That’s Socialism right there in a nutshell.

As soon as the industrial revolution enabled peasants to earn as much as nobility, the artsy, intellectual nobles, who were more interested in culture and philosophy than figuring out ways to double and triple their trust funds, started squealing about the seamy nature of Capitalism. They played on the class envy of the less ambitious peasants, and went on and on about “equality”. But they were never contemptuous of the old money crowd. They were contemptuous of the nouveau riche.

It’s always been about the tacky, gluttonous nouveau riche….the peasants who don’t know their proper place. That’s what anti-Americanism is all about…..”who do those tacky, gluttonous Americans think they are becoming the richest most powerful nation in the world, with their football and their fast food and their awful TV shows and their gas guzzling cars?”.

It’s never been about the working class or “the little guy”. They’re just an audience to play to. It’s about a return to the old order, where everyone is either a peasant or a noble, and nothing in between. No stinkin’ small business owners mucking up the old order.

14th Amendment, Section 1 …what’s that? Is New York a State? I’m so confuzzled. Perhaps we should gravitate toward an Amendment they stretch like play-doh

The best thing to come out of this law from Cuomo is, he has sunk any chance he had of becoming President. He’ll be yet another footnote in the Cuomo history book.

You know, unless Ed gets into these movies for free when he reviews them, I have to wonder why anyone would give money to Hollywood.

I don’t patronize theaters anymore. I have not set foot in a theater since seeing Mel Gibson in “Ransom”. There has been much worthwhile material put on screen in the last decade or so. What few good movies have been produced I wait to watch on PPV on cable, so at least I’m not giving as much money to Hollywood. I can’t stand movie theater crowds either.

Here’s the problem – in New York, only 8 counties really matter: The five boroughs, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester. Good luck ever getting those counties to do anything.

Upstate should seriously consider going its own way. Otherwise, they’re going to be a largely rural area having urban sensibilities imposed on them from now until the end of time.

Forget California. Let’s just push them off to some remote island and wall it off like “Escape from New York.” Let them run their own socialist paradise so they can show the rest of us mere mortals how it should be properly implemented.

With all the comments on HA over the last couple months about people losing their guns in lakes, there should be some well armed watery tarts out there perhaps willing to throw out a few scary looking guns with high mag assault clips…..

In order to purchase a firearm, each purchaser must produce the United Gun Owners Union ID card.

If purchaser is not a member of the UGOU, membership will become automatic upon completion of the sale. Annual dues not to exceed $5,000 per annum will be collected by the IRS through federal income tax returns and transferred to the UGOU treasurer.
