Great news: At least one Tsarnaev pal arrested today was here illegally

posted at 2:41 pm on May 1, 2013 by Allahpundit

Proof of innocent intent in disposing of Tsarnaev’s “materials”? Just think: This guy was months away from being amnestized by Schumer/McCain/Rubio, and now he’s gone and thrown it all away.

Expect Lindsey Graham to be on TV within the hour arguing simultaneously that (1) no one should use this new revelation to politicize the new immigration bill and (2) this revelation proves that the new immigration bill is urgently needed.

A U.S. government official tells CNN that the three students in law enforcement custody Wednesday are two students from Kazakhstan, Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, and another student, a U.S. citizen. The official says that their case reveals more holes in information sharing

It wasn’t until the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement division heard about the interviews later on Saturday that they realized Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov were not currently of legal immigration status, and ICE officials went to pick them up and detain them.

The first US government official told CNN that at an immigration court hearing this morning, the court learned that Tazhayakov returned to Kazakhstan in December 2012, and his status with U. Mass-Dartmouth was terminated on January 3. Yet somehow he was allowed to return into the U.S. on January 20.

“They shouldn’t have let him in,” the first official told CNN. “Bells should have gone off.”

All we need now is an accounting of their welfare benefits and this’ll be wrapped up in a neat little bow. A key detail, though, per Tapper’s report: Supposedly Tsarnaev asked them to dump the “materials” before his and Tamerlan’s names were released to the public as the prime suspects (but after the photos of them at the marathon had been published). The feds must have something suggesting that they knew they were disposing of criminal evidence, but it’s not clear what that is. One of the things they’ve been looking for at the landfill, allegedly, is Dzhokhar’s PC; maybe they’re inferring that there’s really no innocent explanation for doing a friend a solid when he asks you to throw his computer in the trash right away and no, he won’t be around for awhile to do it himself. Or, maybe, Dzhokhar gave up all of these guys in return for leniency at sentencing. That’s smart, if so. According to a new WaPo poll, fully 70 percent of the public, including a majority of Democrats, wants him to get the needle.

Update: Well, that explains it:

This is interesting too:

Update: Here’s the full complaint. Enjoy the pen, boys. Key bit:

When there are millions here illegally from Mexico, who we celebrate as finding a better life for themselves, of doing the work we won’t do, of having a good work ethic, and now want to give a “path to citizenship” which means they ALL stay here and never leave …

When the rule of immigration law is flouted at every turn, then, what did anyone expect?

The Fool in Chief and Liar extraordinaire

Obama denied claims by some Republicans that the Boston Marathon bombings indicated an intelligence failure. He said investigators worked in “exemplary fashion” to track down the perpetrators of the attack and to determine what provoked two Russian-born brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, to detonate the two devices that killed three and injured nearly 300.

Dept of Homeland Security is some kind of combination of a Potemkin Village and kabuki theater. Weren’t ICE officials complaining bitterly recently that Obama was tying their hands? Couldn’t any illegal here simply invoke the DREAM act and be freed, without any checking on that allowed? Didn’t Gov. Brewer of AZ try desperately to control her southern border, thwarted by Obama at every turn? With the idea he knows better than she, and, I guess, that you need to be on her all the time because she doesn’t like brown people.

Was his visa was still active after being terminated by his university ?
If not, then is it SOP to allow foreigners with expired visas to enter USA ?
If yes, then why do we even give visas anymore ?
Is it common knowlwdge among jihadies and foreigners that they can enter USA , through our airports even if they don’t have a visa ?

What I’d like to find out is WHO in the US sponsored the jihady bunch for visas ? How were they supposed to support themselves financially since they couldn’t legally work here.

That’s a very good point. Even with legal immigration, do we really need to continue to grow so rapidly population wise?

Do we see landmarks of a continually swelling population a good thing?

In 1960 our national population was around 180 million. By 2000 it was around 280 million.

A review of their facebook pages reveals Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov had 1 American friend between them. Every name is, shall we say, “foreign sounding”.

I blame this in part on the “diversity” agenda of schools like UMass Dartmouth who intentionally Balkanize students according to ethnicity. They talk about how “inclusive” they are while heralding banquets for “people of color” which presumably do not “include” white people. This Bill Ayersian Social Justice crap is contributing mightily to negative thinking about America (which of course is compounded among Mosque attenders). If the alleged goal of inviting masses of foreign students to America’s schools is to learn about Americans and our culture and traditions it’s a dismal failure.

although everyone’s having massive heartburn over the reality of things, what’s another bacon burger ?

Listen to Robert Spencer explain the massive intelligence failure of the FBI.

Video # 1: in 2010 Robert was asked to speak at Ft. Knox (?) training session on Islam. However, CAIR etc. pressured the US to REMOVE the training materials provided by Spencer (and Stephen Couglin), and to RE-TRAIN those at the original training provider by Spencer.
- so the US is acquiescing to Islamic law to silence opposition against Islam.

video 2: the brother bombers have been linked to a 12-person sleeper cell, and as a result, 100 FBI agents were on the trail. But it doesn’t matter if it was 1,000 or 10,000 agents – they don’t know what they are looking for nor how to interpret any intelligence in light of the threat.
(notwithstanding the arrests today)

Schadenfreude

I still cannot understand why bloodhounds were not used. Obviously there was a blood scent to follow directly from his car to the boat.

“Bells should have gone off.”

I think bells are racist now.

Also, colleges do not keep track of their foreign students, even tho they promised to after 9/11. It was a big lie to give the government cover to keep the revenue from foreign tuition flowing.

Ineptitude, from top to bottom, with so much waste in all kinds of resources…and it continues.

Look at the bright side – at least they weren’t the illegals released because of the sequester.

We have a better count of the bottles of Mexican beer that come across the Mexican border than we do of the people who come across the Mexican border.

The complaint says the backpack and laptop were thrown out together but only the backpack was found at the landfill. Laptop is not mentioned again. Wonder what the status is on the search for the laptop and what the theories are about how the backpack and laptop got separated?

Right now Rubio is sucking down the contents of a gallon jug of Old Bunghole Whiskey and muttering, “I had it all lined up! And now this! My career is over!”

Bishop on May 1, 2013 at 2:53 PM

Do you really think Rubio even has that much of a clue?

He does not seem to be particularly perceptive.

On a related note – is the government of Massachusetts going to seek to recover the value of the welfare payments made to the terrorists and their family?

18-1 on May 1, 2013 at 2:58 PM

Recover it from whom? The terrorists? Their crooked family back in Chechnya? Or from the U.S. federal government, who invited these vermin into our country in the first place?

Before this is over, federal taxpayers will be on the hook for many millions more dollars — to pay for defense attorneys, expert witnesses, etc., for all the terrorists and their illegal alien friends/accomplices as their cases slowly wind their way through the U.S. judicial system. (Wonder what the tab for Major Hasan’s defense is up to now?)

But just remember folks, diversity is our greatest strength!
