So, in a way, those who supported Romney are guilty of underestimating the integrity and intelligence of the American Voting electorate?

Come to terms with the fact that this country is headed for Total Socialist controlled $hithole status, and the votting majority are OK with that – and willingly welcome the demise.

Then this group would also include those who felt Romney was no more conservative than the Marxist-raised purple lipped Corruptocrat who showed his true colors over 4 years of ineptness- but remains for another 4.

So what exactly is it you are attempting to assert here, that no youth can be Conservative, that none of the young people involved in CPAC are actually Conservatives, that all of the youthful participants of CPAC are RINO’s? Or that simply by virtue of their youth they have little to no political impact or voice?

Simply put, CPAC is largely a mid-20s crowd. Of course they can be energetic and passionate conservatives. But you don’t win elections simply through energy and passion. Beyond a forum for aspiring politicians to give speeches I’m inclined to believe that CPAC has little purpose in the political process.

I’m not pissed off in the slightest, I am just trying to understand why you are being so dismissive of CPAC, and particular it’s youthful participants. Look, I am in my 50′s and would attend a CPAC event in a heartbeat if I could afford to.

Wayne LaPierre is the exact wrong person to be spokesman for the NRA if they want to attract new people to the cause. He looks like Skelator, a caricature of what people think the NRA is.

No, the Republican Party has rejected the candidates who have offered themselves as the conservative “choice”. That’s a separate issue then conservatism itself. Mr. Perry has conflated philosophy with candidacy.

Mr. Perry is perhaps one of the finest governors to serve Texas. But he was obviously a lousy presidential choice who didn’t appeal to the party or this finicky electorate.

Certainly we want a candidate who espouses a conservative philosophy and can simply articulate their goals. But that person also needs to be a pragmatic and thus, electable, politician who appeals to voters. We also need someone who isn’t tepid about their beliefs or accomplishments but not overly restrictive in espousing them.

The problem with our party is we are more effective at fighting each other than the opposition. Until that ceases, get familiar with the view. Nobody gets everything they want in a negotiation and I am sick of the whining.
