals, according to Epoch Times on Nov.15.

-snip-

President Obama vacations on Kailua, it is a popular place for tourists, but the town’s people would like to keep tourism to a minimum. They want the state tourism board to stop encouraging people to come there.

Because of the popularity of Kailua, the real estate is going sky high, which makes it hard for locals to buy a house in the town they grew up in.

“Thank you President O’bama.”

THe most divisive President in my lifetime. I can’t think of a day when he doesn’t throw out some partisan crap. I also can’t remember any Republican that did that, only because they mostly had a Democrat Congress and didn’t want to alienate them.

The other fact this partisan hack of a President forgets is he’s President of the UNITED STATES. That includes the tea party, Republicans, and Independents. It includes the rich, the middle class, and the Democrat constituencies. The thing about this is his Democrats are just fine with this partisan crap. Republicans would have calmed him down.

Barack Obama, July 27, 2004

Now even as we speak, there are those who are preparing to divide us, the spin masters, the negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of anything goes. Well, I say to them tonight, there is not a liberal America and a conservative America—there is the United States of America. There is not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there is the United States of America. The pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats.

jaywemm on December 4, 2013 at 7:29 PM

So, Pres. Obama’s current condition:

Been the one who had to deal with the “we have not been able to work this out and the company feels we need to try some one else”, your just not cut out for all this pressure and bottom line we have to pay the bills”.

Some understand, some are like the current Pres. of the U.S. and have never ever met the real world of needing to be productive and be able to do the job as required.

So, some throw things at the one telling them to clean out their desk, or go pick up the final check, or as in the farm and ranch deal you try to hand them the cash and put a little extra in the hand.

Real bad hands will throw the cash back in your face, cuss at you, then drive off and leave gates open on the way to town so’s the old cows get out on the road or get to co-mingle with bulls at a bad time.

Some go home and call back with a .20 gage and rack a shell in the chamber with the phone up close and then hang up.

Sorry to say Pres. Obama is the leave the gate’s open type.

Take a look at the way he holds his jaw when he says “The Affordable Health Care Law Will Not be Repealed While I am In Office”. Juts it out, sort of side ways, he will go revenge and off the rail soon, flip out, go all mean eyed and revenge seeking.

Been there done that.

Yes, this is how liberals think: The government is we the people. The government is everyone. Therefore, what’s not to like? Obama is just reflecting what every liberal I know espouses.

They seem to have no ABILITY to distingish between the people who govern, and the governed, and the Constitutional limits NECESSARY to prevent the EXCESS use of government!

Any hare-brained idea they have, they think government should try because government is just “We the People.”

Meanwhile back at the White House:

The White House will not insist that an emerging budget deal include an extension of the unemployment benefits program set to expire at the end of the year, press secretary Jay Carney said on Friday.

Carney said that it would be “terrible to tell more than a million families across the country just a few days after Christmas that they’re out of benefits,” but that the White House was agnostic on how the extension happened.
