Video – Our troops thank the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders

posted at 2:01 pm on April 14, 2013 by Jazz Shaw

How much do you hate that song, “Call me maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen? Okay… that’s probably unfair. Maybe some of you like it, but I just found it instantly annoying for some reason. But if there was anything that could change my mind on the subject, this is probably it. I came across this video by way of a short article from Michael Walsh at PJ Media. It was actually released last November, but most of us were a little busy with, er… something else back then, so I missed it. And I thought that if I did, maybe some of you had as well.

Some of our troops in Afghanistan decided to say thank you to the cheerleaders of the Miami Dolphins for all of the “inspiration” they provided during last year’s football season. The ladies had made a video of themselves for the song in question, and our guys decided to respond in kind, pairing the two videos together. The troops perform the same type of dance routine as the cheerleaders, but instead of standing on bleachers, they’re on tanks. Instead of waving pompoms, they’ve got weapons. You get the idea.

As Walsh described it… “Sex! Guns! Girls!” and a video that is “certain to get the leftie’s panties in a puddle.” And if it didn’t happen by now, I say somebody needs to get these ladies on a plane and send them over to perform the bit with the troops in person.

Enjoy. And I’ll agree with Walsh on one other point… be sure to watch it in full screen.

Ok, I have to say I wish the gentleman had manned up their dance moves a touch.

Looks like the boys had a good time making the video. God bless each and every one of you and thank you for your sacrifices.

Love it! And I’m a huge Dolphins fan to boot!

Video – [blah blah blah] the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders

OK. I’m there.

Paul-Cincy on April 14, 2013 at 2:09 PM

*cough*

I would, er, like to thank the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders as well.

Axe on April 14, 2013 at 2:09 PM

There were troops in that video?!?!

vegconservative on April 14, 2013 at 2:10 PM

Oh my. That’s funny.

Paul-Cincy on April 14, 2013 at 2:12 PM

…gawd those guys were good…but why was my concentration always on the bottom right of the video?
….and hey!… where’s my pants?

KOOLAID2 on April 14, 2013 at 2:17 PM

somebody needs to get these ladies

ladies?

John the Libertarian on April 14, 2013 at 2:20 PM

Geez, I would have re upped had I gotten a video like that when I was in……God bless our troops….stay safe and keep your heads down

I think we’ve found the winner:

http://techcrunch.com/2013/03/31/youtube-announces-that-it-has-been-an-8-year-contest-will-shut-down-on-april-1-to-determine-the-winner/

Seriously, GREAT video. If you watch it a third or fourth time you’ll see there are actually some guys on the upper left corner of the screen. But you might miss them the first few times.

SoRight on April 14, 2013 at 2:24 PM

As a lifelong Dol-fan (Csonka [39] #1!), thank you cheerleaders!

Kingfisher on April 14, 2013 at 2:29 PM

I had already seen the troops’ version but had not seen them merged, so… Good Job!

Tight 20-something buns (old lady here… yes, I looked: ) and MD Cheerleaders aside… do we take American Ingenuity so for granted that nobody noticed the ‘swimmin hole’ in the middle of the desert? Pond liner and water trucks… yeah! There’s an American farmer somewhere in country who thought of that… no doubt.

jffree1 on April 14, 2013 at 2:30 PM

There were troops in that video?!?!

vegconservative on April 14, 2013 at 2:10 PM

My thoughts exactly. Thanks for the summary Jazz, because I didn’t catch any of the troops’ dance moves.

Donald Draper on April 14, 2013 at 2:33 PM

Okay, that was awesome, lol.

God bless, guys and gals.

Midas on April 14, 2013 at 2:39 PM

One thing’s for certain…none of the ladies in that video were radical feminists.

Kingfisher on April 14, 2013 at 2:40 PM

If you watch it a third or fourth time you’ll see there are actually some guys on the upper left corner of the screen. But you might miss them the first few times.

I’m on round 15 and, for some unexplainable mysterious reason, I’m unable to gravitate my eyes toward the top left corner of the screen. :-)

I am sure Jazz (and the rest of us for him) are simply horrified that this isn’t the latest and greatest. I can’t speak for anyone else but I may not be able to sleep tonight for the shame.

NavyMustang on April 14, 2013 at 2:55 PM

Ok watched it on full screen but did not see any men in the video.

Grunt on April 14, 2013 at 2:56 PM

I admit this was the first time I had seen it and I just have one thing to say; Most Excellent!

I wonder how many takes it took the boys to make this? It sure looked like they had fun making it. I wonder what the Dolphin Cheerleaders had to say upon seeing this? What ever it was I’m sure they appreciated the effort it took.

Now I’m wondering if anyone called anybody IFKWIMAISTYD.

jffree1 on April 14, 2013 at 2:30 PM

Most US bases in the desert (Qatar, UAE, Afghanistan, etc) have those ‘ponds’/reservoirs serving as swimming pools, in many places they had civilian engineers building real ones…the Al Dhafra AFB (in UAE) for instance has two side by side real swimming pools complete with a large deck…

I first saw the version with just the soldiers. I must say that now that the Dolphins cheerleaders are in it, it adds a bit more context … but my eyes were still on the guys the whole time. :) Most excellent job by our troops!

Had no idea… that such amenities were commonplace in hostile locations but I’m not really that surprised… knowing how innovative the military can be.

My son was in Iraq and he never shared that particular detail. He did say he organized a guitar hero competition on weekends for several months, though, so I did know they had some time for recreation.

Some months back, Hannity had Rubio and his wife on a Saturday show. She’s a nice house, but nobody seems home.

She’s got a great deal of work to do because she’s definitely not ready for national prime time.

That one is great but I have to give the top one to our sister unit over here from last year which you will find here:

Brings back great memories. Anywhere that I have been in the world, there were always those back “in the world” that would support us and then the ingenuity of the GI would kick in. Thanks to the Dolphin Girls for being there for our troops and thanks to the the troops for reciprocating with the usual GI thanks and humor. I really do miss the military[although there are those that say since I was Air Force, I was not ever in the military] Love the interservice rivalry.
