Chechen president: ‘Seek the roots of this evil in America,’ where Tsnarnaevs were raised

posted at 1:13 pm on April 19, 2013 by Mary Katharine Ham

The statement of Ramzan Kadyrov, Kremlin-backed president of Chechenya, blames the Tsarnaevs’ American upbringing for their actions and criticizes law enforcement for killing Tamerlan Tsarnaev in a shootout Thursday night:

“Tragic events have taken place in Boston. A terrorist attack killed people. We have already expressed our condolences to the people of the city and to the American people. Today, the media reports, one Tsarnaev was killed as [police] tried to arrest him. It would be appropriate if he was detained and investigated, and the circumstances and the extent of his guilt determined. Apparently, the security services needed to calm down the society by any means necessary,” says Chechen president Ramzan Kadyrov.

“Any attempt to draw a connection between Chechnya and Tsarnaevs — if they are guilty — is futile. They were raised in the United States, and their attitudes and beliefs were formed there. It is necessary to seek the roots of this evil in America. The whole world must struggle against terrorism — that we know better than anyone else. We hope for the recovery of all the victims, and we mourn with the Americans.”

The statement was apparently released on Instagram.

Update: Or, there were these influences. Dave Weigel reports on the muftis and other Islamic/Salafist leaders the bombers quoted.

Roots of evil? The only evil I see is Islam. But what can you expect from a religion founded by a mass murdering pedophile who commands his followers to kill the infidels until all is Islam.

Wolftech on April 19, 2013 at 1:56 PM

He’s right. Until the “Religion of Peace” is exposed for the death-worshiping cult that it is, this kind of radical, terrorist-inducing extremism will continue in the United States. As long as there are mosques preaching “Death to America” within our borders, no one is safe.

RoadRunner on April 19, 2013 at 1:57 PM

The Chechenyan president has a point. We do have an evil here. It’s called ‘liberalism’ under the guise of ‘tolerance’ (unless, of course, you’re conservative.. there’s no tolerance for THAT).

“Tolerance is a crime when it is applied to evil.”

The Chechen President’s insanity is only mildly trumped by the murderous Muslim brothers aunt, who is a total wackjob. “Where is the proof? I want proof they did this!” she just said to reporters. I guess throwing explosives from the getaway car isn’t sufficient proof for her.

CW on April 19, 2013 at 2:54 PM

The Chechan President is correct in his assertion. That evil is not hard to find, and I believe that it should be purged. That evil emigrated to our shores from the vast wasteland known as the Middle East, (with the exception of Israel.) It grew with each Mosque and Madrassa opened, and each violent felon converted in one of our many cesspools of such individuals known as our penal system. That is the source of evil that was used to turn these otherwise typical children into blood lusting agents of evil. Each and every Imam, Ayatollah, or other member of the Islamic Death Cult’s Clergy should be deported forth with, and their most fervent followers identified and sent along with them for good company, Chechans included.

Okay.

Which American mosque do you think radicalized them and turned them into barbaric mass murdering jihadists who put pressure cooker bombs filled with nails and ball bearings down next to 8 and 6 year old children, walk away, and then detonate them?

farsighted on April 19, 2013 at 3:21 PM

Says the criminal who sent 300 of his elite troops over the border into Ingushetia this morning to “teach people a lesson”. Chechnya should have been erased from the face of the Earth while ago. Too bad Clenis helped Muslim scourge, same as he did with Muslim scourge claiming land that did not belong to them in former Yugoslavia.

Kadyrov should be tried and sentenced, way too much blood on his hands.

‘Seek the roots of this evil in America,’

You know…

… I think he has a point.

“This history textbook by Howard Zinn is a very leftwing version of U.S. history, full of multicultural, feminist, and class-war propaganda. It is based on the thesis that America is not a republic but an empire controlled by a few white men. Its heroes are anti-establishment protestors. The book debunks traditional heroes, such as Christopher Columbus and Andrew Jackson, and doesn’t mention great Americans such as Thomas Edison.”

Dearbornistan is a suburb of Detroit. It’s near Detroit’s major airport.

James on April 19, 2013 at 5:53 PM

Chechen president: ‘Seek the roots of this evil in America

He isn’t all wrong. I was living in Dearborn through 911. The muslim population there is not assimilated. Some may dress western, and in one generation speak without accent, but the life is mosque centered and they dont break out, unless they shake the faith. The problem is American values are not muslim values. They can’t assimilate to ‘false’ values.

Dearborn is now 50 percent muslim, east Dearborn majority. The pressure is on to change the city to muslim values. Example: Christian missionaries banned from the arab street festival.

An atheist friend went to support the right of the minister who wanted to burn a koran to give a speech by Dearborn city hall. Among the muslims rushing the barricade were guys who ran the fast food at work. They told her at the mosque they learned the Jews paid the minister to insult islam, and he should not be allowed to speak. These guys spoke American, dressed hip. I knew them. But they were not American and their kids would be the same

IMHO they do not immigrate, they colonize. Tamerlan could not have American friends, because non muslim americans have antithetical values. Note Americans liked them. But they disliked what they saw in Americans. The isolation they had was not sociopathic, it was cultural

That America’s “leaders” (political, military, academic, scientific, religious, artistic, and intellectual) have failed to tell the truth about Islam’s malignant, intolerant dogmas and militant, imperialistic, totalitarian intent has proved an encouragement to such uncontrolled terrorist activity.

profitsbeard on April 20, 2013 at 2:33 AM

Not bad for a puppet installed by Putin. He has quite a future ahead of him in the CP if he can keep his head that long. Notice he never defined the root of evil in America, just tossed out a straw man, kinda like our dear leader does. He’s probably the one supporting the make-a-bomb camp for the teens in his country.

Kissmygrits on April 20, 2013 at 8:56 AM

He has a point, but it’s hard to ignore the family’s connections and history.

Even the dead terrorist was named for Tamerlane, who was technically a Muslim with quite a lust for slaughter:

Contemporary sources say that Timur’s forces killed about 19 million people during their conquests. That number is probably exaggerated, but Timur does seem to have enjoyed massacre for its own sake.

Even today, Chechnyan radicals have a reputation for special savagery, as witnessed in the massacre of children at Beslan.

Interestingly, the Russian government’s reaction was to kill every one of the terrorists. They did not mount a gun-control campaign.
