Boy, the good doctor was in full force here. I agree that the Democrats must be scared to death. Something must have happened between the NPB and this speech because Ben Carson is even more appealing here. I truly hope he runs for President. He is the real deal.

I live in a part of the country that might get into fracking and I can tell you, Bub, I don’t want my well water contaminated like it is just a state to the North of me. Sometimes one’s personal experience or circumstance does make one look at things in a different light. And if you care to look at what Dr. Carson really said, he never said that those guns should be banned. He made a personal observation. That’s all.

As to Portman and gay marriage…What do I care what his reasoning is? His son is homosexual so he supports it. I don’t. I understand why he supports it but it doesn’t change my opinion of the issue. Neither does it make me want to throw him to the lions.

Is Carson a potential contender to the throne? Way, way, way too early to say, as he’s still very early on the scene. But there’s no doubt that whatever “it” is that top level politicians are supposed to have, he’s got it by the bucket load.

Dr. Carson has reprised his speech to the President. Less politely, but it’s the same speech.

The centerpieces of the speech are the need for fiscal responsibility, and the need to support educational excellence.

If you are going to have the state supporting education, it couldn’t do better than to do it Dr. Carson’s way.

No, I heard that and disagree BUT there is more to understanding freedom than just that one issue. And you have to understand, Dr. Carson is in Baltimore where high capacity guns are usually used to kill someone over a pair of sneakers or because of drugs. He was saying that in highly populated urban areas, it might be okay to curtail those guns. I am not saying I agree but I understand where he is coming from. He has seen first hand young people who have been shot in the head. Because he holds this view is not tantamount to not understanding freedom.
