The Ed Morrissey Show: Joe Scarborough, Steven Crowder

posted at 2:37 pm on November 21, 2013 by Ed Morrissey

Today on The Ed Morrissey Show (4 pm ET), MSNBC host and former Congressman Joe Scarborough returns to discuss his new book, The Right Path: From Ike to Reagan, How Republicans Once Mastered Politics — and Can Again. We’ll also talk about the nuclear option in the Senate and whether that provides opportunities for Republicans as well.  In the first half, Steven Crowder returns to talk about culture, politics, and his latest ventures.

The Ed Morrissey Show and its dynamic chatroom can be seen on the permanent TEMS page. Be sure to join us, and don’t forget to keep up with the debate on my Facebook page, too!

Joe Scarbourough?

Why?

stenwin77 on November 21, 2013 at 2:44 PM

Balance. 1 conservative, 1 commie.

Alberta_Patriot on November 21, 2013 at 2:50 PM

I’ll pass.

Eph on November 21, 2013 at 2:52 PM

Wash your hands after the show.

celtic warrior on November 21, 2013 at 2:56 PM

Ask Joe how they make Mika look so real. She’s almost life-like.

portlandon on November 21, 2013 at 2:59 PM

Sorry but Joe can take his book and shove it where the sun don’t shine. What the hell is a liberal bastard doing writing a book about Republicans anyway? It would be like somebody like me extoling JFK as an inspirational leader, good father, and decent human being (all myths built up after he was killed).

Happy Nomad on November 21, 2013 at 3:04 PM

Almost being the key word. ;0

Happy Nomad on November 21, 2013 at 3:05 PM

I’d rather have a root canal than waste my time listening to ANYTHING Joe has to say.

stenwin77 on November 21, 2013 at 3:13 PM

Joe Scarborough. A real ratings booster for The Ed Morrissey Show. I would listen but I just got my 15 cd pack of Barack Obama’s greatest speech’s.

RickinNH on November 21, 2013 at 3:14 PM

Joe Scarborough …. that face … backpfeifengesicht.

M240H on November 21, 2013 at 3:14 PM

Sigh.

bluegill on November 21, 2013 at 3:17 PM

I think Ed Morrissey is very much in line with Joe Scarborough’s politics.

Ed, tell him your readers think he’s a horse’s a$$.

aquaviva on November 21, 2013 at 3:22 PM

Ed, if you have a chance ask the coffee guy how he is with swapping over to Sweet TEA? ; )

Bmore on November 21, 2013 at 3:40 PM

Ask him about the dead lady in his office…

idesign on November 21, 2013 at 3:44 PM

Ask him if the Republicans are going to get crushed in 2014 still because the country loathes the NRA.
Then ask him where did his daily antiNRA rants go.

Marcus on November 21, 2013 at 3:44 PM

I don’t usually get all worked up about the “RINO” talk around here as it pertains to AP or whatever. But inviting Scarborough on here is offensive in the extreme. That man is only next to McCain and possibly Frum as absolute cancers to the Republican party and should NOT be given any platform whatsoever by people who care about this country.

Shame on Morrissey and Hotair. Real and absolute shame.

Alberta_Patriot on November 21, 2013 at 2:50 PM

Who’s the Conservative?

Another Drew on November 21, 2013 at 3:47 PM

I’m beginning to think that Hotair is a subsidiary of MSNBC.

Kirkian on November 21, 2013 at 3:53 PM

Thanks for the warning, Ed! Now I know not to tune and listen to JOE FREAKING SCARBROUGH. Instead I’ll just chew broken glass.

Kensington on November 21, 2013 at 3:53 PM

I saw Joe on some Fox show the other day and he was brown-nosing and kissing some serious @ss. He seemed to be asking for a job. Anyone else see that appearance?

Maybe it was just marketing the book.

freedomfirst on November 21, 2013 at 3:54 PM

Ask him why he stole Waldo’s fashion.

Kirkian on November 21, 2013 at 3:55 PM

freedomfirst on November 21, 2013 at 3:54 PM

I had read he was on “Fox and Friends” that crushes him everyday. Could that be true?
Hannity is on the inside and says Scarborough’s resume and audition tapes repeatedly pass through the FoxNews offices. The guy is a chameleon, looking to blend in for a paycheck wherever.

Marcus on November 21, 2013 at 4:03 PM

Does Joe earn pin money from you guys? What is it with Hotair and Joe? He is SUCH a suck up to Valerie Jarrett, slum lord, for one… and then he trashes Ted Cruz.

freedomfirst on November 21, 2013 at 3:54 PM

I think there is something to this – Fox is hiring all the CNN cast offs and I bet MSNBC is going to go the full “not a single non lefty” Monty and Joe knows it so now, Fox looks pretty darn good…

djl130 on November 21, 2013 at 4:10 PM

Ask Scarborough what he thinks the phrase “small government conservative” means. He calls himself this. CONSTANTLY. I would really like to hear his definition. Then I would like to hear how that matches up with his support for Bloomberg’s soda ban. How he can back Ron Paul AND be anti-NRA. Why Ted Cruz is an extremist, but Rand Paul and Ron Paul aren’t.

I think the answer to all these things is clear. He is against whatever his friends on the Upper West Side are most upset about that week. Since leftists love the Pauls for foreign policy reasons (and because they cause chaos in Republican primaries), they are OK (even though they have all the wrong views on guns, abortion, and so much else).

Joe Scarborough is everything that is wrong with the media and with the Republican Party. Why on earth are you helping him sell books???

D0WNT0WN on November 21, 2013 at 4:11 PM

Wow, Crowder got fat!

WryTrvllr on November 21, 2013 at 4:17 PM

Same network as ol’ sh!t-mouth Martin Bashir, no?

Anyone with decency would resign rather than work in the same building as that guy.

TexasDan on November 21, 2013 at 4:24 PM

BTW, 404 on the “permanent TEMS page” link.

TexasDan on November 21, 2013 at 4:25 PM

WryTrvllr on November 21, 2013 at 4:17 PM

He got married.

portlandon on November 21, 2013 at 4:26 PM

And ask him if he really expects his audience to believe people are running up to him in airports all the time expressing RINO love and Conservative hate. Is he confusing that with asking the time?

Marcus on November 21, 2013 at 4:28 PM

He got married.

portlandon on November 21, 2013 at 4:26 PM

he’s past 27

DanMan on November 21, 2013 at 4:33 PM

Joe Scarborough

LESS Scarborough would be nice. Liberals like Scarborough should be monitored, but never given additional outlets for their stupidity.

Pork-Chop on November 21, 2013 at 4:54 PM

Maybe it will be Whoopi Goldberg tomorrow. Perhaps EJ Dionne. No, make a date with Chris Christie Ed. He’s pretty much like Joe.

DanMan on November 21, 2013 at 5:06 PM

This is a good interview.

aquaviva on November 21, 2013 at 5:08 PM

Joe’s a skilled chameleon.

aquaviva on November 21, 2013 at 5:09 PM

Way too much time with Scarborough, Ed.

besser tot als rot on November 21, 2013 at 5:10 PM

Lots of coffee fans showed up. Lolz!

Bmore on November 21, 2013 at 5:10 PM

When Ed interviewed Rubio he basically played footsie with him. I was so disappointed. Never really challenged him.

Also, a few weeks ago Ed interviewed an illegal alien amnesty activist and didn’t challenge him either during the interview.

bluegill on November 21, 2013 at 3:19 PM

Yep.

besser tot als rot on November 21, 2013 at 5:14 PM

There’s a saying for what has happened to Ed since he started spending a bunch of time with these DC folks. It’s called, “going native.”

besser tot als rot on November 21, 2013 at 5:16 PM

Who’s the Conservative?

Another Drew on November 21, 2013 at 3:47 PM

Crowder.

Ed (again) embracing his inner RINO. Sad. Scumborrow is a complete waste of time.

Jaibones on November 21, 2013 at 5:25 PM

On the other hand, I’ve spent pretty much my entire adult life surrounded by leftists and statist, living in the most left-wing bastions of the country. Spending most of my time affiliated with industries having the most left-wing cultures – academia, law, federal government. And, yet, I don’t feel the urge to become a pinko or kiss the a$$ of every statist that gives me a little attention. I guess another old saying applies to me: “you can take the boy out of the country, but can’t take the country out of the boy.”

besser tot als rot on November 21, 2013 at 5:25 PM

WTF? Joe Scarborough?

Why give this manhattan commie legitimacy?

Hot Air – Leaning towards the establishment, one day at a time.
