I figure they reunited us with Morgan for a reason. I figure he will play a significant roll before this season ends.

I have that sense, too.

The actor, Lennie James, playing Morgan is just too great to easily dismiss him from the story, the Series in general. I strongly doubt that we’ve seen the last of “Morgan.”

Actor Lennie James (“Morgan”) is British, too, like several of the others in the cast. To my ear, they’re the only actors who successfully imitate a Southern accent.

One detail that most discussions have overlooked is “the tea” thing that Milton keeps providing to the Governor (and himself and others).

This isn’t an incidental detail or the writers wouldn’t continue to reintroduce Milton serving his “tea” to people with such focus…

…and the Governor remarking about how Milton’s “tea” “keeps him goin’” and similar.

So I think Milton has some concoction developed there that is keeping-the-Walker-Change-at-bay.

Maybe the Governor will just go Full-Walker and then that’ll be both satisfaction for the revenge-seekers and something special for Michonne, Rick, Carl, Daryl and Merle to deal with.

It would be a fitting end, the Governor, gone Walker.

Then why didn’t they do it then and there? Andrea is always packing heat. She could have gotten a few shots off.

And I would love to see Andrea killed off! That would make a two-fer for me after watching them kill off the annoying Claudia Joy Holden from Army Wives.

I like Rick’s sense of fairness/justice but sometimes it’s frustrating because it seems a relic from a different world with an obsolete culture. Michonne, Merle, and Carl seem more adapted to their world as it actually is.

I liked season 2 more than season 3. I thought they built up the tension well and the last episode when you see the zombies coming over the horizon. There were a number of memorial scenes in season 2 – not so much for season 3. But to each their own.

One thing that bugs me about this season is the obligatory musical interlude. I’m just not a fan of mood music. Also, this last episode they did a lot of musical sound effects. It was too distracting for me.

Isn’t it rather disturbing that we can all blithely discuss murder, even though it’s only of fictional characters?

Remember that in this show, we rarely see major characters killed off unless they are total bastards such as Shane, Lori, or Carol’s husband, the wife beater (if he even was a major character). They killed of Dale, but the actor playing him wanted off the show. I highly doubt any of the remaining actors/actresses do. The other characters were liked but “throw away”: T-Dog? Brother never got a break, or any lines (although he was well liked). Do we even remember the names of anyone else? No, because they were throw away characters.

So, who is likely to die?

Maggie–because she would cause Glenn to go into a “Rick-like psychotic rage, which will be fodder for a few shows. And this will also prove that in Zombieland, whoever you love…dies. (a recurring theme espoused by Morgan)

Carol–She was kind of whiney, has a bad hairdo, and despite having a crush on Daryl, what is the point to her character? Perhaps she has a chance as the “Woman who overcame abuse by having her Husband eaten”, but since her daughter is dead, not much else.

Blonde Granddaughter–The fact that Carl has a crush on her means her death would be an effective plot point to induce him to become even more cold and robotic. I do think she will bite it pretty soon.

Hershel–A bit less likely, but only because he replaced Dale as the “Moral heart of the group”. But he only has one foot, so he might get killed.

Characters likely to survive:

Daryl–badass “Country boy will survive character” who, even with few lines, is a testament to survival.

Merle–more likely to die than Daryl, but also an interesting character whose lines are never PC, but often somewhat truthful. The fact he seems to be getting nicer might be a bad sign, though. Being a bad guy is what Merle does.

Rick–Lead character, would not be killed unless it happens in Season 6 or something, and he gets bored with the character.

Carl–We all want to see him become the living terminator.

Michonne–She is already a living terminator (cool) and does much of it with a boss Samurai sword. Chances of death? Almost 0

Andrea–Yeah, the Gov could kill her, but since she is tentatively on the outs with the group, would they miss her much? Nope.

Piss off, haters. This show is 10x better than Keeping Up with the (Long name family) and all the rest of the garbage out there. The last 3 episodes Glenn was very poorly dealing with Maggie’s being violated by the Gov; the sex scene was the closure on that.

Rick and group seemed so much less potent without Daryl with them.

And I realize how popular the character of Daryl is with the viewers so I question the notion of seeing Daryl ki**ed off with this Season (though his brother, Merle, gone would resolve that problem for the whole Series, Merle as Mad Dog agitator).

I think it’ll be Rick, Carl, Maggie, Glenn, Michonne, Andrea and possibly Daryl who’ll survive to Season 4.

Hershel and his daughter won’t make it, nor will Carol…from what I’m guessing.

There’s no way in hell it gets cancelled. It’s the #1 rating cable show with 11-12 million viewers.

You gain nothing by paying the danegeld in giving up Michonne. On the contrary, you lose a fearless warrior and you sow paranoia in the rest of the group that you’ll sell them out next. The only compelling solution to the problem under the circumstances would be for Rick to sell her out whereupon someone else in the group

RICK WON’T DO THAT. He’s already taken Michonne into the group, as has the group itself accepted her. Even Carl, the most reticent among them, has found her an impressive and acceptable addition to their “people”.

Rick’s playing out scenarios by asking Herschel what he thinks about trading Michonne…that’s all Rick’s doing. But he won’t do that.

The Governor showed himself to be weak and flimsy with his huffy, egotistical insults to Rick in their “sit down” in the last Episode and Rick’s got the upper hand as to who is more confident, more capable, more decent, if such can be said about anyone at this point in the demise of humanity…

I got Netflix and watched the first season in one weekend after my son bugged the crap out of me. That way I was ready for season 2. It was definitely worth it and I’m a middle aged woman who shouldn’t find this stuff exciting.

This Series is best viewed ON DEMAND or on DVD/Netflix/purchased and without the commercial breaks that are on the live broadcasts on AMC.

Before Season 3 started, I watched (again) Seasons 1 and 2 on AMC ON DEMAND and that way watched the whole story through without breaks.

HOWEVER, by the next day when Season 3 premiered, I was entirely peaked on the gory violence, having forgotten how brutal so much of this is before I watched the first two Seasons ON DEMAND.

It’s just easier to enjoy the whole story straight through without the commercial breaks and waiting a week from one Episode to the next but then, all television Series are like that (Sopranoes, House, etc.).

BUT, in the comics, the only characters that survive to the start of Next Season (4) — that is, who don’t meet their end or wander off, whichever, at the end of this Season 3, are:

Rick, Carl, Andrea, Glenn, Maggie and MAYBE Daryl (though I’m not sure about Daryl from the comic story, however would like to see him continue throughout the Series).

The Governor dies and in the comic book tale, so do Carol, Herschel and Beth. I don’t know what they’re going to do with Daryl and Merle…

BTW, if I was Rick, the second Martinze closed the door, I would have had Daryle put a crossbow bolt into the back of his head. What would Milton have done? Pee’d in his pants? Hershel could easily have taken him out, just projecting the violation and threat of his daughter onto Milton. Then Rick should dispatch the governor. Andrea or Meryl could have easily told Rick that there were only a handful of fighters in the town and only a couple of real leaders, which would now be dead.

Ohhhh, that’s right…. nobody talks to each other. Hey, here’s an important tid bit, the towns people can’t hit a standing walker from a barricade. The town’s people are a bunch of whiney sheep.

It got more than a little threadbare as to enthusiasm and watchability when Rick was wandering the border of the Prison engaged in hallucinations or perhaps inspiration-by-delusional-visions…

…but the character is again engaging us in some astute (yet very subtle, granted) manipulations of all the rest of the characters and I’m finding this level of “supra-intrigue” taking place to be, well, intriguing as viewer.

I like Season 3 (this current one) and I now want the Governor to be as gone as everyone else. I liked the brief confrontation Rick made to the Governor in the last Episode, that (so Rick told him), he was nothing more than the town drunk ruining his yard or something like that.

Rick’s cop-nature at it’s finest. But I still think it’d be an excellent moment in this story if it was Rick’s son, Carl, who appears to do the final deed as to the Governor. ::Blam::, Carl’s the man of the Season.

CARL ki**s the Governor.

Rick doesn’t, Michonne doesn’t, no, it’s CARL who does the deed. Protects his dad, protects his people. Carl does it.

What’s up with all the Asian B movies on Netflix. It seems their entire collection of movies is made up of crap no one would watch except in Chinatown.

My favorite fast-forward serial. WD is a guilty pleasure as long as I can zoom thru the uniformly dismal and interminable “relationship” scenes. The setting and the zombies are very well done, and some of the characters are interestingly portrayed – Scott Wilson’s, Hershel, mainly. But I keep hoping that Andrea will get bitten and turn, just for the pleasure of seeing her head explode.
