Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

posted at 8:01 am on July 28, 2013 by Allahpundit

If you’re eager for White House talking points on why more debt and more ObamaCare are just what the middle class needs, great news: Treasury secretary Jack Lew is a guest on no fewer than four shows this morning to make case. If, on the other hand, you’d rather chew glass than listen to that, stick with “Meet the Press” for a point-counterpoint between House Intel Committee chair Mike Rogers and Justin Amash, who sponsored the “defund the NSA” amendment that nearly passed the House this week. Keep an eye on whether David Gregory treats this as purely a Republican civil war or whether he deigns to mention that it was Nancy Pelosi, not Rogers, whose influence saved the day for the NSA.

In case you stumble across a Lew segment and need an antidote, Mike Lee will be on “Fox News Sunday” to explain why the time is right for a budget measure defunding ObamaCare whether Democrats agree to it or not. The full line-up is at Politico.

Pathetic the Supreme Court and the Congress have their hands tied and are unable to stop the Muslim in Chief. Who’s running this Country anyway?

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/07/breaking-us-benghazi-hero-waited-20-hours-for-help-with-a-shredded-leg-while-obama-campaigned-in-las-vegas/

It was new to me that there was someone else on the roof at Benghazi with Woods and Doherty when they were ambushed by a mortar.
His name was David Ubben a security aide for the late Ambassador Stevens. His leg was reportedly “shredded” and he had to wait 20 hours for medical attention.
He has been recovering at Walter Reed ever since and you can bet the regime has already got to him big time and threatened him(and probably his family) with who knows what if he ever tells the truth.

There are people who would sacrifice their first born to volcano gods to have some sit down time with David Gregory on MTP.

Fifty-fifty chance it was a RINO who delivered the message. “We don’t want to rock the boat, and what difference does it make now, anyway?

Once you find yourself “inside the Beltway”, the laws of the real universe no longer apply. There up is down, wrong is right, and The One is the Creator Of The Universe. If He is displeased, The World Ends.

It would not surprise me that at least half of our “leaders”, in private, are bugging their eyes out, rotating them in opposite directions, making “NUHNUHNUHNUHNUHNUHNUGHNUHNUHNUH!!!” noises in the backs of the throats in a weird falsetto- and experiencing an “O” in doing so.

The rest of their behavior is sufficiently inexplicable in terms of what the Red Army used to call “objective conditions” to strongly indicate serious mental imbalance, if not outright brain damage.

It’s just unfortunate for us that while our leaders are indulging in megalomania and schizophreniform disorders (and apparently enjoying themselves immensely in doing so), our adversaries are more prosaically settling for mass cult-induced folie de tous typified by homicidal psychosis.

“But we can’t be a threat to you! We believe in little pink and blue butterflies and the divinity of The One!”

Ubben was there when it all went down with Doherty and Woods. He was injured by the same mortar that killed them and he knows whether or not help could have and should have been called.
The tragedy is that many of us are just finding out about his existence now.
By now the regime’s hit men have gotten to him big time and he will be so afraid of saying a word for fear he will be breitbarted/hastingized or worse yet. The regime will just terrorize his relatives and loved ones.We seldom realize who we are really dealing with. We have a regime that cares less if they double the number in their dead pool.
If we had gotten to him immediately we might have gotten some mileage. By now I seriously doubt it.
Our best hope is that talk radio will pick up on this and run with it.

rodguy911 on July 28, 2013 at 9:19 AM

Nancy Pelosi, not Rogers, whose influence saved the day for the NSA.

Then she wrote a letter to the president saying the programs “could use some refinements.” What did Boehner do? Nothing that I’ve read. The guy needs to get in front on these things, not trail behind. Problem is, he thinks our rights are secure and the programs “keep us safe.”

Justin Amash has more than a passing resemblance to a young Alan Grayson. Interestingly, they worked together to get Glenn Greenwald to testify before Congress this Wednesday.

NO NO NO NO NO ………

NAZI Grayson doesn’t have any seniority or authority to organize and call a “Congressional Hearing.” This is an ad hoc “focus group” put on by a faction of Representatives that is reminiscent of the unauthorized “hearing” organized for Sandra “College Slut” Fluke. Greenwald is not “testifiying” before Congress, he won’t even be there in person. It’s going to be video link for Greenwald. What does that tell you?

The Propaganda Press, hard at work blurring the lines between abdication of their First Amendment Rights, and open propaganda for The King.

Let’s have a gander:

“Meet the Press” on NBC
• Left
• Middle
• Right

“Face the Nation” on CBS
• Middle
• Left

“This Week” on ABC
• Left
• Middle
• Left
• Left

[Gold Star for Liberalism: A thorough examination of American political opinion, from the center to the left fringe. Terrific.]

“State of the Union” on CNN
• Left
• Left
• Middle

“Fox News Sunday” on Fox
• Left
• Right

“Newsmakers” on C-SPAN
“Political Capital” on Bloomberg TV
“Al Punto” on Univision

Ho hum. Another Sunday where Fox looks at both sides of the chasm, and is joined by only one other operation, in this case NBC. Don’t be fooled — as Allah predicts, libwit Gregory will go to great lengths to make this about Republican division and strife. Or something.

Jaibones on July 28, 2013 at 10:11 AM

Rodguy911:

The Diplomatic Security Service was not able, hours after the fight began, to save the lives of Dougherty and Woods or to bring medical help to Ubben.

But don’t worry. They’re on the job when it comes to the really important emergencies:

Kerry praised the State Department Diplomatic Security Service members who first responded when his wife fell ill. Heinz Kerry was treated at a Nantucket hospital and another in Boston before ultimately being discharged from Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. – See more at: http://bostonherald.com/news_opinion/local_coverage/2013/07/teresa_heinz_kerry_leaves_boston_rehab_hospital#sthash.ZX0vxvBW.dpuf

Nantucket, yes. Benghazi, not so much.

Kerry has mentioned visiting an injured Benghazi survivor fairly recently in Walter reed hospital. This was very likely Ubben.

Jack Lew on FoxNews Sunday, saying over and over again that in 2011 Congress tried to use “default” as an option. Over and over again he said “default”. But the only ones talking about “default” at that time were the Democrats and Obama. The Republicans NEVER considered defaulting on our interest payments. It was Obama who was on record years ago, with his s***-eating grin, that if he had to choose between paying interest on the debt (to China, he said), and sending out Social Security checks, which do you think he would do? (Default, of course)

Then Lew was asked about the Keystone Pipeline. He said Republicans have caused the approval to be postponed by playing politics. He said that!

Now he’s saying in the IRS scandal, it was an “equal opportunity” targeting of liberal and conservative groups.

He’s just lying, over and over again!

I find the media reporting on this worse than substandard. They are aiding and abetting a lie. No one spends close to a month in a rehab hospital because they had one seizure. Granted, the woman deserves her privacy, but these are the same people who crawled up Palin’s womb.
