Graham: Yeah, it’s time to subpoena the Obama administration on the Benghazi survivors

posted at 10:41 am on March 21, 2013 by Erika Johnsen

At the White House press briefing on Monday, Jay Carney once again insisted that, why no, the White House is not blocking access to the injured survivors and first-hand witnesses of the still-under-investigation terrorist attack in Benghazi that resulted in the deaths of four Americans in September.

Which was probably news to a handful of Republican senators currently pushing for more access to and information about the Benghazi survivors as part of their Congressional investigation. Last week, Sen. Lindsey Graham voiced his suspicions that the witnesses have been “told to keep quiet” by the Obama administration: “The best evidence of what happened in Benghazi is not a bunch of politicians in Washington trying to cover their political ass. This is the people who lived through the debacle, and I’m going to do all I can to get them before the Congress and American people.” He also urged the House leadership to subpoena the White House if and when it became necessary to help wring out the details — a plea on which he intends to follow through today.

I’m going to meet with the House leadership tomorrow, hoping they will take up the Benghazi cause. Look how far we’ve come from what the story was told by Susan Rice. Look what we found out by pushing on this show and other shows, CBS and mainly FOX. The whole scenario told by the president and Susan Rice has absolutely collapsed. …

To my House colleagues, please, for god’s sake step up your game when it comes to Benghazi. You have tools I don’t because I’m in the minority party in the Senate. Unfortunately Harry Reid hasn’t looked to push the administration. Look what we did on Iraq and interrogation techniques gone bad under t the Bush administration. The Democratic senators have given the president a pass when it comes to Benghazi. The House cannot give him a pass. …

I think that Speaker Boehner is very much in the mindset of trying to get to the bottom of Benghazi. But yes, I will urge Speaker Boehner to use the powers of the House not to chase rabbits, but to get to the bottom line. We have not heard from the people who went through this debacle who were there on the ground. I guarantee if this had been a good news story we would have heard from them the next day. The fact we haven’t heard from them for six months should make every American worried about what this administration is covering up.

Motion, seconded.

Let’s start with a very simple question. What exactly were all those CIA people doing in Benghazi in the first place? Nobody has answered that one though I think we all have a pretty good idea. I just want somebody from the administration to admit it.

Yeah, that’s the delicate one. I doubt they can help too much more with detail on what exactly happened with the attack itself, but, I suspect the federales really don’t want them talking about why they were there.

If Graham got what he’s demanding, the MSM will simply call the questioning Republican abuse intended to ‘get’ Obama.

Graham is full of it, far as I’m concerned. I don’t believe he really wants the truth because, if he does, he might be expected to Do Something(TM). That sort of thing doesn’t fly too well with these rubber-spined Congressional Pubs. It’s better for them to posture to gain campaign donations, continuing their hype until they win the next election. After that, the question becomes, “How can I accommodate the status quo?”

I don’t completely disagree but at the same time don’t those four dead Americans deserve a fuller hearing about what happened on 9/11/12?

I think we can all agree that Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, and the rat-eared devil lied their asses off for days including on five Sunday talk shows and at the United Nations.

We know that the State Department was getting real-time video and yet did nothing to try and render assistance.

We know that the rat-eared devil knew of the situation but went to bed with little interest that his Ambassador was missing. The next day he lied his ass off and went to Vegas for a fundraiser.

But what we don’t know:

1. Just whose blood was smeared on the consulate wall?
2. Why was the consulate still open when the British and Red Cross operations closed due to safety concerns?
3. What was the CIA doing there?
4. What was Ambassador Stevens doing there on 9/11 of all days and with known protests going on throughout the region?
5. What was the cause of death of the four dead Americans? Autopsies were conducted in Germany but the results have been withheld.
6. Why did it take weeks to secure the consulate ruins?
7. What is known to have been compromised as a result?
8. Was military assistance possible during the eight-hour fight? If not why not? If so why wasn’t aid attempted?

Happy Nomad on March 21, 2013 at 11:15 AM

Graham coming up with this little sound bite, just as the GOP takes a massive lurch to the left on AMNESTY and abandons the base, couldn’t possibly be timed to redirect our attention to a ‘scandal’ related to Benghazi could it?

On this point, they need to subpoena flight records. There was air support in the area, otherwise the Seals wouldn’t have bothered painting the enemy mortar position with a laser designator. They wouldn’t have done that unless they were IN RADIO CONTACT with support aircraft that were either inbound or already on station. Someone was up there, and that someone was ordered out before they could fire on the mortar position.

Consider and review the current ammo and gun buying.

Consider and review that there are 20,000,000 illegals inside the U.S.A. now and at least 5,000,000 of them have been or are involved in the sale and distribution of illegal drugs or they are part of the coyote border jumping operations.

Consider and review the number of gangs, the number of fraud votes for elected officals not only at the national level but under it all in the local elections.

Consider and review the fact the thin blue line is very ver thin and in fact in many cases as in Chicago, Detroit, LA, and others is not a line at all but just the clearing house for who gets to do the crimes.

Do you think the survivors of this would be quite if the truth hurt Bush?

Consider they ALL have kept the kind of silence only the most LOYAL Democrats would keep to avoid embarrassing the President. These people have most likely been threatened with some kind of action to keep a harrowing experience like this under wraps. Kind of like they did with the Democrat women Clinton groped who were threatened with never working again if they talked. Of course the MSM didn’t try and get them to talk.
