Obama: Imagine if workers could shut down a manufacturing plant just because they didn’t get what they want

posted at 12:41 pm on October 3, 2013 by Allahpundit

Via Charles Cooke. Imagine it. Imagine a movement so selfish that it would sabotage the operations of a venture on which vast numbers of people depend simply to gain leverage for its own agenda. Then imagine that that movement grew in numbers to the point where it could elect its own bought-and-paid-for politicians to do its bidding. Who knows how much havoc it could wreak? When you think about it, Democrats are right: It really is a sort of terrorism.

Am I awake?

How about this compromise dope…we’ll agree to fund the Government with a clean C.R. for a year, and you sign a bill outlawing workers who “decide not to do their job one day because they want something”.

Classic projection.

Liberals truly are demented; time for institutionalization – for the sake of society and the children, of course. Liberals are simply too dangerous to themselves and the rest of us to allow them to roam freely among the sane citizens of the country.

Yeah, I’m not much kidding anymore at this point.

Now if only the GOP can stand firm…

Unfortunately, the GOP Establishment that has become more addicted to Govt. than even Democrats are coming unhinged too… They are attacking conservatives with a ferocity never exhibited against Democrats.

One – the House did its job; they sent bill after bill to the Senate. In fact, without any negotiating from the Senate, the House continued to give concession after concession. But the Senate would not budge on changing the ACA. Why not? Because they had decided that the President has the power to change the ACA at will, so there was still no need to include any input from Republicans.

Two – since when was the job of the President to go around the country giving speeches? I don’t recall his oath of office to include any lines about being a motivational speaker. Anyone with a functioning brain cell knows who it is that isn’t doing his job.

kenro85 on October 3, 2013 at 1:56 PM

aaahhhh…didn’t the unions sink the Hostess ship. They would rather the company go bankrupt rather give any concessions. And the unions helped the local government make Detroit the rust belt and ghost town it is today.

Still, on the “WTF” scale, this is nowhere near what Harry said yesterday. That ranks as the single dumbest thing I’ve heard a politician say in the last 20 years at least. Even if he didn’t mean it the way it came out, it doesn’t matter. GOPers lose their careers for things not 1/10th as bad as that, even when they clearly just made a poor word choice.

The part of today’s CBS poll that the media, and not even CBS, are reporting is that a full 76% of Americans want President Obama to negotiate — which is something he refuses to do. That makes his position a growing liability and no better than that of Republicans.
