Obama on ObamaCare: There’s no way we’re repealing this boondoggle while I’m president, America

posted at 6:41 pm on December 3, 2013 by Allahpundit

Is this really the message Democrats wanted him to put out today, when news outlets are filled with stories about rate shock, glitchy enrollments, and catastrophic security lapses? I thought the headline was supposed to be “ObamaCare is wonderful,” not “There’s nothing you can do.” Good lord. This feels like a communique from Two-Face to Gotham city:

nbc
bb
bbc
dm

The clip shows him engaged in a common lie, that there are no conservative alternatives to ObamaCare, but that’s probably his best play from a weak hand. If you think something should be done about the health-care system, well, ObamaCare qualifies as “something.” Even if it all goes to hell next year, at least he tried, right? Maybe that’ll save a Senate seat or two for Democrats. He also assured his audience today that O-Care will help reduce the number of uninsured in America, which might eventually be true but surely isn’t true at the moment. As Jim Geraghty notes, the number of people forced out of their old plans and onto the exchanges by HHS’s ObamaCare regs greatly exceeds the number of new enrollees right now, and even some substantial segment of the latter is unhappy with the terms of the new coverage they’ve obtained. Even now, after the media’s finally awakened from its coma and begun to clue people in to the fact that ObamaCare is basically a wealth transfer from the healthy and middle class to the sick and lower class, he refuses to sell it that way. He wants a gold star for shifting the former into pricey “comprehensive” plans that they never asked for in the first place. You’re welcome, America.

Never forget, for all his hyperventilating about the junk insurance that Americans were supposedly stuck with before the dawn of this boondoggle, his idea of improving health care for the poor is to expand the junkiest insurance of all.

If Øbama were smart, he would let Clinton work out a compromise with Republicans in the House so that Boehner gave approval to “fixes” to PPACA and have the fixes pass in the Senate, then turn around and say that Republicans made it worse by demanding the fixes that the Executive couldn’t implement… then Democrats could blame Boehner, Republicans would be running to fix Øbamacare and Ø could get back to his golf game in between grandstanding every three days to blame Republicans.

I got that real good feel good stuff
Up under the seat of my big black jacked up truck
Rollin’ on 35s
Pretty girl by my side

You got that sun tan skirt and boots
Waiting on you to look my way and scoot
Your little hot self over here
Girl hand me another beer, yeah!

All them other boys wanna wind you up and take you downtown
But you look like the kind that likes to take it way out
Out where the corn rows grow, row, row my boat
Floatin’ down the Flint River, catch us up a little catfish dinner
Gonna sound like a winner, when I lay you down and love you right
Yeah, that’s my kind of night!

Might sit down on my diamond plate tailgate
Put in my country ride hip-hop mixtape
Little Conway*, a little T-Pain, might just make it rain

You can hang your t-shirt on a limb
Hit that bank and we can ease on in
Soak us up a little moonlight
You know I know what you like, yeah!

Time to have fun guys! Courtesy of Luke Bryan

This. This +1000.

From day one I sat with AJ and we talked about how we all should pray for President Obama to do a great job. We prayed that he would bring the country together and help us move on from the financial debacle just as President Bush helped got us through 9/11.

Sadly, our prayers went unheeded. Or perhaps they were heard, and God just said, “No.” He does that sometimes, usually to teach us a lesson that we need to learn. And if that’s the case, the lesson we need to learn is that Jefferson was right, and he is governed best that is governed least.

So now AJ and I pray for our country. We pray for Obama, too, but mostly it’s just that he goes away quietly. Each performance like this makes it clear he’s past the point of learning how to be President, and indeed he seems psychologically damaged. I half expect to see him on MSNBC in 2017.

Still Americans chose to ignore it all, blindly followed him, & still does despite the countless Constitutional violations, broken laws, targeting & inflcting of pain on citizens, supporting and aiding of terrorists, destroying the health care system, and arrogant defiant declarations that he will not stop until he has succeedes in destroying this nation.

Karl Marx told the worls America would never be destroyed from without but from within. The 60′s radical liberal bomb throwers like the man in whose living room Obama announced his intent to run for President realized the futility of their actions and the wisdom in Marx’s words. They realized the way to take over & destroy America as it was – the only way to do so – was from WITHIN.

They began taking over the schools and indoctrinating the children and college kids. They began infiltrating govt, but not until Obama did they ever win the Presidency. If there is one thing we have learned about Islam/Muslims is/are it/they is/are extremely payient
Americans have the attention span of a flea while our enemies never lose focus. Now, decades later, the radicals have waited patiently for the seeds of revolution planted long ago and cultivated over time are finally coming to fruition…with almost no opposition.

Is it within Muslims to sell out their nation/people/faith for personal greed? No. Americans, however, have sold their freedom, the Constitution, & this nation to ‘the enemy’ for government handouts which allow them to do nothing but cssh checks. The problem occurs when that goverment stop sendong the checks they have become addicted & dependent on. The ‘sheep’ have made taking over & destroying this nation all too easy for Obama.

easyt65 on December 3, 2013 at 10:15 PM

The enenies within have identified themselves and are united together to ensure ‘Rome burns’. The question is are there any more ‘patriots’…any more Washingtons, Jeffersons, etc…willing to fight for this nation’s survival?!

Our elected politicians, those who forced laws like Obamacate down our thtoats have decided to represent themselves rather than the people. Their demand that we pay massive health care premium increases AND pay 70% of THEIR health care premiums…while giving them an annual pay increase and perks for their betrayal and greed is evidence. The truly remarkable thing is they have us so brainwashed that we fight each other over whose candidate is less criminal than hold them equally accountable. No wonder there is no opposition to those who seek to fulfill Marx’s prediction!

There is a giant reason the socialist left deliberately chose to go down the tube if need be, in order to get in Obamacare or Hillarycare whatever. That is they must gain control of every man women and child in America. Healthcare affects everyone.
Think of that and wonder why climate change (every man woman and child can be controlled)”climate change” controls will affect everyone–man women and child.
Think of the relentless push to confiscate guns and ammo of the responsible gun owner (but they’re not so eager to take them out of the inner cities, where they are misused and abused daily. Why, because without confiscation, force is risky.
It all serves as one undeniable pattern of a movement to deprive us of our freedom–also known as “a fundamental change to America.”

No “alternative” was ever needed. It was never “healthcare” that was broken in the first place. What is needed is tort reform, and lobbying reform. Break up the “cartel” of “big pharma” and stop the ambulance chasers like John-boy Edwards from getting filthy rich “defending” victims who always get the smaller percentage of any “settlement.”

You eliminate the price-fixing that goes into meds, and take care of doctors having to carry ridiculously high premiumed “malpractice insurance” they pass the expense of onto their patients – voila!

Never forget, for all his hyperventilating about the junk insurance that Americans were supposedly stuck with before the dawn of this boondoggle, his idea of improving health care for the poor is to expand the junkiest insurance of all.

Obamacare is at its core an expansion of welfare at the expense of the middle class.

You eliminate the price-fixing that goes into meds, and take care of doctors having to carry ridiculously high premiumed “malpractice insurance” they pass the expense of onto their patients – voila!

Reforming Medicaid and Medicare would also help. They are big drivers in running up the cost of medical care for everybody.

The government estimates that there is over $30 billion a year in fraud and waste in these programs. The real number is probably twice (at least) the official government estimate, as the government always significantly underestimates the degree to which it’s allowing taxpayers to be ripped off.

The government has little ability or incentive to stop the rampant fraud, and even less to stop the waste. We’d be better off just giving vouchers to the M/M eligible, and letting them use the money as they wish in the private market. The market does a much better job policing fraud/waste than the government does.

The GOP is going to have to develop and push heavily an alternative health care policy.

Mark1971 on December 3, 2013 at 6:49 PM

Why? Seriously why? There was nothing wrong with the status quo before Obama made his insane off the cuff statement on what he would accomplish during his first term, and he blurted out this turd.

Fact is, health care was not “broken” in this country. It was disjointed and not applied evenly through all 50 states, but it wasn’t broken.

The GOP doesn’t have to push anything because they don’t own this. Most people just want to see O Care go away.

Johnnyreb on December 3, 2013 at 7:29 PM

Yep. This is the proggies’ fallback position, that the Republicans have to have a program ready to go that cures all the world’s ills, then and only then would they allow ‘replacement’ of Obamacare.

Of course, they proggies know that they will be able to debate for years the features of the new Republican plan while Obamacare remains to stink up the place.

Repeal has to be Step One, because what we had pre-Obamacare was a magnitude better that the pile of crap we have now. Yes, there were a few minor problems with healthcare pre-Obamacare, but nothing that can’t be taken care of without a massive socialist redistributionist takeover.
