Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

posted at 8:01 am on April 28, 2013 by Allahpundit

Syria and the Tsarnaevs: It’s an intelligence showcase for the Sunday shows this morning. House Intel Committee members Mike Rogers and Dutch Rupperberger will be on ABC, Senate Intel Committee member Saxby Chambliss will be on CBS, and Homeland Security Committee member Mike McCaul will hit Fox to explain why the FBI missed Tamerlan Tsarnaev and how sure they are that Assad’s been using chemical weapons. McCain will also be on, of course, getting the spotlight on “Meet the Press” to make the case for amnesty, intervening in Syria, and all sorts of other good ideas.

Politico has the full line-up.

McCain is a great example of what’s completely wrong with Washington.

Too bad the talking points won’t include the millions of businesses that are cutting full-time employees to part-time status in order to duck out of the Obama care noose.

There are also truck driver shortages, created by the bureaucrats, which have lead to price increases on consumer goods.

McCain wanting to ignore the laws of the U.S. when it comes to security, and practically in the same breath, want to impose our values and blood and money to side with people who hate us, and once strong enough, would turn on us and try to destroy us?
McCain..I voted for you. Now go away, you’re a rusty tool for an obsolete machine.
Go.Away.

Mimzey on April 28, 2013 at 8:22 AM

Of course there is going to be a bigger push for amnesty, before real truth of the Boston bombings comes out or people start asking tougher questions. McCain wants his legacy, something to match Kennedy’s, and he intends to have it.

McCain will also be on, of course, getting the spotlight on “Meet the Press” to make the case for amnesty, intervening in Syria, and all sorts of other good ideas.

In other words, McCain will again be on demanding amnesty for illegal aliens and implying if not calling anyone who isn’t “on board” with his demands a variety of condescending, inconsiderate slurs.

WHEN is McCain going away? Thanks for your military service years ago but, please, McCain, stop hurting the rest of us. And take Rubio and Graham wit’ ya’, just go away.

We won’t NEED another amnesty bill in the future, sooner or later. Because there won’t be any “immigration” laws, requirements or penalties for violating anything — and citizens will be mostly considered wrapping paper for the world’s people who’ve since moved here in (more) hoardes, taken up voting and have written their “new constitution” that includes free stuff for them and punishments for those old xenophobic citizen types.

For some reason, conservatives expected McCain, who has spent his entire life in federal service, and is the son and grandson of men who spent their whole lives in federal service, to be a small-government conservative. I have never understood why they feel betrayed by his continuing loyalty to federal governance.

PersonFromPorlock on April 28, 2013 at 9:06 AM

MTP has MN’s Ellison (Mr. Muslim) and Klobuchar on for what reason? Ellison’s an idiot, but I guess he’ll address how the US needs to reach out to Muslims landing on our shores–like the 19 who landed planes in odd locations on 9/11. I assume Klobuchar will be on to whine about repealing the medical-devices tax that she and Dems voted for and used to skew the Obamacare numbers.

But they won’t go away. They are true believers. They are like the Applewhite cult, they see the Mothership of the future coming in the haze of a star. Just put on your Nikes, drink some of theis, and get with the program.

What really sucks, is the fact that you will not hear a peep out of the GOP establishment. They won’t point out people like McCain et.al. for hypocrisy, but will not miss an opportunity to belittle or ignore anyone who actually promotes Conservative values. They share this trait with the progressive left.
Why is that?

Mimzey on April 28, 2013 at 9:16 AM

My view is on the Dem side, they hold strong Marxist values. For those like McCain, they like the power and seeing their faces on TV. Conservatism doesn’t allow for that, but liberalism does. With the RINOS, I think it’s more about personal power and self-aggrandizement than a political ideology.

The Mexican government rounded up 108 South American illegals in Mexico City yesterday on immigration charges, but calls us racist for wanting to secure our borders and McCain is none to eager to agree with them. Stop breathing, let your daughter sit on you and crush you, retire, just go away and if it’s toes up, it won’t be a sweeter day for conservatives and the rule of law.

If no one is talking about this, they should.

The entire media and most people, especially pundits on the right, are derelict.

The gov’t might have caused the FAA ‘crisis’ beyond just to “punish the people with the sequester, and the rightie congress”. They did it to get more, way more, dough for the FAA, in disguise for more propaganda and other world handouts such as this.

Travel is down 13 % in the last 2 years, down 26% since 9/11/01 and the FAA budget was already 40% higher bef. this ‘crisis’. Now the stupid congress, yes the Rs are all more stupid, gave them all they asked for and more. Lots of muzzie outreach and such is ironically paid through the ones that are supposed to do ‘security’ and direct traffic, modernize equipment…in some century down the line…

Canada’s FAA equivalent has been privatized since the 60s and they are one of the most modernized, technologically, well run, on budget and etc.

This land is driven into the ground more by the stupid Rs and the media than the tyrannical leftist destroyers. The former enable the latter and thus I hate them more.

Most are asleep at the switch.

Allah has outsourced his lineup to DNC site Politico. Allergic? Let me help.

There was no “outsourcing”…..he gets PAID by the DNC.

The worst thing about McCain is that not only has he poisioned other pubbies but probably Marco as well. He definitely qualifies as the enmy from within.

No, Rubio wanted to turn the country into El Salvador before he even knew McCain. We just didn’t know it until he took his seat in the Senate.

Aw, come on. It’s Sunday and he chose to link instead of type. I was just jazzing him. Allah is the best.

McCain won’t be around to see the Death of America hit witless push for Demographic Extinction will bring, so what does he care?

The beer labels can be printed in Spanish overnight.

I admire McCain’s service

But it’s time we have all of our young Republicans on tv…

Period. The old guard should leave the stage

Yes. But please stop the comments about service already. It is like the libs leading with race all the time. It is not too relevant when he just lead the conservatives to a POTUS defeat which, arguably, is killing good Americans.

How many of us have to die before we lose the MCcCain hero in discussion?

I was knocking the RNC earlier but you have to see their position. Reince has to play the cards he has been dealt and carping about the post mortem or is candidates puts the blame in the wrong place.
As far as the media and John McCain, the closest cultural thing I have seen in the western world was the Victorians keeping dead bodies around and even having minor social events with them.

I wish Fox would see how creepy it is. Asking NBC or the rest to do so is like asking the Penn State child molester to read Dr. Spock and get better with kids.

I asked an expert for a theory on why COMCAST allows MSNBC to fester.

Apparently they have LONG term projections for the base demographic to grow and grow and grow and grow..like those garden hoses on the commercials except much slower.

Just look at all the kids in college today!

Its 2013 and I don’t give a crap about McCains service over 40 years ago

I care about what he is doing to us now

I watch about one Sunday “news” show a year these days.

Besides crashing several multimillion $ planes and causing a serious carrier explosion and fire, what exactly was admirable about McLames’s “service”? (outside of his ability to annoy his captors and take a beating at the Hanoi Hilton)
