Ya – I agree – talk is cheap. ALL of the county sheriffs in Colorado are saying the same thing though – but not State Patrol or municipal police. We’ll just have to see come 1 July whether they realiy have the cojones to back up that talk.

Let’s specify that the sheriffs probably take an oath to uphold and defend the Colorado constitution, primarily. Which, of course, has that little prohibition on restricting guns……..

There is this dichotomy of thought that Obama is sinister and is unfolding an evil plan to take down this nation on one hand and that he is a bumbling, ignorant fool on the other.

This attempt by him and his coterie of commie sycophants to erase firearm ownership from the American scene is a classic example of his stupidity, however. The public — seeing this threat to the first, second, fourth, and tenth amendments — have reacted by buying more guns, ammunition, and even the wherewithal to produce same.

This has driven demand for all items through the roof — including those goods and services on the periphery of the question. It’s annoying and yet satisfying to put in an order for a reloading press, dies, powder, bullets, brass, etc. and be told that you have a six-month wait until you receive the items you ordered.

I looked on the net the other day and found that per car there are three times the number of deaths than there are deaths per gun. I wrote the gov suggesting that he widen I-25 between Colorado Springs and Castle Rock before passing this legislation. I’m sure you can guess how that’ll fly.

And you can say all you want about “burden of proof”; the reality is that Police Chief Gun-Grabber will have your gun and magazines confiscated as “evidence” in a criminal case…. assuming he isn’t issuing the statement over the bodies of you and your family “killed while resisting arrest.”

Yes, this will happen. Most likely in one of the Denver / Boulder area jursidictions, as the municipal police in those areas are just as libtard as the politicians. Very likely a situation like this will be the first legal test of the laws. I hope the NRA is ready to jump in and help when the time comes.

When they make a clear statement that they WILL AGGRESSIVELY go after cops arresting people I may change my views, but right now I am sure they are nothing but cheap publicity stunts.

Like every elected official in the state, I took an oath to support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Colorado. This means all rights. Prior to being elected as Sheriff, I took the same oath as a Deputy Sheriff and prior to my law enforcement career, I was a firearms enthusiast and sportsman. I am among the millions of Americans who chooses to exercise their right to bear arms and I avoid judgment of those who choose not to. Today and everyday into the future, I will continue to not only exercise this right but ensure that our law abiding citizens’ right to bear arms is protected. I personally believe this right among others is non-negotiable. Some have suggested this is a political issue or a right and left issue. I strongly oppose that suggestion. This is a constitutional rights issue and we should all stand by this document which is the foundation of this nation.
