Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

posted at 8:01 am on March 31, 2013 by Allahpundit

For breakfast this Easter morning? Amnesty, of course. We’ve been looking for specifics about just what the Gang of Eight has planned and now, maybe, we’re about to get some. Schumer and Flake will hit NBC and Lindsey Graham will appear on CNN to address the border-security “trigger,” the emerging agreement between business and labor about the guest-worker program, and whether they really are going to try to ram this thing through the Senate with only a week or two of deliberations. In related news, at last check, Graham faces no serious primary challenge next year despite representing one of the most conservative states in America. How’d that happen?

Cardinals Dolan and Wuerl will also be on to discuss which reforms Francis is planning in the spirit of Pope-and-change and whether there’s a risk that he’ll alienate traditionalists. The line-up via National Journal:

Meet the Press hosts Sens. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Jeff Flake, R-Ariz.

Face the Nation hosts Cardinal Timothy Dolan and other religious leaders.

This Week hosts Dolan, Newark (N.J.) Mayor Cory Booker and Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y.

Fox News Sunday hosts retired Navy Captain Mark Kelly and Cardinal Donald Wuerl.

State of the Union hosts Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn.

how much does anyone want to bet that chris wallace doesn’t ask Mark Kelly about the murder of the baby seal.

if he does ask Kelly about the gun purchase, it will be done with the most respect and deference possible. spits.

What do you want to wager that Dolan is going to be the most enthusiastic backer of Papa Francisco? He already did a me too Mass at a prison this week, so you may bump into him on a subway. ;)

Illinidiva on March 31, 2013 at 8:38 AM

Where’s McLame? Anyways, maybe Chuckie can tell us all about his wonderful adventure to the border where everything is all secure. He’s another reason I don’t live in NY.

American dream come true. Schumer goes on a Middle Eastern tour and winds up getting kidnapped by terrorist fanatics who make exorbitant ransom demands for his release.

the State Department response: “You pig-sucking Muslim cowards wouldn’t dare.”

“This Week” is a gay-marriage-love-fest. “The overwhelming majority is in favor of SSM”. Really? They’re not saying “the wrong side of history”, but they’re thinking it.

James on March 31, 2013 at 9:09 AM

Yep, and according to Michelle Malkin on Twitchy, Twitter is flooded right now with complaints, mockery, and outright condemnation over what Google pulled today!

Come on, Hotair! Who cares what Schmucky Chucky and Loser Lindsay have to say about amnesty! What Google did today is MAJOR, and should be covered here!

pilamaye on March 31, 2013 at 9:27 AM

Google celebrates Chavez, while Bing! has Easter eggs. Even atheists like Easter, for the traditions of egg hunts, family, and a special dinner. Liberals, though? If something doesn’t advance The Cause, it is to be ignored if not outright mocked. Sad, wretched little people of small minds.

Liam on March 31, 2013 at 9:33 AM

OT: Drudge Report has posted the link to the Daily Caller story on what Google pulled with honoring Cesar Chavez today instead of Easter. What the report has to say is a real eye-opener as to possibly why Google did what they did!

And no surprise, The Empty Suit is involved………….again!

So, Rubio gets in bed with Chucky Schumer and is surprised? Doesn’t want his own legislation jammed down our throats? The guy is such a huge disappointment.

Panther on March 31, 2013 at 10:00 AM

President Barack Obama released a statement in 2011 proclaiming March 31 “Cesar Chavez Day,” declaring, “I call upon all Americans to observe this day with appropriate service, community, and educational programs to honor Cesar Chavez’s enduring legacy.”

Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2013/03/31/google-honors-cesar-chavez-on-easter/#ixzz2P7sCJ5Qn

What is this “service” that Obysmal continues to invoke? Why are we continually being harangued via his statements as president to act in service to the “community”?

One could ask how he and his family have spent the day.

I’m heading off to church. I pray that I enter with the forgiving spirit.

GAYS, GUNS, AMNESTY…..THIS IS THE ONLY NEWS we must focus on per the Media Jihadis and the Ruling classers.

YAHOO NEWS HEADLINE:

Two of the lawmakers negotiating an immigration overhaul in Congress say a final deal is at hand but caution that the bipartisan group working on a proposal hasn’t finished its work.

Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York and Republican Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona said on Sunday that organized labor and the business leaders have reached an agreement on immigration. But they both told NBC’s “Meet the Press” that the so-called Gang of Eight senators hasn’t yet signed-off on final legislative language.

Sen. Marco Rubio, a Florida Republican, is also part of the bipartisan group working on an immigration deal. After reports emerged on Saturday that the AFL-CIO and the Chamber of Commerce agreed on a deal, Rubio issued a statement calling a compromise “premature.”

Jeff Flake……remember him? wasn’t he supposed to be a Tea Party darling?

I’m glad mark kelly is getting his face out there. It helps us, because he’s pretty much a babbling idiot. At least he didn’t have Gabby by his side for the sympathy effect.

Seriously,, the dude is clueless.

I’m sure the interview came with stipulations. No talk of epic failure of an AR sale. And dead seals.

No balls.

Here in town most of us see Gabby as being exploited. As crass as it sounds, she just parrots rehearsed prepared short verses. There is little to suggest cognitive function. It’s sad.

However her husband USING HER AS A PROP is even more sad. Lack of character on his part.

Remember …Joseph and Mary fled with Him across the border into Egypt.
