Video: Michigan not much better at policing abortion mills than Pennsylvania

Besides the actions of the defendants in the Kermit Gosnell house-of-horrors abortion clinic in Philadelphia, the original grand jury expressed outrage in their 2011 report over the lack of intervention by the city and state of Pennsylvania to stop Gosnell’s operation.  The refusal to address numerous reports and complaints over a years-long period was “by design,” the grand jury emphasized, as the political and regulatory establishments chose to protect abortionists rather than the women they maimed and the children they killed.

Pennsylvania isn’t the only state with designs to protect abortionists, either.  Earlier this week, Michigan Live and WOOD TV exposed the cronyism and official neglect that allowed a now-defunct abortion clinic to operate while owned by a convicted felon and piling up complaint after complaint:

Michigan lawmakers say that an alleged conflict of interest on the state Board of Medicine allowed a Muskegon doctor, who served time in prison and whose abortion clinic recently closed due to unsanitary conditions, to continue performing abortions despite complaints of “horrendous” misconduct.

The state’s system for regulating and licensing doctors is broken and in need of legislative reform, according to Republican and Democratic senators who held a committee hearing about the issue on Tuesday.

MLive and The Muskegon Chronicle reported that Dr. Robert Alexander’s abortion clinic was closed in December after police discovered “filthy” and unsanitary conditions throughout the Muskegon clinic, including “blood on the floor and walls in multiple locations.”

In February, WOOD TV 8 reported that the Michigan Board of Medicine received a complaint in 2009 about botched abortions, including one that allegedly ruptured a woman’s uterus, but the board did not investigate it.

The board chairman at the time, Dr. George Shade Jr., determined that no investigation was necessary. WOOD TV 8 reported that Shade served as a mentor to Alexander and helped him get his license back in the 1990s after serving in prison for selling illegal prescriptions.

So … how many Gosnells and Alexanders are operating even today in Pennsylvania and Michigan?  Or Minnesota? Or New York? Or …

Why, how can this be? We were told that Gosnell was just an “aberration”. You mean there are many such abertations? Seems more like a pattern than aberration.

How can this not be the case? These are medical procedures in which one of the subjects of the procedure dies — every time. How can America not understand the horror happening here?

piling up complaint after complaint

A little antiseptic for me. Not an unsafe lighting fixture, or an ant infestation. Rather, women being hacked on.

1. Filthy and unsafe conditions.

2. The woman’s OBGYN filed the complaint, alleging the failed abortion performed on (her) could have killed her.

3. 2nd complaint. A woman’s uterus was ruptured.

4. Evidence of a third nightmare, not part of a formal complaint. A woman received an abortion, then delivered a stillborn baby missing its skull, brain, and other body parts.

. . . etc.

i think the lesson is that, despite the Pom Pom prezy and his Planed Parenthood shills and the libertine leftist press, that in the end abortion is still not a widely accepted practice within medicine.

I.e., the people who practice this tend to be marginal ‘docs’, hacking away inside a woman’s body.

Obviously, this level of mal-practice is rarely found in other surgeries. There are nice, clean, out-patient surgery centers throughout the land…it is really not hard if you are a good Dr….but no doubt, a lot of real docs don’t like the procedure.

barry hates Docs and thinks they are all lazy hacks. Maybe abortion mills are his only friends and so, being simple minded, generalizes this savage hackery to all docs.

The thing that gets me is that this guy is probably making money hand over fist and he can’t even keep the place clean? It speaks volumes about how insulated he felt he was from any repercussions from the state, city or his peers.

Authorities found $250,000 in cash when they searched Gosnell’s home. He’s hardly the only one.

I read that. I wonder what this jewel’s bank account/stash looked like? Do you think various cities are scrambling to see if they have any “clinics” with numerous complaints that they have ignored? Or are they all low info voters that are clueless because they depend on the big 3 for their info. I guess they will wake up when the lawsuits start rolling in.

Ed, you know as well as I do that in Minnesota, dayton vetoed a law last year that would have required inspections and standards commensurate with other out patient surgery centers. From time to time, ambulances have been to the big abortuary in St Paul…It is a well know fact that the abortionist often covers up with other doctors the real reason for the patients problems…it could never be the fact that they screwed up could it….abortion is a lie, propagated by liars taking advantage of a desperate woman in a desperate situation…..

Work with me here. I know this is tin foil hat territory but I’m beginning to suspect that a pattern is emerging here. Could it be that despite being illegal most everywhere our government decided to look the other way as these vultures killed children viable out of the womb?

There isn’t a bit of difference between Adam Lanza and Kermitt Gosnell except that Lanza was more efficient.

Republicans need to hammer this in state houses across the country. The time is now to push and push and push to get these butcheries inspected and shut down.

I don’t think it is tin foil hat at all. THe Fox special on Gosnell said that when Tom Ridge was governor he refused to inspect these clinics because they knew they would have to close them due to violations. Ridge being a pro-choice Republican..

Gosnell wasn’t even a board certified ob-gyn. He never made it through residency, but Pennsylvania didn’t care. In the 1990′s, he was giving women STDS by reusing instruments that weren’t sterilized. Even Republicans like Ridge looked the other way. It appears that abortion is a big business and business is good..

If the financial figures that I have seen are correct, his clinic raked in more money in a few days than most docs make in a month.

Every med student knows that the easiest money you can make in medicine is by running an abortion clinic. Five hundred bucks for a few minutes work.

isn’t it kind of ironic that using an MD degree to kill little people pays better than using it to save lives?
