Video: George H.W. Bush’s first flash mob

posted at 9:21 pm on March 13, 2013 by Erika Johnsen

Aw heck, it’s been a slow day and it’s kinda’ fun, so why not?

Stopping in for what the Bush family no doubt thought would just be a routine photo op at the Texas A&M Bush School of Government and Public Service on March 1st (the school apparently withheld the video until yesterday), the 41st president suddenly found himself at the front of a country-themed flash mob choreographed by students in his honor. Via CBS News:

“President Bush visits the school at least four times a year,” Buch told CBS News. “He’d never seen a flash mob before, so his administration thought it would be a unique way to honor the president.”

With the goal to make the dance exclusively students of the Bush School, an email went out to the student population two weeks before the big show asking for participants. Three rehearsals – and a week of work with a Nashville country music artist to re-record the tailored lyrics – later, the mob was ready to dance.

Afterward, Buch said, Bush met with the performers, as well as alumni and faculty in attendance.

“He said he loved it,” she said. “He loved the lyrics. He wanted an encore. One of the Flash Mob America cameras was just on him the whole time, and it was so great to watch his reaction. He kept moving his scooter closer and closer.”

When students sing and dance for a Republican President it’s because they’re adults and admirers and want to show their appreciation. When students sing and dance for a Progressive thug it’s because their infants and their impressionable little minds are being polluted by members of the teacher union. compare the above to the below:

Nothing says “WE LOVE YOU” like a good, old-fashioned Texas line dance. (Ah, memories of CYO dances past).

Bush School of Government and Public Service

That sums up what’s wrong with the Bushes. They have “schooled” us, disastrously, on government and public service.

Sweet. He got rolled on a couple of occasions just like his boy Elroy, but neither of them are jerks. And yes, with your comment you are sorry.

I love Texas.

Well, he did get fished out of the Pacific by a submarine after the Grumman Avenger he was piloting got shot down…….in World War Two…….about 70 years ago.

I should hope to be doing half as well by that time in my life.

Just retreading that first bit reminds me what a no account nothing our current supposed leader is. I won’t even type the piece of trash’s name anymore.

Even in his twilight George H. W. Bush still carries himself with dignity, humility, appreciation and class. When he passes, I’m pretty sure that I’m going to become as red-eyed as I was when Ronald Reagan did, and largely for the same reason: in my lifetime I am witnessing the transition from the America of the “Greatest Generation” to the “Honey Boo Boo America” that we live in today. History books written in the future will, I am afraid, conclude that the generation that marked the beginning of the USA’s decline and fall was the same one that elected Barry O — twice.

I recall a European observer’s comment not long after Bubba Clinton became president: “When George Bush entered the room, you felt America’s power. With Bill Clinton, you feel like you’re back in the college student union, where everything was open to debate.”

Sadly, one sees a repeat of that phenomenon with the replacement of George W. Bush with Barry O.
