Dr. Ben Carson: White liberals are the most racist people out there

posted at 5:21 pm on April 2, 2013 by Allahpundit

Via Mediaite and MFP. Between his prayer-breakfast speech, his gay-marriage comments and now this, I wonder how long it’ll be before left-leaning teachers start dropping his story Black History from lesson plans. How does being a world-renowned neurosurgeon qualify you to be a role model when you’re on The Wrong Side of History?

Two clips here, one from last night’s Mark Levin show and the other from NRO of Leo Terrell throwing one of his trademark tantrums at Hannity for “creating a monster” in Ben Carson. For further reading, try this characteristically interesting piece by John McWhorter, who knows how it feels to be sneered at as a black conservative even though he’s a self-described “contrarian Democrat.” McWhorter’s progressive sin is acknowledging that racism isn’t as bad as it used to be; because it isn’t, he argues, people need to cut fellow contrarians like Carson, whose politics might be “unhelpful” to the cause, some slack. After this interview I’m thinking that’s … unlikely.

as they were back in 1864-1865,……

It’s among the confused middle-class warriors for welfarism. They have failed, and failed miserably, to reckon with one of the iron laws of modern politics – which is that the more reliant you are on the welfare state, the more experience you have of it and the less you love it. And by extension, the further removed you are from the welfare state, the less experience you have of it, the more you can fantasise about its virtues and grow to love it. Or at least their imaginary versions of it.

Exactly. Lester doesn’t even understand what the fuss is about babies born from botched abortions. Saying that a baby born of a botched abortion IS a human being, a full citizen, and entitled to each and every right Lester, himself, enjoys is evidence of “religiously-driven nuttery.”

What’s religion got to do with it? Murder is a crime and a child separate from its mum’s body is a full-human being. Even if one supports abortion (I don’t), the woman’s “right to choose” was “terminated” the moment that child separated from her body. Such is based upon the law, not religion.

Lester’s reasoning can be found on prominent display in Dred Scott.

You make my arguments better than I do! I appreciate it. I’m not trying to change your mind, far from it. I completely agree that the GOP is totally sunk. I’m not implying that you’re afraid, I just asked what you’re afraid of. I mean in a general sense. Like you seriously fear nothing?

I fear plenty of things. I fear for the country due to one party rule. I think that’s probably going to be a problem. I fear that we can’t actually do anything about our entitlement programs that will run out of money. It is politically impossible to do anything about it. And I fear a culture where only one political party controls all levers of discussion about “race”.

The GOP just doesn’t understand how to talk about race. No matter how “un-xenophobic” I might think I am, I’m destined to be labeled as xenophobic and racist because I think it might be better for the government to be a bit more limited in its spending. But we can’t convince “minority” voters (or women, actually) about this because all they “hear” from us is, “get to the back of the bus, we’re gonna put y’all back in chains, and get in this binder.”

I really see no future in the GOP because of the “race” issue. It actually doesn’t matter if we joined the Dems on every “policy” idea in the world. We’d still lose because the Dems “won race”.

Also, which Progressive President screened “Birth of a Nation” at the White House and called the movie about the KKK “history shot with electricity.”

He also said:

“I do approve of the segregation that is being attempted in several of the departments. I think if you were here on the ground you would see, as I seem to see, that it is distinctly to the advantage of the colored people themselves that they should be organized, so far as possible and convenient, in district bureaus where they will center their work.”

And…

“Segregation is not humiliating but a benefit, and ought to be so regarded by you gentlemen.”

And…

“We want one class of persons to have a liberal education and we want another class of persons, a very much larger class of necessity in every society, to forgo the privilege of a liberal education and fit themselves to perform specific difficult manual tasks.”

And…

[Applauding the annexation of Puerto Rico and the Philippines, he said] “they are children and we are men in these deep matters of government and justice.”

And…

Said that his first recollection as a child was of hearing the “horrible” news that Abraham Lincoln had been elected President and would free the slaves.

Is it not true that this President is one of Progressives shining lights and is routinely cited as one of the best presidents in the history of the US by leftist intellectuals?

You probably should stop laughing long enough to go and do some research. The NRA was founded during Reconstruction and was in great part a direct response to the South’s attempt to disarm blacks.

“It is reported that in some parts of this State (South Carolina and throughout the South), armed parties are, without proper authority, engaged in seizing all fire-arms found in the hands of the freedmen. Such conduct is in clear and direct violation of their personal rights as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States, which declares that ‘the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.’”

And so now [hopefully] you realize just how idiotic white liberals are when they make those kinds of claims against the Tea Party when they support black Conseravatives. Now go lecture Chris Matthews on the stupidity of that “dog whistle” nonsense.

No kidding. If Obama wanted to be more “ordinary,” maybe he should have sank more than 2 baskets out of 22 or, hey, how’s this for an idea? Cut back on the lavish vacays and opt for camping trips like ordinary peeps or is that an idea that is, um, too “ordinary”?

Resist We Much on April 2, 2013 at 7:44 PM

The lesson here? White liberals don’t like being called “racist.” And yet, hypocritically, they are the first ones to accuse those who disagree with them of being “racist.” Pathetic white liberals need to stop being so race-obsessed. Until they do, they’re not worthy partners in an adult conversation. Foaming-at-the-mouth nutjobs like drunken Chris Matthews are not good role models, fyi.

“my only concern is small government” is balderdash and we all know it.

sesquipedalian on April 2, 2013 at 7:00 PM

Well, how about we do an experiment. Let’s actually try small government for once. If conservatives are still whining and complaining, maybe you’ll have a point about racial animus.

Until then, you’re just talking out your *** like usual.

Good Solid B-Plus on April 2, 2013 at 7:47 PM

I tend to agree on the white liberals. However, I would say black liberals are not much different. They voted for BARRY out of skin color most likely either way, making their views racist to start with.

TX-96 on April 2, 2013 at 7:48 PM

Good Solid B-Plus on April 2, 2013 at 7:48 PM

sesquipedalian on April 2, 2013 at 6:45 PM

Carson accomplishes more in ten minutes than you have in your entire life. You smear him solely because he’s a black conservative.

If he were white, you wouldn’t take the time to worry about him. If he were liberal, you’d lionize him.

Good Solid B-Plus on April 2, 2013 at 7:49 PM

Pro tip: the GOP should become as raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacist as those “white liberals”. Trust me, that’s what ethnic minorities are longing for.

1215 on April 2, 2013 at 7:34 PM

I didn’t ask you. But since the other troll left maybe you can help. Do you actually have a serious answer to what “ethnic minorities” are “longing for” from the GOP? I mean other than not burning crosses in their lawns, of course. Because that’s what we’re doing now (metaphorically of course. We don’t have Robert Byrd to do it for us anymore. Oh wait.)

What is the GOP is missing with the “race” issue? Because it seems like a really big deal and yet people that self-identify as “conservatives” and “libertarians” spend almost no time discussing this issue together outside of actual policy discussions that are tangentially related to race. There is really no discussion of “race” going on in the GOP.

Will those who you identify as “ethnic minorities” always overwhelming vote for the Democrat party? And if so, how can there be any future at all for the GOP, besides being a feeble and tiny opposition party?

sesquipedalian on April 2, 2013 at 7:00 PM

So wait:

Step 1: You get upset when conservatives make everything about race

Step 2: When conservatives claim they support small government, you say “bull****, you know it’s really about race”

Step 3: ???

Step 4: Profit. Or something.

Scuse me, I gotta go fix the engine on my roflcopter.

I dunno. The lesson I see is that they’re way better at the race-card than the GOP. You might not think they’re “worthy partners in an adult conversation” but their methods are winning them elections. I think it would be worth learning how to use the race-card if it meant we could save the Republic from insolvency.

A few weeks ago, a woman called into a radio show and told how Dr. Carson saved her young son’s life. At 5 he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. The parents took him to different hospitals and doctors and were told by all of them that their son was going to die. None of them wanted to take the risk involved with operating. Then, she went to Dr. Carson. He told them that he couldn’t guarantee anything other than he would do the best he could to remove the tumor and save her son. And he did just that. The little boy is now a man with a family of his own. That story can be told over and over again by people from around the world. Ben Carson often took the risk that others would not. He was the first surgeon to perform in-vitro neurosurgery and the first surgeon to separate co-joined twins joined at the head.

Ben Carson is a remarkable human being who has dedicated his life to saving others. He has even spent his own money giving deserving young people the opportunity to go to college. Every time I see people reduce this giant of a man to a mere politician or pundit, i am incredulous at their ignorance and ashamed for them because they view everyone through a narrow political prism. Dr. Carson speaks his mind and is a shining light in this secular, liberal, PC society. God Bless him.

the KKK were not white liberals

they were conservatives…since democrats used to be conservative while republicans were liberals

nonpartisan on April 2, 2013 at 6:44 PM

Once again the myth that the two parties switched at some point raises its head. No, the people who founded the KKK (not once, but twice) were Democrats. Like you. And they had and have nothing to do with the modern conservative movement or the Republican party. The GOP never ever embraced racism, segregation, Jim Crow, or black codes, like your party did. Never happened. And we Republicans are proud of our long, long history of standing up for civil rights. And BTW, ever notice that its only people from your side that ever use terms like Uncle Tom, Aunt Jemimah, Token, or House Negro to describe black people with whom they disagree politically. Just you guys. Think about it. And yes, that just happened. Now I suggest you get your racist self back to DKos or PuffHo before your Klucker feelings get hurt.

Solaratov on April 2, 2013 at 8:25 PM

White conservatives are cartooned by the Left as More Racist Than Others. One of the beloved memes of these mouth breathers is heaping verbal abuse upon white “conservatives” who criticize O’bama for his policies. They are called “racists” for doing so (Democrat Media Biggie Sam Donaldson confirmed that in my earlier post quote).

A question for our liberals here: I’m widely regarded as a “conservative”, especially here, although I was a lifelong Democrat until 2000. The Party left me, not the other way around. But I would definitely not be considered as a “conservative” member of the Republican Party.

My question: Would you call me a racist if I criticized O’bama for not closing Gitmo?
