Obama: By the way, the ObamaCare website’s not really my fault either

posted at 8:31 pm on November 14, 2013 by Allahpundit

I wanted to do a big recap of today’s presser for you but, candidly, I lack the mental strength. Someone on Twitter said it sounded more like a therapy session than a presidential news conference; it was, very possibly, the single lamest moment of his presidency. You can slog through the whole rambling mess here if you’re morbidly curious. My big takeaway from it:

We’re not done with “they-a culpa” statements from The One about ObamaCare, by a long shot.

Here’s 60 seconds of what he had to say about the Healthcare.gov apocalypse, although it isn’t the entirety. Later he hinted that, while things will be working better on November 30th, America shouldn’t assume that they’ll be “working,” exactly, which is really just crap icing on the sh*t cake he served to Democrats today. The point of what he says below is to minimize his culpability for that failure too. Sure, he’s to blame in a vague buck-stops-here sort of way, but of course he didn’t know in advance just how terrible the launch would be. It’s worth noting that his old friends in the insurance industry think that’s transparent BS; they knew it was in trouble early on and they didn’t have Sebelius and Marilyn Tavenner available at a moment’s notice to answer questions like O did. As it is, he told Chuck Todd last week that he met with the two of them “once a month.” Once a month — to oversee the biggest liberal domestic policy initiative in probably 50 years, whose humiliating failure could be catastrophic for his party in the midterms and beyond. After watching this clip, my first thought was, “If it’s true, shouldn’t he fire Sebelius for misleading him?” But really — if it’s true, shouldn’t he resign for being too incurious about the rollout of his signature “achievement” to anticipate the problems? My hunch is he knew full well how bad things were but, by touting it as an Amazon.com for health insurance in the weeks before launch, he created enough plausible deniability that he could claim later that he was kept in the dark about the whole thing. Better to be seen as a passive administrator whose underlings abused his trust than the guy who aggressively masterminded the most epic website catastrophe in the history of the Internet to date.

I’ll leave you with this from MK:

It is disrespectful to call a liar out on his lies?

You have a totally fked sense of morality. I feel sorry for everyone related to you and who has to deal with you on a daily basis. What a perverted and reprobate human.

Look at it this way, nonpartisan. If my husband came to me and told me that for the past four years he’d been carrying on with another woman and depleted our bank account in her direction, but he was sorry now, I COULD forgive him.

But – there’s no law that I have to. I could prefer to go it alone, and maybe find a better man. Which I would likely do if I knew that he was a perpetual liar anyhow.

Saying you’re sorry doesn’t mean everyone has to forgive you and let you carry on.

Particularly if you aren’t really sorry, and most especially if you lied to the other person in order to trick them into something they wouldn’t have agreed to otherwise. (Which is much worse than a mere straying husband, by the way.)

See?

What should be the penalty for ignoring federal law and granting waivers to said law without authority to do so?

Obama deserves no respect because he has never respected the office of the Presidency… Never before in the history of the Republic there has been such an utterly incompetent fool for a President… In addition to his utter failure on every level, he never understood what it means to be President of All the Americans and rather he is by far the most partisan President in history who call his opponents by name and attacks them 24/7… He is a small man with no shame… A 24/7 liar.. This man belongs in a street corner in Chicago agitating the parasites and welfare queens and not in the most powerful office in the world…

How could the Republicans help Democratics turn a cowpie into a pumpkin pie? What could they do? Can “working across the aisle” turn cowpie into pumpkin pie? If the TEA Party stands down, will Obama be able to turn the cowpie into a pumpkin pie?

Just tell how we can help turn cowpie into pumpkin pie.

Once upon a time, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was passed by a Dem President. It was the law at the time. Dems decided that wasn’t good enough and they used their majority to get rid of it, EVEN THOUGH it was the law.

Once upon a time, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was introduced by a Dem president. Dems hated it. It was passed by overriding Dem votes. It is the law, EVEN THOUGH Dems hated it.

Once upon a time, slavery was legal in the U.S. A Repub President ended it by executive order. Only when enough Repubs had the majority did we change the Constitution to try and grant civil rights to black Americans, because Dems were not about to let that happen.

Yep, more proof that when a Dem favors a law, it is therefore untouchable because “It’s. The. Law.” If a Dem doesn’t like a law, it is malleable and changable.

Now that Dems have produced a law during a two year stint in the majority, they are screaming about how wrong it is to try to stop a law.

Now that…that there is funny.

My hunch is he knew full well how bad things were but…

I strenuously disagree. There is nothing – nothing! – in Obama’s Presidency to indicate that he has any acumen outside of himself. He has never demonstrated his much-touted intelligence; his entire Administration had a dream beginning, but has been in reactive mode on everything ever since. He has never seen anything coming, he is always caught off-guard, and he always learns things after the fact. He is a woefully incurious, incompetent executive who deals solely in blame-shifting. He truly has no idea what it means to be in charge, much less to take charge. Every Presidential activity in which he has been engaged has been dragged out of his reluctant self.

Truly, I have never seen anything that makes me think he is smart or knowledgeable. He has always reminded me of the car-chasing dog who caught the car: ‘what on earth do I do with it now?’

You are nothing if not consistently dishonest.

He has not owned anything. Like the ignorant, petulant child he is, Barry blames everyone else for his failures and admits not mistakes on his own part.

And, he doesn’t even admit anything. He doesn’t admit that Obamacare was designed to take everyone’s plan away and force them into the exchanges. He doesn’t admit that is the entire point of obamacare – he still is lying to the american people – because that is all leftists have to argue with – lies.

If he “owned” it he would admit this is exactly how Obamacare was designed to operate and that everyone’s care will be rationed and cost more and that is the exact point of Obamacre. Or, if he won’t admit that, he would call for repeal of the entire law and say “we should start over, we didn’t know what we were doing and are idiots.”

Obama is by far the most dishonest hack to ever be president. He is also one of the least intelligent people to ever be president. The guy is practically an imbecile.

The only “achievement” he has is Obamacare and it is an utter failure. What else has he achieved? I know, I know, he was president when 8+ years of military/intelligence efforts found and killed OBL. Yes, yes. Great. Other than that? Increased spending? Increased debt? High unemployment? Lousy foreign policy? Being the least transparent administration ever? Constantly going out and claiming he doesn’t know what is going on in his administration a la the IRS, Obamacare, Fast and Furious?

Obama will be rated as one of the worst, most incompetent presidents in american history, and rightly so.

I’m also curious how the tea party stopped the bureaucracy from doing what the law told them to do.

It was only weeks ago where liberals bleated the mantra “It’s The Law!” Yeah, it is the law. It passed. The executive bureaucracy got to make up much of The Law and implement it. But now the tea party stopped and impeded a branch of government that Obama runs exclusively and absolutely.

It’s also ironic that nonpartisan is claiming Obama has taken ownership of this fiasco while also blaming the tea party. Nonpartisan apparently has an intimate understand of the type of leadership and ownership Obama has to offer.

no president has ever been sabotaged as much as Obama has…and I truly hope his race has nothing to do with that

It’s not his race, idiot. It’s his idiocy and arrogance. YOU have a charlatanic fraud who’s president. Wake up already, partisan hack.

One of the real tragedies of all of this : for decades decent minorities fought for civil right and equalities – and the moment they get their first black president he turns out to be a dictator – liar – a complete fraud !

Well, his signature “acheivement”, like his presidency, is one big flipping joke. Unfortunately, the joke is on us, and I for one am not laughing.

If this guy wasn’t so dangerous he’d be a knee slapping joke.

“Sabotaged”, my backside. This incompetent has received nothing he didn’t deserve.

Exactly how has Obama been sabotaged?

Those racist terrorist Tea Partiers didn’t send their good thoughts to the President.

If they had done so, then the website would have worked flawlessly and everyone in the country would have affordable healthcare… just like Tinkerbell being brought back to life.
