Oh my: Obama falls to 39% job approval in new Gallup poll; Update: Under 50% among Latinos too

posted at 2:01 pm on November 5, 2013 by Allahpundit

I told you it was coming and now here it is.

ga

His all-time low in Gallup is … 38 percent, which he reached twice in late summer and fall 2011 before rebounding. This is why I thought it was noteworthy last week when his favorable rating ended up negative for the first time in that WSJ/NBC poll. He’s had dips in job approval before but retained his personal popularity with voters. People liked him even when they thought he was doing a bad job, which I think provided a floor for his overall approval rating. I’m not sure that floor is there anymore. He’s had a horrendously bad month, from the shutdown to the Healthcare.gov nightmare to the new wrinkles about NSA spying to, of course, the fiasco of “if you like your plan” having been exposed as a grand lie. If you supported Obama before because you thought he’d be an omnicompetent best-and-brightest liberal technocrat, your image of him has been shattered by the Healthcare.gov rollout. If you supported Obama before because you thought he was a straight-shooting hopey-changey fighter for the middle class, your image of him now has to be reconciled with the fact that millions of middle-class people are being forced into more expensive coverage and that O lied, lied, lied his ass off about it for three years. I said it in the WSJ/NBC post and I’ll say it again: Given the amount of crap raining on him, he’s lucky to be as high as 39 percent. If the website can’t be fixed this month and he’s forced to do something drastic like delaying the law for six months, some liberals will abandon him too and he’ll end up in the low 30s. And yes, even a lame duck’s approval rating matters:

It’s -14 today, a full year removed from the midterms. Where will it be in October 2014, a month removed, when the new, almost certainly higher insurance rates for 2015 are released?

I have no new Obama video for this post so here’s Toronto Mayor Rob Ford admitting that he’s smoked crack in the past. Approval rating: 43 percent.

Update: Latinos are big supporters of ObamaCare under normal circumstances, but a month of Glitchpalooza and lies about people keeping their plans isn’t “normal circumstances.” He’s at 49 percent now, down nine points since the week before.

I would imagine many middle class Hispanics are getting cancellation letters too this month. When all that’s on the table is amnesty, supporting Obama is easier. When O-care hits your wallet, that’s another story.

And yet Obama – Mr. Unpopular – goes in to VA and campaigns for McCauliffe and the scumbag is going to win by 6 to 12 points over a true Reagan conservative.

conservativemusician on November 5, 2013 at 2:58 PM

The fact that the GOP hates and fears true Reagan conservatives far more than Democrat scumbags has a lot to do with this.

By claiming that what we were saying about Obamacare was a lie. Unfortunately for Obama, Obamacare’s impacts are no longer theoretical. They are being experienced by Americans every single day and people understand that he lied to them.

Resist We Much on November 5, 2013 at 2:53 PM

It’s ironic that many Congressional Democrats that wrote and passed this turd were the ones that paid the price (in 2010) while the delay of implementation they wrote ultimately gave Obama a pass on Election Day 2012.

I am really looking forward to Obama’s “pivot” to “immigration reform.”

Here are some “immigration reform” questions I hope he gets asked:

(1) If millions of low-income illegal aliens are going to get amnesty (i.e. legal status) under your “immigration reform” plan, will they then qualify for Obamacare subsidies, and if so, how many billions of dollars a year will that cost American taxpayers?

(2) Won’t handing out hundreds of billions of dollars a year in taxpayer-funded O-Care subsidies to amnestied illegals blow up yet another one of your Obamacare promises — that Obamacare “won’t add one dime to the deficit”?

(3) If millions of low-income illegal aliens are not going to be eligible for Obamacare, that will give them a significant advantage over Americans when competing for scarce jobs, because it will cost employers thousands of dollars less to hire an O-Care-ineligible amnestied illegal than to hire an American job applicant. Is it really fair to American job seekers to put them at that kind of disadvantage?

(4) If you were willing to repeatedly lie to the American public about O-Care, and we have all seen that you did, then how can any American ever trust you to keep your word about new border security or immigration enforcement measures?

Here are the numbers:

13% of voters are Hispanics and they will support him at 45% rate no matter what…

74% of voters are whites and they will support him at 25% rate no matter what ( Yes, 25% support is totally miserable)….

The only reason he is President is blatant racism by blacks.

can you fix the link to Ford’s statement? Drudge link is down too.

Add to that : In almost every aspect of the economy they are doing worse.

It’s tough to be Santa Claus this time of year when you don’t have any goodies to give out. Don’t we have another budget battle and debt ceiling crisis coming up right around Christmas?

monalisa on November 5, 2013 at 4:51 PM

That’s striking. And true, they now have their chaos calendared I am sure. Never let a crisis……

The Admin prints money at will….

I think if it was up to them Christmas should be cancelled.

Echoing through the halls of the White House goes out the call:
“Turn up the Anti-Republican Party Machine! Get Michelle on more covers of magazines! Time to buy another dog! We need a natural disaster so Obama can hug somebody! Hide Joe Biden! Get me a photo-op with Bill Clinton! Get Chris Christie to the White House so he can hug me! We need those ratings up, people!”

‘Why ask the liar in chi9ef any questions other than

1.Why do you lie to your own people?
2.Why should we believe anything you say?
3.How long have you experienced this love affair–with deceit?
4. How’s that unity thing going?

Don L on November 5, 2013 at 6:30 PM

Congratulations to CNN, which totally ignored this new poll result during their 6-6:30 PM hour.

Well done, Wolfie! There will be a little something extra in your paycheck this week…

Del Dolemonte on November 5, 2013 at 6:31 PM

So, someone tell me what exactly this disapproval does to help us at this point in time? You can bet the farm that by the time the 2014 elections comes around, Obama will be the King again and all of his loyal serpents will be re-elected. And the biggest kick in the mouth, FOX News and their new agenda will do this. Perfect example, O’Reilly, I don’t think the President is a Liar. Please let me be wrong, a year from today.

Is anyone else getting low on popcorn? I seem to be going through an awful lot…

dominigan on November 5, 2013 at 6:40 PM

everyone does know that this won’t last…right? The histpanics are upset only that the website sucks…once the website is ok then they will be barry.bots for life.

the stories that we haven’t heard is all the success of getting low income (or fake) people onto Medicaid. That is a big deal if you are a leftist. If fact the phrase Medicare for All is, as usual, a lie by the left. Medicare has a 20 percent co-insurance…and tons of insurers sell medicap insurance

the left really like medicaid for all…one payer, wage and price controls, and all the glory of cuba style healthcare. This is still their goal…and all this caterwauling is just noise along the way

r keller on November 5, 2013 at 6:41 PM

Remarkable. Why is it so high?

morganfrost on November 5, 2013 at 8:17 PM

If Obama had Bush’s press he’d be in the 20′s. I don’t know how any President can get away with lying like he has. BUsh didn’t even lie and he took it on the chin. I’m not sure where this goes, but I don’t see any Democrats up in arms about his lies. When are they going to be held accountable?

bflat879 on November 5, 2013 at 11:06 PM

bflat879 on November 5, 2013 at 11:06 PM

He has his press and he’s in the 30s before Bush ever got there.

As we say in Boston Red Sox Country, Cowboy Up!

Del Dolemonte on November 6, 2013 at 12:22 AM

This means that he is supported by less than 30% of whites… Hence the increase craziness of the white liberals… They look around them and they find that more than 70% of whites are against Obama and against their stupid socialism… To win elections they have to depend more and more on the people who they do not want to be anywhere near them… The irony of white liberalism…

Then would somebody please explain New York to me?

98ZJUSMC on November 6, 2013 at 1:55 AM

Whoever wrote this article has been listening to the Thug in Chief Obama and his lies too long. If he was at 1%, it would be too high.

tmgrant on November 6, 2013 at 6:39 AM

Does B.O. know how to lie in Spanish?

JackM on November 6, 2013 at 6:52 AM

Too late for america.
The marxist elite will continue the lies and the regime controls most media through intimidation. The peons will continue to follow in line and the nation will go where others have gone before. Seek greener pastures if you can.
