Chris Matthews: Hate groups must be big fans of Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, right?

posted at 9:01 pm on March 6, 2013 by Allahpundit

Via Newsbusters. I realize that demonizing tea partiers is his shtick, that opposing unsustainably huge government is supposedly per se proof of nascent domestic terrorism, but maybe it’s worth laying off on an afternoon when both of the guys he names are busy arguing against the president’s power to kill U.S. citizens without due process. Right? If Obama were a Republican, Matthews would have no difficulty grasping which party to the “liquidating Americans on suspicion of terrorism” debate is more dangerous potentially. A suggested rule of thumb for MSNBC: You don’t need to agree with Paul and Cruz on this. You’re free to continue to defend Obama’s right to give the royal thumbs down to someone on John Brennan’s list, even if the target holds an American passport. But maybe, just for the sake of appearances, slow down on comparing the opposition to Nazis at a moment when they’re trying to limit the leader’s authority to summarily execute enemies of the state.

By the way, note that the expert on hate groups here actually tries to disabuse Matthews of the notion that hardcore anti-government nuts care much about Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, or any other mainstream Republican. Matthews, naturally, is having none of it. The point of having this guy on isn’t to educate the viewer about real domestic terrorists, it’s to demagogue conservative politicians who stand in the way of Obama’s agenda via guilt by phantom association. Levin, the expert, simply doesn’t understand what he’s there for.

And after just a few years of debating leftists, I put that total time in minutes if not seconds. It’s largely because they are in no danger of meeting someone who violently adheres to the “hate” they blubber about…for instance if JFKY met a real N@zi in person he’d probably soil his pants, and you can be sure he wouldn’t be making wisecracks.

And this is why what Rand is doing is so crucial. We are at the point where the media will allow the broadening of “hate group ” to include anyone who disagrees with the president and will let that president drone them as long as the president is a Progressive. Paul’s hypothetical feels less hypothetical -y the more Crissy talks.

The SPLC has degenerated into a group of sadsacks who have less discernment than a hyperactive kitten let loose in a yarn factory. They literally do not have the sense to tell the difference between a sheet-wearing, school-burning, “let’s-go-lynch-someone” member of the KKK and a random white person observing that their culture is a complete trainwreck.

Every time they open their mouths, I swear I can hear the ghosts of plantation owners laughing at them. The organization could not possibly be more different than what it used to be a few decades ago.

libfreeordie on February 22, 2013 at 11:51 AM

.
I’ve lost count how many times I’ve said this . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :

In 1950s America, a long-needed political movement began to gain momentum. This movement had for it’s leaders, Godly men. Many of them were clergy.
These leaders based their movement on their knowledge of the Christian Bible, and God’s will for man. They realized the state of condition they lived in had been imposed upon them by others, contrary to the will of God, and that it was past time to put an end to it. They actively, prayerfully sought God’s devine intervention, and leading in conducting this movement. They had to withstand insults, physical assault and related injury, and murder at the hands of some other of their fellow citizens and neighbors, who did not wish to see the changes that were the goals of this Godly Movement.
Another movement began shortly after the start of the Godly movement. This movement had for it’s leaders atheists and agnostics. This other movement had difficulty gaining momentum at first, while the Godly movement continued to gain favorability. The leaders of this “unGodly” movement saw an opportunity, and began to “merge” their movement with the Godly movement. When the top leader of the Godly movement was assassinated in 1968, the leaders of the unGodly movement then coopted and hijacked the Godly movement, for their own benefit.
The benefit that the leaders of the unGodly movement gained from this false-merger, was a FALSE VALIDATION of the changes and ideals that they sought to accomplish and achieve, but were NOT RELATED to the goals of the Godly movement. Anyone who stands against the changes and ideals of the unGodly movement, is immediately stigmatized as wanting to overturn the changes brought about by the Godly movement.
That’s where we stand today. Opposition in any way to liberal, Socialized Government constitutes a desire to impose “white cracker, Caucasion (Aryan?) MALE dominion”, of “everybody else.”

In a story about the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) accusing conservative Christian groups like the Family Research Council of “hate,” The Washington Post described the SPLC as a “civil rights organization.” But The Social Contract, a public policy journal, investigated the SPLC in a recent issue and found that it used “ritual defamation” as a weapon “to advance a far-left agenda and a device to raise more money from gullible liberals to add to its $200 million slush fund.”

The SPLC is a “slime machine” that has also targeted the Eagle Forum, the Heritage Foundation, Rush Limbaugh, Lou Dobbs, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Rep. Steve King (R-IA), and Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), The Social Contract says…

listens2glenn on March 6, 2013 at 10:18 PM

…which is why the Left — essentially the Communists in the Left which comprise a good number of sources in media — has tried so sternly to make “Nazis” mean, or be synonymous with, “White poeple” and “white Christians,” all of which are utterly WRONG, CRUELLY INEXACT AND DISGUSTING LIES yet still promoted by academics in public education.

Hitler and his followers were occultists. They were NOT “Christian” any more than Obama is one or Jim Jones was one. Occultism and occultists consistently claim to be associated with or “know” Jesus Christ yet sell and engage in a plethora of beliefs and behaviors that Christ spoke out against and asked others to not associate with or engage in.

Not to mention the racial stuff, which certainly ISN’T Christian by belief or theology and certainly was something that emanated from Hitler’s confused lineage and mental illnesses, not to mention similar by his followers.

“Aryan” may mean Nordic, Norse, “white” on a purely racial basis but how it was brutally imposed as some sort of wonky standard by Hitler and followers was an aspect of derangements, not of any White-DNA specifically. It’s not characteristic, their derangements about race, of “White people” or Norther Europeans.

Once again, it was evil, mental illness, derangement, laced with the occult (what else) that meshed these crazy notions together with a false claim of “being Christian” and no one who actually IS Christian was or is involved in such.

But the Left continues to push these crazy notions from a deranged ball of insanity that characterized Hitler and his Socialists, which means, they’re, the Left, the ones who are engaged in the same crazy-talk and beliefs as was Hitler.

I agree with your whole comment, but I’m going to suggest a ‘nit-picking’ addition:

You mentioned Christian (they definitely were not), but you didn’t mention “conservative”.

Aside from the absence of that, you’re right-on.

I doubt that. However multiple studies have shown hatred of brown people is what motivates a large chunk of the so called tea party. It’s not about the deficit. Majority of them dont give a f$@k about that.

What they really hate is their prejudicial belief that most brown people sit home all day playing video games while they drive around all day listening to Rush while looking for someone to buy the latest vacuum cleaner.

Hal, YOU’RE A LIAR. You know it and we know it.

“Multiple studies…”? Hah! Were that true, you would have added links, you degenerate sockpuppet. Crap. You’re not even a good liar.

Now, shut up and sing, b!tch! Earn your keep…or are you too busy chasing little boys?

Solaratov on March 6, 2013 at 11:17 PM

Maybe it’s just me but I find it interesting that these attacks on conservatives labeling them as hate groups usually happen to coincide with a drop in the presidents approval ratings. I think some sort of paranoia and panic sets them off.

scalleywag on March 6, 2013 at 11:44 PM

A disappointing but true headline.

HotAirLib on March 6, 2013 at 9:09 PM

Mysogynistichomophobicracistbigot! Just get it out of the way, HAL. But try not to get any truth on you. I’m sure it would be disappointing to you.

I have to say that my life is much better since I banned myself from watching MSNBC, Fox News and any other pundit-based crap that tries to call itself “news”. I couldn’t care less what Matthews or Hannity or their kind think. Screw ‘em all. The people on HA are far more informed, far more balanced and far more intelligent and witty than anything cable news has to offer. My only wish is that HA wouldn’t post anything to do with these droids.

By “multiple” and “studies”, HAL means that several times he’s google image searches “tea party racists” and the same dozen photographs of the same 6 or 7 people who had racist signs (out of the half million plus who were there) at Glenn Becks 9/12 rally in Washington DC come up every time.

It’s not about the deficit. Majority of them dont give a f$@k about that.

HotAirLib on March 6, 2013 at 10:05 PM

Only a libtarded MSNBC programmed drone could think that when 43 presidents account for 10 trillion dollars of US debt and ONE president adds another 10 trillion (by the end of his 2nd term) all on his own that no one will really care about it.

And only a libtard would forget that Obama himself described his own behavior as president as unpatriotic and cruel to children.

Alberta_Patriot on March 7, 2013 at 1:54 AM

A guest (if allowed) should read Chrissie the 5th amendment to the Bill of Rights and ask him if he agrees with it.

If Obama were to take out the top two floors of a Manhattan hotel with a hellfire missile because one of the 150 guests may be someone Obama thinks is a bad guy, would Chrissie object?

kurtzz3 on March 7, 2013 at 2:19 AM

Chris Matthews: Hate groups must be big fans of Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, right?

If Chrissie Matthews wants to dive into the gutter that’s one thing. But couldn’t his attempts at smearing bear some semblance of logic?

Here’s a guy who apparently believes with all seriousness that the vast spectrum of political thought between Micheal Moore and David Duke is completely devoid of human habitation. What parallel universe does he live in where “hate groups” are holding up Canadian born Hispanics as their messiahs?

Alberta_Patriot on March 7, 2013 at 2:26 AM

When Chris Matthews starts to sound like Rove and other GOP insiders you might start thinking they both don’t like real Americans.

Drones, urban assault vehicles, hollow tip ammo for Social Security employees, … what more do you need to see in order to understand the democrats, along with their GOP supporters, are the EXTREMISTS working to TERRORIZE us into submission?

EVERYONE needs to get involved if you want things to change. Find your local Patriot group, attend a few of their meetings, ask questions, learn what the 0bamaGanda media is hiding from you, then go make a sign and hit the upcoming protests!

If not you, who?

Anyone who disagrees with you?

Mathews needs a punch in his stupid mouth.

TX-96 on March 7, 2013 at 7:40 AM

Does this mean that Matthews thinks is a fair subject to talk about how Iran, North Korea and Al Qaeda were all supporting Obama for both election and reelection?

phelps on March 7, 2013 at 7:59 AM

Awww, little hater Matthews took time off from mourning his dead hero Chavez to fling spittle and spew bile.

That’s sweet. Condolences on your loss, Chrissy.
