Never fear, Anthony Weiner: “The rent is too damn high!”-guy is here for you

Just in case you thought the New York City mayoral race couldn’t get any kookier, Weiner’s recalcitrance is bound to be buoyed from a finally encouraging voice urging him to actually do something other than drop out of the race in disgrace. He’s been complaining that he’d really like to get back to discussing the real, serious issues confronted by New Yorkers, if you don’t mind, and who better to help him do that than the guy who’s entire political platform consists of further installing one of the most visibly devastating and fundamentally flawed economic policies ever to plague major cities?

Politicker snagged a follow-up with Mr. McMillan (…follow the link for more of the interview at your own risk, blergh):
“I told him don’t quit,” Mr. McMillan told Politicker in an interview. “We didn’t talk about politics, I just told him clearly, ‘You do not quit. You can’t stand the heat in the kitchen, you shouldn’t have got in this race.’”
Mr. McMillan said he and the former congressman “met accidentally in a restaurant in Harlem called IHOP.” The brief breakfast that the two pols shared was enough to convince Mr. McMillan that Mr. Weiner was the right candidate to win the Democratic primary. …
“We all are freaky. He just exposed his freaky-ism in the wrong way,” Mr. McMillan said of Mr. Weiner’s sexually explicit photos. “I think Anthony needs someone like me to tell him, ‘Don’t be afraid to go get help if you need it.’” …
