“Mass demonstration” at Ft. Meade supporting Manning

posted at 1:01 pm on May 18, 2013 by Jazz Shaw

So what have you got planned for June 1st? Given the time of year, some of you may be thinking of vacation, fishing, or possibly just grilling some burgers and enjoying the approach of summer. But if you don’t have anything else planned, you might want to hop on a bus and head to Ft. Meade in Maryland for what is being billed as a “mass rally” in support of Bradley Manning, currently preparing to finally begin his official court martial.

The “support network” for the accused traitor describes it as follows:

June 1st is the International Day of Action to Support Bradley Manning. Join us at Fort Meade on the eve of Bradley’s court martial. Solidarity actions are welcome at bases, recruiting centers and US embassies worldwide. We ask that Veterans for Peace join us in cosponsoring these historic events.

When something really catches the public’s attention and drives them out into the streets it can, and frequently does, happen in a very organic, natural fashion. A few items in the local paper or on television can move people to action to make their voices heard. So how will folks be flocking to this event in support of Manning?

Get on the Bradley Manning bus! Click here for information for buses from Baltimore, Washington DC, New York City, Willimantic CT, New Brunswick NJ, Philadelphia PA.

LEARN MORE ABOUT GETTING THERE: DRIVING INFORMATION, PUBLIC TRANSPORT, LODGING INFORMATION.

If you’re having to bus people in from the entire northeast to build a show of support, that might tell you something. For the rest of you out there, the court martial kicks off on June 3. Expect more coverage from Hot Air as events proceed forward.

A whistleblower is someone who has not signed an agreement not to divulge classified information. Members of the armed forces who have a security clearance sign an agreement not to divulge classified information. The agreement stipulates the possible punishment for divulging such information.

WordsMatter on May 18, 2013 at 1:22 PM

There is a huge difference between a “whistleblower” and a TRAITOR.

Bradley is a traitor and couldn’t give a rip what his sexual preference is.

He betrayed my country and put our Brightest and Best in harm’s way.

Unlike in civil court, his motives don’t matter. All that matters is that the elements of proof listed with the charge, in the UCMJ, are proved to the satisfaction of the board. Normally, a soldier is not referred to court martial unless are the elements of proof are to the satisfaction of the charging officer. Being an enlisted man, non-commissioned officers should make up one-third of the board, which under these circumstances should be his death knell.

Manning has turned into a dogwhistleblower, maybe. But there was no illegal action in any of the twenty thousand pieces of classified information he leaked upon which to blow a whistle. There was no fraud, waste or abuse. There was no conspiracy. ‘Leaking’ is not ‘whistleblowing.’

There WAS the legitimate business of government on his Lady Gaga-labeled CD-RW. Just because liberals celebrate illegal actions does not make them any less illegal.

G.I.s who routinely work with classified truly hate Manning.

Since his discovery, the procedures for handling the type of classified he compromised became a lot more arduous and just adds misery to the already complicated lives of those G.I.s

It might seem like a small thing but to those who work with classified info now have another two to fifty security protocols that didn’t exist before him.

I worked on highly classified projects for almost 30 years.

Just as that POS Walker made my life a hell of a lot more complicated for processing certain classified documents Manning’s disclosure made the lives of those current batch of G.I.s working with classified all that much more difficult. For that alone I hope he rots in Leavenworth, and trust me, Leavenworth’s more Hell than Hell!!

The military only works that way in your simple little minds. Mil loves a victim card just as much as everyone else in the US.

Yeppers, poor Breanna Manning.. Couldn’t bring his boyfriend to the military ball because of the homophobic days of DADT and had to hide his cross-dressing ways…

Wait, conservatives support whistleblowers I thought.

Thanks for pointing out conservative hypocrisy.

What illegal anti-American activity did Manning expose? I was only aware of leaks of classified information possibly resulting in the death of American allies. How was this whistle blowing?

‘Whistleblowing’ clearly means something entirely different in the gay community.

It takes a dump on this thread and then runs off. Typical loser.

The crowd will undoubtedly look something like this …

… But, we should expect lots of GIANT dancing vag*nas and plenty of pink glitter and rainbow flags.
