Illegal immigrant climbs border fence right in front of McCain and Schumer; Update: Video added

posted at 6:41 pm on March 27, 2013 by Allahpundit

No one has video of this glorious moment in the annals of border security? C’mon.

I’m trying to figure out why he would tweet this and I can’t settle on a theory. Maybe because he thinks it shows that the “goddamned fence” won’t keep illegals out, in which case there’s no point in expanding the one we have? Or is it because Border Patrol actually nabbed the illegal in this case? See, Janet Napolitano’s right — the border’s more or less secure-ish.

Actually, I think this is McCain in pretend border-hawk mode to lay the groundwork for the big immigration debate in the Senate next month. This bill’s not going to pass if Republican voters become convinced that the GOP caucus is selling them out on border improvements in the name of moving legalization along. Maverick and Graham have to at least appear to be driving a hard bargain with Schumer on security; tweeting about someone climbing the fence right in front of him serves that purpose as a vivid example of Something Must Be Done. By the same token, he told a town hall audience in Arizona two days ago that no, he won’t start using the Orwellian term “undocumented” to describe illegal immigrants. They’re “illegals,” darn it, and he won’t be bullied by Democrats into calling them anything else. Until the new Senate bill passes, that is, at which point all of those illegals will suddenly be eligible for legal status and he can start calling them “my friends” the way he does everyone else.

By the way, about that “big immigration debate”: I’m not sure it’s happening.

The Committee Republicans had asked Leahy “that the public be given adequate time, consistent with past practice in handling complex comprehensive immigration legislation, to read and analyze the contents of any such bill before it is listed on the Committee’s Executive Business Meeting agenda.”

For immigration reform this year, only three hearing have been held. Leahy claims that “during the four Congresses that preceded this one,” or over the past eight years, an additional 40 hearings were held “on these issues.”

Even though the precedent for public input and congressional hearings has not been met, Leahy said in his response to Sessions that “we have conducted multiple hearings on the exigent need for a comprehensive fix to our broken immigration system,” and that he now hopes “to turn to comprehensive immigration legislation and consider it through our normal Committee process.” Leahy does, however, admit that “we do not have a legislative proposal before us.”

So, in a way, just as the border’s already been kinda sorta secured, we’ve already kinda sorta debated immigration. If only the Senate could rubber-stamp the bill today. Alas, it won’t be available until April 8 at the earliest. Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for video of Obama’s big immigration interviews this afternoon. Something should be available by 8 p.m. ET, hopefully.

Update: Glorious.

If only McCain and Schumer would follow this….

The Pappy Plan to restore fiscal and cultural sanity in America.

1. Seal the border.

Saves entitlements of all kinds, in states by the score. Crime rates go down, and Mexico doesn’t get to release their poor at our expense.

2. 10% across the board cuts in Federal spending.
If the budget is $3.5 trillion then cut it $350 billion. Just keep cutting every year for awhile and we’ll let you know when you can stop.

……..but then they are trying to ensure Progressive D.C. ruling class rule for generations by bringing on 30 million new dependents.

Today we must all be aware that political expediency and latino ethnicity takes precedence over rule of law and constitutional procedure. However you say – WHAT THE – what does this mean… in relation to the tabulation whereby we must once again realize that the great reconquesta story is now being rehearsed before our very eyes, in the rise of Marco Rubio… indicating that only a two-faced, I mean a bi-faced, I mean a bi-lingual hombre can receive…the award for reconquesta, unlike Kenyan Hussein Obama whose reconquesta plans don’t drink water.

Amigos – comrades – friends, we are gathered here as an edifice of the great glory that is now vanishing and the intuitive feeling, based on the assumption as Mencken once said, “He who underestimates the American voter will never go broke.” This is merely a small indication to behold and to perceive that which has gone way into the behind and to that which might go forward out of the future…we’ve got to rip up the constitution so we can rip down those outdated borders!

Ladies and Gentlemen. The time will come when a first world America will outlive its usefulness. Marx, either Groucho or Karl, I can’t remember which, maybe it was both or maybe it was Harpo, once said that America is the opiate of the people. I say that when America outlives its usefulness and becomes a majority latino nation nation, then opium…will be the opiate…Ahh that’s not a bad idea… we are going to need that especially when the booze runs out …

And the bi-partisan panel, has determined to give the prize to Marco Rubio for his EARNESTY’S RAINBOW. Now EARNESTY’S RAINBOW is a token of this man’s genius…he told me so himself and repeatedly …that he could change perceptions by calling his plan for knocking down those pesky borders EARNESTY …in other words, he could have been more specific, but rather than to allude to an articulation of the mundane, he has come to the conclusion that brevity is the importance of our nation’s shallow first world existence. God damn!

Marco Rubio’s . EARNESTY’S RAINBOW – is a small contribution to a certain degree, since there are over seven billion people in the world today. 450 of them … million live in the United States and Mexico which is a very, very small amount compared to those who will be miserable and dying elsewhere…Well, I say that you will be on the road to new horizons, for we who live in a society where citizenship is a commodity and a politician can become a TV personality, it’s not easy to conform if you have any morality…I, I, I said that myself many years ago…

But I do want to thank la Raza…I mean the RNC … I mean the DNC and it’s subsidiary the RNC, the organization for the $1,000 in affirmative action latino scholarships they’ve given out…tonight they took in over $4,000,000, but they do have expenses for their consultants you know, and I think that I have another appointment. I would like to stay here, but for the sake of brevity I, I must leave. I do want to thank you, I want to thank Mr. Allah Pundit. I want to thank Mr. Morrisey, who just ran through the auditorium and out a fire exit, and I want to thank Marco Rubio – acting el Presidenta of la Raza Mexiamerica and also Mr. Obama – acting Pharaoh and Drone Commander of the World – and also I want to thank Professor Irwin Corey and thank you.t …

I hope John sees that it is not very “respectful” to build this big wall and have enforcement people grabbing the aliens. It will not work too well as long as the economics are there.

In the most humane manner possible, remove the inducement to come here.

for a comprehensive fix to our broken immigration system

Just because people continue to break the current law, doesn’t mean it’s a broken system.

We have numerous laws on the books regarding homicide. Since people continue to kill, should we have a comprehensive fix for those laws?

I would hope not. That suggests this was all a set up and even a bimbo like Meghan can’t be so goddammed stupid to telegraph a staged photo-op in advance.

And it also isn’t new. I remember being on the border in San Diego back in the late 1980s, as dusk was falling the illegals were lining up and stretching out as if they were getting ready for a marathon. The border patrol was lining up as if they were on defense at the scrimmage line for a football game. At some point the game began. All within plain sight of the public.

I agree with the idea that this is only commie bastard traitors like McCain trying to soften the ground for next week’s cave on amnesty where we, the public, are to be assured that Congress really really really means it that border security is part of the deal. At the same time our DHS secretary boasts that the illegals she lets in will make Arizona and New Mexico solid blue states thanks to all the illegal voters.

The El Paso Mayor Cook is an amnesty loving hack who should be duct taped to the border wall at midnight and see what’s what in Juarez up close.
The border is secure because you have that man power, because the economy is better in Mexico, because they have dumped their uneducated and their criminals into our country in the name of racism.
The fence is a tool, the agents are a tool, but you need interior enforcement that will weed out the illegals that are taking jobs, lowering wages, and partaking in welfare programs that were never meant for them. We need to use E-Verify for jobs, benefits, and all other services and they will go home when they cannot make money…they don’t want citizenship that these stuttering fools are always bleating about, they want our money. They already have a country and they are trying to make OUR country like there country…and in some places, they are succeeding.
Now, DHS is trying to tie the border agent’s hands even further than they already have with this defacto amnesty orders that make it unlawful for the AGENTS to do their jobs, by dropping morale by taking away part of their pay. It is all a game for these doddering fools to get more votes, more power, and fools like mccain and flake are all too willing to bend over and allow it to happen.
It makes me sick to listen to McCain and I wish the Border Agents he speaks with would give him an earful, but they always stick the upper brass with him and those are your yes men. The rank and file and first liners are never allowed to speak the truth of what is really going on down on the border.

That’s the problem right there. Fence.

Fence equals climbable.

If you’re going to install a physical barrier, at least construct one that is a lot more difficult to scale, such as a flat surfaced CONCRETE WALL. Put razor wire on top and call it a day.

Logus on March 28, 2013 at 12:53 AM

It’s the former as he watches the “Build the Fence” crowd sit down in stunned silence.

rukiddingme on March 27, 2013 at 9:58 PM

Doesn’t silence me. It does nothing more than prove that the government is using stupid designs to create physical barriers. A fence of any variety is dumb, but it’s cheap… and that’s what the government reasons we have to do… along with I suspect, have something we can see thru – which wouldn’t work with a wall. But, if you’ve got towers, drones and patrols, what difference does it make if you can’t see through the wall?!

A fence has always been a pathetic excuse, a carrot by the government.

I don’t want a fence, I want a wall! Let me see someone scale a sheer, vertical twenty foot high wall with razor wire on it. A ladder or rope would be pointless against the razor wire. Can’t scale what you cannot grasp.

Maybe it is time for Whites to realize that unless they stem the tide of third world infiltrators, there won’t BE an America.

No, that will not happen, because then we would have to acknowledge RACE and differences in Culture which would disavow Cultural Marxism and Multiculturalism and that would bring us face to face with the fact that Whites have an interests in surviving.

Bulletchaser on March 28, 2013 at 1:41 AM

You can’t write better comedy than that.

dddave on March 28, 2013 at 5:59 AM

Climbing over right in front of them demonstrates there is absoluetly NO RESPECT for this nation, its laws, & our leaders & absolutely NO FEAR of repercussion for breaking our law. (THESE are the people we want to embrace as ‘would be Americans’ who are going to respect this country & contribute to our society? I know our President doesn’t respect the rule of law, the Constitution, or democracy…we don’t need more of such people.) I bet if Border Security shot the individual as they climbed up over the fence and left the body hanging on the fence as a signal to the rest attitudes would change.

easyt65 on March 28, 2013 at 9:11 AM

Step #1 – electrify the fence.

Step #2 – take all those drones they want for local police depts and send them to the border for constant patrols.

Free Indeed on March 28, 2013 at 9:47 AM

Why can’t we just electrify the fence?

jedijson on March 28, 2013 at 11:45 AM

So that’s why the border is now more secure than ever. Illegal aliens now have to climb over a fence. Phew.

Good thing she didn’t fall and hurt herself. With so many prominent witnesses, she could have successfully sued for lifetime disability and personal emotional damages and came out as good as a mega lottery winner!

This kind of potential liability and related injury claims is why we need to remove that fence!

I take anything put out by broadcast news with a grain of salt, but I will say this:

El Paso is one of the safest cities in the US because its citizens are mostly armed.

RebeccaH on March 28, 2013 at 12:30 PM

ICE probably “apprehended” her, made sure she knew how to collect food stamps, explained how anchor babies work and turned their backs with the door wide open for 15 minutes or so.

Greed.

Lies.

Lust for wage slaves.

Lust for Vote slaves.

Evil.

Two Party.

Money

Cult.

Washington D.C..

Only Question left.

Will we fight for the Constitution and the rule of law.

This is not just a test, it is real.

The truth is just a finger tip away.

google

Electronic Border in a war zone, in monsons, triple canopy jungles.

Think of what Sandia Lab has done from 1972 to now on this.

What is in use in Afganistain and Iraq that they use to track and drone the islamic ones of terror?

The ones in Washington D.C. lie, all of them.

One more reason to despise TV news is the encroachment of their graphics on the video, obscuring action and obliterating subtitles. What criteria dictates where to place the graphic? Any place that is most intrusive?

And I’m in the graphic design industry.

cheeflo on March 28, 2013 at 1:59 PM

Then Schumer immediately had her released.

RickB on March 27, 2013 at 6:47 PM

Yes, released into Arizona. But not before he gave her a green card, an application for food stamps and welfare (in Spanish, of course), a voter registration card, and a La Raza brochure explaining her right not to show any ID here (along with the hotline number for Eric Holder in case any cop dares to ask).

Let’s hope the unions are successful in crashing the amnesty law, because that’s probably our only hope now.

The proggies want us to believe that Mexico is a third-world hellhole, yet it isn’t.

slickwillie2001 on March 27, 2013 at 9:20 PM

In fairness, the boon to their economy is all the spring breakers that go down there to blow wads of cash, whereas among their populace, they’re in the middle of a big drug war right now. Like, literally a drug war, with high-powered weapons and shootouts in the street. The last couple of years, the Mexican drug war alone has claimed more lives than all gun-related murders in the US for the same period.

So they’re not the Congo, but Arizona and Texas still look mightily good to a lot of people living on non-coastal border towns.

The Schaef on March 28, 2013 at 5:00 PM

How is it that small Israel can build a fence that keeps BOMBERS out and yet we can’t build a fence that can’t be so easily scaled by a woman?

And not sure who I dislike more, Schumer or McLame.

riddick on March 28, 2013 at 5:40 PM

Persecuted alien gays and lesbians will be welcomed at the border by packs of newly-evolved politicians.

Next meme:

They’re not illegal aliens, they’re just millions of poor, down-trodden asylum-seeking LGBTs!”
