Jake Tapper to Spitzer: You’re kind of a sleazy privileged hypocrite, don’t you think?

posted at 8:41 pm on July 18, 2013 by Allahpundit

I’m paraphrasing very loosely in the headline, but watch the clip. Tell me if it’s not a fair takeaway. And to think, Spitz is a CNN alum. Yowza.

This isn’t the newsiest thing you’ll watch today but it’s probably the most enjoyable. By the way, contra that eye-popping Quinnipiac poll from last week showing Client Number Nine’s favorables well into positive territory, a new NYT/Siena poll yesterday had him at a flaccid 28/35. That’s the bad news for Spitzer fans. The good news is that he’s still significantly more popular than Anthony Weiner, who checks in at a dismal 22/37. Weiner was also far less popular in the Quinnipiac poll, which continues to amaze me. Is that a simple function of more time having passed since Spitzer’s scandal or is the public really making a moral judgment that a guy tweeting nude pics of himself is worse than a guy breaking a law that he himself signed in order to have sex with prostitutes? Weiner’s supposed to be the better retail politician between the two of them. In that case, why is Spitz more popular (or less unpopular)?

Too bad he’s on a network nobody watches.

Well… the interview was tough. Now that’s behind him. By tomorrow, that will be old news. He can get on with being a sleazy politician again.

New York shows what a lost cause it is when 2 degenerates like these can get any electoral traction at all.

Anyone here know why we can’t link to cnsnews.com ?

Yea, but they’re the smart ones. Above us all.

These people, pervert Weiner and this Spitzer, have demonstrated beyond any doubt that they’re not worthy of the public trust. But apparently they don’t know how to do anything else. And Spitzer spent $10,000 on a single prostitute. 10k. Insane to do that illegal act in the first place when you’re married and governor, but also to spend that much for that “service” is just completely crazy and reckless. Now he wants to be the comptroller (chief fiscal officer) of NY. I guess NY will deem that this “frugal” “the buck stops here” type is what they need to take charge of their finances.

Jake Tapper to Spitzer: You’re kind of a sleazy privileged hypocrite, don’t you think?

…and I think he’s suffering from some social disease…

Spitzer: “A five-year stretch…”

But not a prison stretch.

That’s for the little people.

Jake I’ll fix it for you….

You’re kind of a sleazy privileged hypocrite discredited member of the media, don’t you think?

Stone meet glass house.

Pot meet black kettle.

Looks like Jake might be on to a story about the perv having been to hookers SINCE 2008. He asked him TWICE if he had, and seemed really, really interested in that line of questioning. There is no way in hell this reprobate has stopped paying for it (God knows he isn’t getting anything from the wife he used as a PR prop). Something is about to drop…

Anyone with access to the NSA ‘metadata’ (doesn’t require a warrant) could easily see who he’s called, and what websites he’s visited, in the last 5 years.

Spitzer: “The public is forgiving. That is a remarkably affirmative quality of the American public.”

That’s one way of putting it, suckahs.

You might call this a “tapper” interview, all the way around.

Yep, it’s his nature. Check with all the madams in NYC, grease a few palms and you’ll find him.

slickwillie2001 on July 18, 2013 at 9:53 PM

Jake Tapper has some cojones! Spitzer is giving him the death glare.

cynccook on July 18, 2013 at 9:56 PM

LOL According to him, his big punishment was having to resign. Niiiiiice.

cynccook on July 18, 2013 at 10:05 PM

I like Jake. If CNN could hire a few more journalists who actually practice fair journalism by holding all sides of political spectrum accountable, I think CNN could revive its ratings.

jediwebdude on July 18, 2013 at 10:21 PM

Now that was funny. Something tells me Spitzer must have done something to piss Jake off. That seemed personal.

Anyone know what Ashley Dupré is up to these days?

New York City boast “OUR CURRENT MAYOR IS THE LESS SLEAZY OF ALL THOSE WHO RAN FOR THE OFFICE!”

GarandFan on July 18, 2013 at 11:05 PM

Wasn’t Spitzer that guy in The Storm of the Century who kept asking the townsfolk just to give him what he wanted and he’d leave them alone?

Sherman1864 on July 18, 2013 at 11:31 PM

These two remind me of the Kennedy brothers; it sure makes a person think about the process of covering for politicians.

Another Joe…I suspect the sleaze paid only $100 for the sex. The other $9900 was for her to keep quiet.
